thanks everybody

I said to my s.o.:

I have heard of only one of the artists on this CD. Wow.

(and I actually like to think of my taste as really funky/weird/indie/diverse)

I LOVE new music!!!

Gemme 09-14-2010 01:41 PM

Organic and I saw Diva's cds and we're stoked about participating at a later date. Our burning aparatus...aparati?...is being a bit hateful right now, so we have to beat it up a little bit, but after that, we're SO in!

Sue, I loved your artwork too! I can't wait until we're up and functional and we can send you all our music! :)

I hope they are on the way and that you like the one I sent! :) I just got mine yesterday.

Chancie 09-14-2010 04:28 PM

I am tentatively considering the possibility of participating.

I am not experienced at this new fangled technology, so

I need a lot of time to get ready.

We are split into groups and you make CD's for the group. I think I made 5?

This time we sent the CD's to Medusa to distribute since someone was worried about the group having their address. I think it might be fun to receive each CD from group members to make things easier for the Admins and to we get them on different days, to enjoy individually.

Start NOW! :)

My problem is picking what direction I want to go musically. Whether I want random songs, a theme, or to pour out my heart and soul with music that reflects where I am and what I am thinking when I make the CD like I did this time. :glasses:

Chancie 09-14-2010 04:33 PM

I participated a couple of years ago, and

We were divided into groups by some wise soul and

We only learned the addresses of the people in our small group.

Chancie 09-14-2010 04:34 PM

I tried a theme last time, but I fretted so much, it was ridiculous.

And, I am not that sophisticated about music, to tell you the truth, so

I was afraid my CDs were dull.

I like the idea of sending them individually - as I have no problem with Planeteers having my address :)

I will subscribe so that I can find out what group I am in...

My tastes run the gamut lol and I expect I will send a smattering of everything I enjoy and hope they will be enjoyed as well.

Scorp 09-14-2010 06:19 PM

Take 2....Let the 2nd CD swap begin!

First and foremost, thanks to all of you for the cd's received.

So how is the 2nd exchange going to work, who in what group, etc...

I know, I know, let's just sit back and enjoy all the cd's we received first and allow enough time to regroup and think about the 2nd swap.

However, I'm a planner. Sickening I know and no comments from the peanut gallery either! But <shrug> that's how Scorpi rolls. And yep, I already started making the 2nd CD right after sending the first group of them off to Medusa...I love this stuff...

It was pretty interesting to see the different varieties of music that you peeps enjoy musically.

And, I'm diggin the cd artwork on them. Very creative...

Best,

-Scorp-

Medusa 09-14-2010 06:22 PM

I've been jamming to some new music! Discovered some new artists and re-discovered some artists that I had forgotten I liked :)

Im down with doing another one! <3

SassyLeo 09-14-2010 06:29 PM

I brought the CD's to work...

Thanks to everyone who participated. I am expanding my music horizons!

Gemme 09-14-2010 06:29 PM

How soon after from making the groups did you all send the cds out? Organic and I could participate (individually...2 cds from us in 1 package as our musical preferences are quite different from one another) if there's a little bit of time before you all get under way.

Otherwise we'll catch you on the following round from now.

suebee 09-14-2010 07:37 PM

I'm up for another one - even if I haven't bought any music since 19** .:| Naw, that's not quite true! ;) But I'd at least like enough time to listen to the CD's I just got! :seeingstars: The only place I listen to CD's is in the car though, so you know what that means? ROAD TRIP!!! :carride:

tonaderspeisung 09-14-2010 08:00 PM

i rocked my way through all the cd's from this swap
i was so wrapped up in the music i almost ended up street pizza - it was awesome
excellent mixes from my group indeed

Logicaly 09-15-2010 08:32 PM

Thank you Andy! xoxoxoxo
So glad you like it!

I was going for music you might hear in a swampy back alley here in the US or in Buenos Aires and how different, yet the same music that only recently has gained respect can be...like Tango and Blues. River Music from Rio de la Plata, Chicago, Muscle Shoals...

So glad you like it, I may have overthought it a bit. :)

suebee 09-16-2010 02:06 PM

Kia and I give ALL the CD's two thumbs.....uh .....claws up!

She really is a MARVELOUS dancer!

I, on the other hand, do the computer chair boogie. :|

suebee 09-16-2010 07:23 PM

Is anybody other than me willing to make more than five copies of the next mix? If we were able to get, say - ten planeteers who were greedy.... ;) I mean, keen enough to do that and in turn get ten mixes back, it would be great. Personally I found that the biggest part of the work went into selecting and then narrowing down the choices for the CD, so making more copies didn't involve all that much more time or effort. Just an idea.

Chancie 09-16-2010 07:27 PM

Okay, I'll do it. Oy.

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

dixie 09-16-2010 10:01 PM

I got mine this week and was so thrilled!! Thanks to everyone. I was so excited to see everyone's different tastes, and found a lot of new artists that will surely become favorites.

I got all happy cause one cd (and I'm not sure who it was from because I didn't see a name) had a lot of my favorite artists/songs. It was nice to see someone with a similar taste as me. There were three things on that cd that really stood out to me.
(1)Rob Zombie - cause everybody who knows me knows I'm a huge Zombie fan...
(2)Walk the Line remix - which has been my fav road trip song for quite some time...i just love it...lol
(3)Du Hast - because Rammstein is one of my all-time fav bands...I have mutliple variations of Du Hast, but for some reason this was the first time I had EVER heard the English version. I got so excited I squealed like a lil girl! :D

Yay! I'm so ready for round 2! :)

Sure I can. I make a bunch of copies and gave them out to many of my friends.

However, some people are on fixed incomes and it might be expensive for them?

But for me? the more the merrier! I am listening to your CD this afternoon BTW!

I certainly don't think everyone will want to do more than five. However, for those of us who are able and willing to do more, it certainly is a cost-effective (and fun!) way to expand one's music library.

Abigail Crabby 11-04-2010 07:34 PM
