The Government of India initiated a study that was carried out by the Centre for Earth Science Studies (Tropical Botanic Garden and Research Institute). They concluded that the red-rain is a result from water droplets interacting with airborne spores from land based algae. |

_SOMETIMES ...we just need a bright splash of color ... no matter how good or bad the day has been - it reminds us of beauty ... even when we "think" the day has not held any - maybe we need to look with our heart (and) our eyes...not just our eyes...because as we all know...there is so much beauty (within) ... so much brilliance...so much love...let's not miss it in the "busyness" of our day...I am as guilty as the next - and this picture caught me by surprise - and reminded me ... to stop and be thankful for those I love and care about ... no matter what my day has been... |

Sakurajima Volcano with Lightning

Pictured above, the Sakurajima volcano in southern Japan was caught erupting in early January. Magma bubbles so hot they glow shoot away as liquid rock bursts through the Earth's surface from below. The above image is particularly notable, however, for the lightning bolts caught near the volcano's summit. |
