making baked oatmeal with peach chutney , the toppings will be walnuts & fresh blueberries w a splash of almond milk & toast..i lighted my hearth this morning, almost frosty this morning...still a little sleepy ..

i took some of the apple pie filling i made the other day and made an Apple hand pie for one..it's cooling now..serving with a homemade vegetable stew tonight w a corn muffin..i made the stew on the hearth ..it was fun! i made it in my cast iron dutch oven...i have enough for a couple of dinners this week...the colors on the maples are brilliant yellow and orange..i feel this is as close to heaven as a person can get, short of living in the wild wood,--- a cottage in the wood is my dream

beginning search for a new hand axe, this is easier said then done, i may have to go Canadian

cabin fever is real..when i lived in Alaska, it was a problem for many but i always looked forward..lots of things to do...some of my favorites-catching up on star gazing, going for a short spin in the diamond dust air, baking coffee cake, board games-my favorite was Scrabble and Monopoly reading several books i'd put on hold during busy months, making sure my heat plug to truck was secure etc..generator gased and ready, picking seeds for next spring, what i mean is, it was busy->in a pleasant way...you understand if you've ever been there.. just a few thoughts since winter is almost upon us
