The older I get the more I realize...

That I shop for "full coverage" instead of "demi"

That margarita's for lunch mean nap time in the afternoon...

Wryly 04-19-2010 01:52 PM

....that sometimes the anticipation is just as much fun as the actual event.

TOIGTMIR....things and people are rarely what they appear to be initially.

Blaze 04-19-2010 07:31 PM

TOIGTMIR <~That Im to tired to type that so I copied and paste.

... that the meaning of the word "friend" changes the older I become.

as a youngin: "I have this friend in school that...." (read: There is some other kid I know in school that...)

as an adult: "There is this person I work with..."

Everything is much simpler as a child :)

Blaze 04-19-2010 09:00 PM

Karma is a train I would rather ride than be hit by..

True love does come to those who wait but are not looking for it.

Friends seem to pop up or call just when you need them =)

If I have dirt mixed in with manure (garden) all over my hands then my nose will itch or I will knock off my glasses. :wateringgarden:

If clothes fit me right off the rack, they're very very ugly. :|

When I am giving Dino a bath, the phone will ring or someone will come to my front door. :bath:

After covering myself up with sunscreen, it never fails, Dino, or my adopted sister's poodles, will climb up on my lap. :tanning::paw::heartbeat:

The more I realize just how self serving most ppl are. That they give you lip service about caring and they don't really care. That lying comes quite easy to a lot of folks. That following your bliss is a line of bull. That doing what you love will bring you success is a line of bull. That everyone is good at something that they are made for and that should bring you the ability to be self sufficient... also bull. I seem to be knee deep in crap but with all that manure, I still can't bloom. I am sufficating. Burning up. :sadangel:

When driving or standing in a checkout lane, if you change lanes, the lane you left moves faster than the lane you moved too. :goat:

I HATE when that happens.....
what really irks me, is when my brand new chosen Lane should be faster by default {10 items or less!!}, and cashier asks for Mngr to clear Check...

I like my boundaries, and my limitations that I have set for myself. :basketball:

I like who and what I am. :pipe:

I am nothing like my father - thank God! I hope and pray I never am like him.

I am identical to my Grandfather - thank God! :builder:

BornBronson 04-29-2010 03:08 PM

I love hairy blokes. :superfunny:

diamondrose 04-29-2010 03:22 PM

The older I get the more I realize that true honest friends that you can count on to always be there are a true rareity.

The older I get the more I realize how much I truely enjoyed high school and how easy and simplified life was then. That all those things my mother told me growing up were spoken truth.

The older I get the more I realize how similar I am to my mom.

Passionaria 04-29-2010 04:08 PM

Life

That every person has their own story, and I am trying real hard to learn not to take their version of reality personally. It's hard, not to take the actions of another personally, but I am really trying. I can only take responsibility for my own story.......and beliefs.

:cat:

Strappie 04-29-2010 04:32 PM

The older I get, the more I realize........

Life is a gamble every day. I try my best to be the person my mom has brought me up to be. I've learned many things from life, relationships and even my job. I know that we can't always have the things we want but it's a gamble to go out and try to get them. I allow myself to show people who I really am and well that too is a gamble and doesn't always turn out the way I want it to. Sometimes we just have to say "fuck it" and say somethings are just not worth the gamble.

Someday.. I'll have all the things I've wanted, well that too is a gamble to say! :)

katzietootle 04-29-2010 06:15 PM

... that if you pursue happiness, it will elude you

Blaze 04-30-2010 06:58 PM

The older I get the more I realize;

That my taste buds have really changed.
Thing's I enjoyed as a child, taste like they should
be enjoyed by a child, I can't stand them now.

That the local channels on the T V are still the one's
I watch more than the cable were paying for.

That I still am amazed by the little flower that blooms
in a concrete cracks, then the one's in a flower pot.

That there is never enough time, and the months seem
to fly by faster than I can keep up with.

That I. Like my Mother. Have a tendency to check the
obituarie's daily.

Lillie 05-04-2010 08:46 AM

that people never react the way you think they will. You get up each day hoping that today will be the day you do something that will leave your mark..I know how blessed I am in my life..I know that I am a good person and I have alot of love in my life. But there are times I forget to love the one person who means the most...and that would be ME..and by the time I realize I have expelled all my energy making all those around ME happy and content..there is nothing left for me..I feel drained and weak..So since I grow older everyday..I guess the older I get the more I realize I need to stop worrying about how others will react to my decisions and choices and make sure that the choices I make everyday are the ones that make me smile...

Today I am smiling because I am loved..

NJFemmie 05-04-2010 09:10 AM

You have to do a lot more of this at yourself, but more importantly, to most of the things around you.

That the best company, friends and that uncommon solidarity—the unspoken kind when you take a bow with fellow actors and you're united in front of the audience
and your here the roar of the crowd.

I realize how much miss the theater.
