Totino's frozen pizza - I know, gross, right? But it's a childhood thing. I also bought a can of Chef Boyardee Ravioli this week. I must need comfort food.

. . . and, applesauce.

I almost bought some Kraft macaroni and cheese at the store today for the same reason - something about those childhood favorites brings more comfort than anything else!

There were a few times in my childhood when food was scarce so Totino's was a big deal. I've always like the pepperoni. It's hard to go wrong with pepperoni.

As for ravioli, it HAS to be the minis for me. They are my favorite.

I love mac 'n cheese too! Basically, I love all the cheap kids' foods, except SpaghettiOs. Those nauseate me and are absolutely disgusting. I have the same gut wrenching reaction to those as I do Vienna sausages.

*covers mouth*

For those times that I want comfort food but want to project adulthood, I pick up the Cracker Barrel mac 'n cheeses. I really like those too.

Basically, I love food.

As for dinner, I'm not sure what I'm going to have but I'm pretty sure I'm going to like it.

Because it's food.

Kätzchen 06-23-2018 08:54 AM

I'm roasting a few vegetables today for my organic salad tonight: Brussel sprouts, beets, parsnips and carrots.

I am going to see too, if adding a drop or two of liquid smoke to my vegan Caesar salad dressing will taste good, if so, then I'm using that as my Salad dressing. I'll probably put a touch of fresh horseradish in it too.

(Smoked Horseradish Caesar Salad dressing, atop roasted vegetables on an small bed of organic romaine lettuce).

Happyfemme 06-23-2018 01:57 PM

Roast beef, cheddar, and salad.

I am making Pork Carnitas. I am also going to try a recipe that I saw on the show called The Kitchen. It is roasted corn, roasted peppers, cooked onions and cheese added at the end. It is a spicy corn dip. A margarita to drink.

It was simply delish. :)

You mentioned naan, and I happen to have bought a small tub of it from the delicatessen, last time I went grocery shopping. Which, naan is simply scrumptious! :cheesy:

You have naan dough? You bake it yourself? That's awesome. I'm not bakey like that so I just buy this brand. It's delicious.

I used to live across the street from an International Grocery store, in an neighborhood out by the PDX airport, years ago. They have an in-house delicatessen where you can buy all sorts of house specialty foods, made fresh every day. I bought an ball of naan dough, there, made with Indian spices. It was simply delish.

There's another International grocery store out in Beaverton, which also sells freshly baked naan. They've got an website, whereas the store out by the airport doesn't, but here's an link to check out the International grocery store, west of Portland.
