Smiles...

Today I finally got that pack of 101 cookie cutters. This is a good thing because each Christmas I make cookies for friends and mail them out. They will be put to good use and very soon since I owe a friend Raisin Filled Cookies from Christmas. I made her squeal today because I asked if she would like cookies in different shapes this time. *Smiles. Life. Is. Good. I. Am. Blessed.

On the way home from the airport, I stopped off at the Oregon Humane Society, and picked up Eider, a 9 year old Chesapeake Bay Retriever (one of my favorite breeds, and the breed name reminds me of my Baby, who lives by the Bay). He will be doing a trial run here this week with my dog and cats, to see if he wants to make this his forever home.

So far, AWESOME! Eider, Obi, and I have been playing in the yard all afternoon, while I waited for Gaige's flight to arrive in Maryland. The boys are really getting along swimmingly, and there have been no cat incidents yet.

Edited to add:

The reason I picked Eider, is because he is a senior. No dog belongs in a shelter, but a dog that has limited years left, certainly shouldn't be forced to live them in a place with so little human contact. Please consider adopting an elderly or disabled dog and giving them the loving home they need.

The WAY she looked at me on Skype when she saw I had shaven my facial hair away. She was so surprised; she liked it. It makes my features more boyish, makes me look a great deal younger than 41 (next month).

But her expression though, the way she smiled and her eyes lit up-- cannot BUY a feeling that good.

Sending out the first minutes in my tenure as F&E Secretary.

a very happy birdie that seems to have learned an alarm clock noise and keeps repeating it as loud as he can. He's so happy though that it's hard to be annoyed.

Thank you for possibly adopting Eider. Your love for animals warms my heart!

Btw -- Could Eider be any cuter?!?

You know, I don't think he could be any cuter. I'm guessing he will use this to manipulate me...lol :)

Last night, I was reading a description of the Chesapeake Bay Retriever's temperament...

I read:

"Very loyal, strong willed, and protective of their people..."

Gaige said:

"Sounds like a description of me!"

:)
