OMFG, did I have some crazy dreams this morning!!! I only slept fitfully for about two and a half hours so I'm not sure how my brain did this much dreaming, but it did.

Dream #1: I was homeless again and really hungry and desperate for food. It was late at night and nothing was really open but I found this tiny dive of a fast food burger joint. I went in and there were no people, including no employees. The concept was that they cooked your burger for you and then you put everything you wanted on it out in the restaurant (if you can even really call it that) part of the place. Kinda like a salad bar. So there was food out and no one looking so I stole some and left.

I was out in the parking lot and there were two other homeless people who were going in there to steal food, but they were a lot older than me, and haggard looking, and kind of like what you might stereotypically think a homeless person. Anyways, what I ended up stealing was a bag of four kiwis, which makes no sense in the context of burgers but whatever.

So, then--this woman comes flying out of the restaurant into the parking lot, she was the owner, and she just started attacking the three of us and being really shaming over the fact that we were homeless in a very mean way. I yelled at her in defense of the two elderly homeless folks and beat her in the face with the bags of kiwis. Then I felt bad.

Ok, these dreams will be posted in stages LOL.

Boy did I have a weird one this morning. We were in the country at my grandparents' old house, and I was going to go fishing with who started out to be my brother. My brother turned into other people throughout the dream - some I recognized, some I did not.

We grabbed our fishing poles and headed out into the woods. All of the sudden we walk up on a little brown bear cub. It was very cute, but then I started getting nervous because I knew the mom had to be somewhere nearby.

We saw the mama bear further out and she started charging us, so we took off running. She caught up to us. We were cornered and she was roaring at us. I decided that maybe if we threw her some food, she would like us and not want to kill us. I started throwing cheese crackers at the bear (seriously lol). Well, it worked! The mama bear came over and sat down by us, and I started petting her. She had the softest fur that I had ever felt.

At this point, we decided it was best to go back to the house, so off we went. I was carrying the bear cub on my hip like a toddler and the mama bear was walking along with us. However now we have the addition of this large golden dog that was groomed to look like a lion (mane and tail). The dog also had extremely soft fur.

We get back to the house and my family is all there talking in the living room and they were basically like...why do you have a bear and lion with you? I explained that the dog was not a lion, but just groomed to look like one. They seemed fine with that explanation like it was completely normal. Before I woke up, I was lying on the floor petting the lion-dog's mane.

Clearly you have a fascination with soft fur and think that cheese crackers can solve any problem.

You're vegetarian even in your dreams? That's actually kind of cool.

Cailin 03-17-2015 09:25 PM

I had a dream that I lived with some woman, and she came home while I was asleep and tossed out all my soup that was cooking because "she didn't know"...

now, after the events of today, I interpret that dream to be "you're not eating your soup"

I cooked my irish soup (craibachan) .... and it was fine.. and withing the 5 minutes of moving burners, the entire bottom burned and the smell and taste penetrated the whole of the soup making it completely inedible.....

grrrrrrrr. very grrrrrrrr. I should have stuck with corned beef and cabbage.

Yep. :) I think once you've been a vegetarian for 25 years, your mind just doesn't even think to dream another way. (I feel incredibly old now saying how long I've been a vegetarian. Omg.)

Clearly, you started right out of the womb.

For some reason, our conversation reminds me of an interview I saw. It was back in the day (picture it: Sicily......or sometime in 1995) when Elizabeth Berkley was in Showgirls and the one thing she said really freaked her dad out wasn't the nudity and the subject matter of the film; it was that she ate a burger in it since she's been a vegetarian for forever.

I almost always dream. I had a period of a few years with not much dreaming but I dream nearly every morning now. Most of the time, I can't remember what I dream beyond a few minutes after I wake up but this morning's dream is still sticking with me in bits and pieces.

My dreams are typically sporadic and sliced and diced scenes and this was no exception. In this dream, there were Canadians, someone who represented an ex (I didn't recognize this at first. I was just really comfortable with the person.), chickens escaping from indoor fencing and a REPRINT button. Reprinting as in meaning how animals can print humans as their parents, for example. I was aware of what the button meant, although I did not discuss it with anyone in the dream. We, whoever we were, were in the middle of moving it appeared. Also there was a sled inside the house, which felt more like a laboratory than a home.

Weird, even for me.

I also had an interesting dream. By interesting, I mean it took me over half an hour of listening to thrasher and ass-kicking music to shake the feeling of it off. There were a lot of people that I know and/or used to know and I don't even know if some of them are still alive. It was almost apocalyptic and we were in this closed government office building and there were wires and things that looked bomb-ish connected to the toilets so we were trying to find other ways to use the bathroom (this part I understand because I had to go really bad when I woke up) and some woman accused me of rifling through someone's desk drawer (which I copped to) and using their rouge (which I did not do). Weird all the way around.

I took a nap this afternoon and was rewarded with this crazy dream.

I was at work and one of the guys I worked with was in a glass office with his boss who was giving him a quarterly review. I looked over and gestured to give some moral support to my coworker. I had a feeling it was going to be a bad meeting because this boss was reknowned as an infamous jerk around the office.

A little later, as I was getting ready to leave for the afternoon, I grabbed a notebook and looked over again to wave goodbye and noticed the boss pacing, and yelling at my coworker who was standing casually by a window, arms folded. I made another surreptitious gesture of support and solidarity and became very angry when I suddenly noticed the boss - who had a big mustache like in the 80s - was smoking furiously.

Then, in my own self-righteous indignation, I looked down and noticed a flaming cigarette in my own hand! I looked up and saw a sign that said "No fumar" with a picture of a cigarette and a circle with a line through it. This was odd only because I'm not Spanish so upon awakening I wondered why I'm suddenly dreaming in a language I don't speak very well.

Anyway, so I ran to the stairwell where fumar was apparently allowed, lol, and finished my cigarette. Then I went to my friend's house because there were two dirty square glass vases in the kitchen sink and I really wanted to wash them. They had sticky notes on them and one of the sticky notes said "Tommy." I don't know anyone named Tommy, so whatever.

Then I left and went to borrow the same friend's boat which was actually a bathtub - like one of those claw foot types. I got in the boat and took it out in the ocean. It was going very fast but didn't have a motor and I passed some people who looked familiar - I recognized one from my sangha - who were in their own boats.

Then my notebook and something else fell out of the boat. I wanted to look over the tall sides of the tub, but when I did it almost tipped over. I remember being very terrified at that time and I said to myself, "Smiling, you are on the ocean and you will die if you don't get serious about driving this bathtub."

I noticed a drain plug where a drain plug would normally be located in an old tub. I also vaguely remember thinking to myself what would happen if I pulled it out.

My seriousness overcame my fear and and I became hyper focused on piloting the vessel, but then the phone rang and woke me up and it was my friend whose vases I had washed in the dream calling. I recounted the dream and we both laughed so hard.

It was kind of a fun dream - it felt like I was in a cartoon - even though it wasn't animated and it was really scary at that one point where I stared my impending death in the face, lol.

I had a horrible nightmare once that I was in a hot tub and the lady below appeared out of nowhere and started trying to drown me. She was smiling the whole time.

I don't always wake and remember my dreams, but this morning I did and it's stayed with me.

My family had a shepard when I was growing up and she was smart, protective and I never minded taking her for walks. Anyhow, in my dream, we were on some kind of trail. She was off her leash and we heard voices, saw people, she took off running. I called to her to come back, she stopped, looked at me and went running again. She wanted me to follow her, but then I woke up. Not much of a dream, but I know it means something.

Last night I had a doozy....

so...

I had a very hot, very butch boss when I used to work at Home Depot many moons ago....

Last night I dreamed I was helping her reorganize her closet. It had a great footprint but was being used all wrong. Apparently I was a designer because I was planning a reconfiguration of the walkin and bathroom...I guess I watch too much DIY tv....

anywho...

As I'm plugging along I find a STACK of unopened boxer brief packages (which...I happen to know she wears....I just know..) From the floor, the pile was literally almost as tall as me...which isnt saying much but still...

THEN as I'm going along I started to find pretty frilly things. Bikini bottoms and such. She WAS a woman that could rock a bikini....

I dont really know where the dream was going...definitely not where I wanted it to....lol but it was still nice to see my long ago crush...even if it was in a dream <3

There must be something in the air. Wild dreams last night and this morning but I lost them upon waking. I made a choice to go to the bathroom versus writing it down and I lost it before I got back to bed. Only the unsettled feeling remains.

I don't always remember my dreams but I do have some I wish I didn't have. Lately they have been about people who have been in my life that in one way or another wasn't good for me, in these dreams they aren't even in the order they came in my life its like they fade in and out repetedly. I'm thinking why now?? They are and have been long gone for years, yes, they hurt me deeply but I'm not glutton for punishment...be gone all of you, I have made the mistakes of knowing all of you, I still have the mental scars from it all and have learned my lesson in trusting people who haven't earned the right to be in my life.

Last night I had a dream that I died. My family was at the house we lived in growing up and that my ex and I lived in after my dad died. I was sick and they said today would be the day. They cut these things out of my throat and I was carrying them in my hand. I was talking to my younger sister (she's my beneficiary on my annuity) and I told her I wanted her to take some of money and have me cremated and my ashes to be scattered around the firepit and the rest to be scattered at a beach and she could take her boys and have a vacation. Then I was talking to my older brother and told him he could have my jeep but I wanted him to keep it in the family. He said he didn't want it.

Then I saw my cousin who is dead and she was waving to me to come with her. I ran to the house and my family was leaving and no one could hear or see me. I tried talking to my nephews but nothing.

I woke up more than a little disturbed and even got a bit choked up when telling my mother about it. She said maybe it's a premonition. I'd better get my affairs in order.
