i'm in a v relationship. i have one partner whom i've been with for about 7 years (r.) and one who i've been with for a year (c.). both relationships were close distance to begin with and are currently long distance, as they're in the process of moving to where i live now. both relationships are long-term and deeply committed - r. and i have lived together in the past, and we are all planning to move in together once everyone is in the same place. c. is definitely moving in the next 6 months; r.'s situation is more up in the air. re: how's it working...the long distance has strained things a bit and may actually mean that the structure of my relationship with r. might change. things are working really well, though :) i think there might be a bit of growing pains if i were to introduce a new person but overall i feel really good about things. it's just frustrating waiting - c.'s really having a rough time where he is right now so we're all just ready for him to be in kansas. i didn't plan for things to work out this way - i didn't enter into polyamory wanting any specific kind of arrangement, and i still don't - i'd be open to other styles in the future. it's just accidentally worked out like an episode of sister husbands or something ;) and it works pretty well for us. |

Jeez, can I have Ferret’s truth?? And she kinda skipped outta here on that one, just sayin… I always played with myself? Got good at it by 11 or 12? And now? A couple of times a day if the hormones are flowing…not for a couple of weeks if the hormones are not flowing. Lordy, folks, it's gettin dangerous in here! |
^5 Turtle...you are a great sport...good job...

Seeing all of those visitor messages with the word VAGINA splashed across them, I had to come in here to see if it was a dare or just you all acting crazy! :)
lol, seeing it that many times, it looks like a damn battle cry on my page ... Vagina!! -- like Tawanda!! only better. :winky: |
I thought I answered my truth....Um....So, you want one, Turtle? Lemme see here. K, got one.
What is the wildest thing you have ever done in your life so far? Oh, and I'll take another truth :) |
ferret, if you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live and why? :)
|
WILD...I don't know if I know wild....or if we would consider the same things wild.
I, at one time, was know to throwing things - eggs, mudballs, snowballs, firecrakers, m80s...yeah, very bad, unsupervised child... Looked at a friend after a night of drinking too much and said "ROAD TRIP"...took a 6 and a half hour drive to Ithaca with nary a toothbrush or an extra pair of underwear in the car... Got on a plane and flew 2500 miles to meet someone I'd been talking to... I don't know, none of that seems particularly WILD...maybe there is good stuff I don't remember from the days when I was stoned a lot... although...I didn't ask for another truth...and Parker still has that gleem in 'is eye... :sunglass: |
So, I lived in Minnesota til 2006. And then I ended up in KY. Funny how I always said I wanted to live somewhere different, but ended up here *sighs* Honestly, if there was one place I could live, I think I'd move back home to MN in a heartbeat. It's where my family still is, and there's a lot of things that I miss about it.

I'm back from an absolutely wonderful vacation, and I have some dares, if you're not too chicken!!!!!!! And my welcome wagon friend might need to screen them first , because my dares are not for the thin skinned, faint hearted.

I hate to cop to this but it is the truth: I learned as a kid to tune out when someone prattles on and on. My mother was an elementary school teacher and everythin but everything was a "lesson" for her to teach me something. My worst subject was math. I really hated it. There actually is a good reason for this which I will spare you before someone wants to tell me to shut the f up. Anyway, my mother would sit me at the kitchen table, lean over and with her smokers breath ( she long ago quit smoking but used to smoke a pack a day when I was a kid) and would go on and on trying to get my brain to understand fractions. I was aged 9 or 10. Inside my head I would be screaming shut the f up, let me escape but perfected the art of nodding my head, looking interested and acting like I understood what she was saying. I may even have disassociated a little as I could look on the outside as though I was listening and understanding but did not have a clue as to what she was talking about. When I went to college, I had to get tutors or never would have passed chemistry, statistics or pharmacology! To this day, sometimes I still get stuck on a fraction. :) |
done
I posted it, Jagg. That was easy?

That was way easy. Be glad I'm not playing. :) But I doubt anyone would take any of my dares that would actually do it. |

Greco, If I may be the one to ask you your truth? I can tell from your prior posts that your job has been both your vocation and your avocation. 1. What has been the most meaningful aspect of your job over the years? 2. What has been the least rewarding and most frustrating aspect of the job? Thank you. |
Waiting for a truth from someone....

1. What person during your life had the greatest impact on you, in a positive manner and why? (The period of time can be either short or long-it is the impact that matters, not the length of time). 2. The person that had the most negative impact and why? Neither person needs to be named or identified specifically, unless you choose to do so. Thank you. |
i'll take another truth! still too chicken for a dare.
arkansaspiscesgrrl, i loved your "truth"! hehehehe :) |
Anya
Great questions Anya. I'll take some time to answer them
with the sincerity with which they were asked. Greco Quote:

On the flip side, I would say the person that has made a negative impact on me has been my father. I haven't spoken to him in 18 years by my choice. He's an alcoholic, has a hell of a temper when he's drinking (as far as I know, he still does), so I figure I'm better off without having that toxic influence in my life. Maybe part of the reason I'd rather keep people at a safe distance from me is because of him, and there's definitely some unresolved issues from my past. He never really had a good handle on his temper, either; I suppose there were certain things I picked up from him, as well as my brother. However, I never use my past as an excuse for how I am now. That's way more honest than I planned on being in this post, but I suppose no one can never accuse me of not being honest. Sue |
aishah, here's a truth for you:
When have you loved someone who has not loved you back? Sue |
breakthrough
I’ll use my day job only to answer Anya.
2. What has been the least rewarding and most frustrating aspect of the job? The drastic change in the field of mental health of the, at this point, monopoly of managed care companies (insurance), has been a disaster for client care. Politics, and money does not make the best foundation for treatment in the mental health/psychotherapy process. It has been frustrating, to say the least, and is certainly the least rewarding aspect of my work. 1. What has been the most meaningful aspect of your job over the years? Answering the first one last: One of the most meaningful aspects of my work with people has been to see what incredible resilience we embody. Despite the losses, violence, trauma, apathy, and depression we eventually find our way through the abyss (the dark night of the soul ) to personal strength, and spiritual fortitude. I have the honor of being present to remarkable recoveries. Today was one such day, when a client’s tears were not of her breakdown, but her break through. I was awe-struck with the energy of love in my office this afternoon. I could go on, but will leave it here. Thanks Anya, Greco Quote:
