I tried something new that I found while wandering around the grocery store. Probably a lot of y'all have tried these before but I never had. I'm new to eating vegetarian.

I used it to make tacos. (As pictured on the bag - that's what made me buy them. I'm so suggestive.) They were extremely yummy. I will definitely be making these again!! :chef:

candy_coated_bitch 08-24-2019 05:24 PM

I had a falaffel sandwich, three pierogies, and a salted caramel whoopie pie at lunch and this afternoon. I'm still not ready for dinner. Also had a glass of wine. We went to a food truck festival and it was so good!!!

FireSignFemme 08-24-2019 07:02 PM

Celery sticks, ranch dip, grape tomatoes. Hamburger patty with a slice of cheddar cheese on one slice of Dave's Killer Bread with mayo and a little ketchup. Coffee with cream, and some water to drink.

They are great for tacos and loose meat burritos! I have used them in spaghetti sauce as well. You can also have a loose meat dish with the crumbles, some sautéed veggies and shredded cheese. With or without a starch. Rice and quartered red potatoes are my fave. And let's not forget making your own sloppy joes. Add in some diced onion and bell pepper with a little sauce and you are good to go. They are very versatile!

nycfem 08-24-2019 08:24 PM

Dinner was delicious tonight.

I made an omelet with yellow bell peppers, onions, black pepper, and unsweetened ketchup, along with morningstar veggie strips (aka meatless "bacon").

Then for dessert I had Greek yogurt with blueberries, bananas, cinnamon, and kamut puffs.

The day after Labor Day I start back at my job (working at a school), so I hope I will be able to cook. It's so much easier to do during the summer when I am not working.

I went shopping for fresh produce today and got seriously good buys!

Romaine, Lemon-pepper Cucumbers, huge field-size tomatoes, Red sweet Bell Peppers, Carrots, and Pumpkin Brownies (vegan) - which are sooooooooo good.

I'm having a salad and one (!) slice of the pumpkin brownie cake.

<<<<<<<<~~ Loves pumpkin brownies.

Welcome to the site, moonstone!

I had pepperoni pizza for dinner and a wee bit of vanilla pineapple ice cream for dessert and an oj/pom juice mocktail to drink. Water afterwards and for the rest of the night.

nycfem 08-25-2019 07:28 PM

For dinner I had some iwon organic siracha protein chips (like a healthier, hotter version of Doritos), a Rawmantic vegan vanilla bar, tofu "egg salad" with pickles, and black bean soup with sour cream. It was a hodgepodge of a dinner.

GeorgiaMa'am 08-25-2019 07:35 PM

I didn't have dinner tonight because I went to my family reunion today, and I ate so much for lunch that I'm not hungry.

Last night I made:
- meatloaf with ketchup on top
- corn on the cob
- sauteed asparagus
and we had fresh peaches with a sprinkle of sugar for dessert

Femmewench 08-25-2019 07:39 PM

My niece and I made my papa's (grandfather) red spaghetti sauce this afternoon. After that was simmering, she made a no-bake Peanuty Butter thing with melted chocolate on top. Tasted like a Reese's peanut butter cup.

Lyte 08-25-2019 09:08 PM

Green, yellow, red bell peppers sauteed altogether, lil bit of london broil and some roasted oregano potatoes. :koolaid:

Over the weekend I made a cheesy broccoli rice casserole to take for lunches this week. Monday nights I work late so I had it for dinner too. It was the first time I had made it. It was really yummy so I will definitely make it again! Recipe here.

And sounds delicious!! :tease:

*~^~*~^~*~^~*~^~*~^~*

As for me I can't decide what to have for dinner I'm kind of tired so I'm thinking about having a frozen meal. But after reading about the ziti I kind of want Italian. I have some turkey meatballs in the freezer and some pasta and pasta sauce in the cupboard. If I get a second wind, I might make that. Hmmm....

Kätzchen 08-27-2019 07:36 PM

I did not have much of an appetite today.... (it's terribly hot outside) …, but I finally had something to eat: Garden salad first, washed it down with Carrot juice and now I'm having a rather big piece of Carrot Cake.

A side of water is next.

Wrang1er 08-28-2019 12:25 PM

Spaghetti with meat sauce.

Mopsie 08-28-2019 05:15 PM

For the first time in my life I made scrambled eggs in a mug. (in the microwave) I added some cheese during the second part and it was delicious!! :)

Probably y'all have done this before but just in case there's someone who hasn't here's the link.

Dining Al fresco on a warm summer evening...

I went out to dinner with a friend at work: She had this amazing veggie/salad wrap and sweet potato fries. I had a vegetarian Gyro (no meat) and sweet potato fries. We both had happy hour mixed drink cocktails.... and we commiserated about life (in general) and watched the sun go down and the pedestrian traffic go by.

Tons of good calories, but very relaxing after work activity.

<<<<<<<~~ I walked back to my car after dinner (maybe a five blocks of walking?), very slowly. I went window shopping for dessert.

GeorgiaMa'am 08-29-2019 05:56 PM

- a smoked turkey sandwich
- applesauce
- an oatmeal raisin cookie

Gemme 08-29-2019 05:57 PM

I had my last piece of pizza with some water and then my sweet tooth kicked in and I had a s'mores cookie and some cotton candy ice cream.

Bèsame* 08-29-2019 06:03 PM

Salanta is catering a salad bar down at the leasing office. I'm headed that way now ! Yay, to being able to partake, and not having a wacky schedule.

Orema 08-29-2019 06:42 PM

Princess 08-29-2019 07:35 PM

I made roasted lemon chicken but I would have rather had this!

Mopsie 08-30-2019 07:30 AM

Not feeling well today so probably rice for dinner or crackers. However - if I feel a little better I might try a baked potato. Woot!

Wrang1er 08-30-2019 10:00 AM

It will be pancakes and bacon!

easygoingfemme 08-30-2019 01:59 PM

I made a casserole that has a bed of wild rice topped with sauteed brussels sprouts, cubed butternut squash, cubed chicken breast, garlic, basil, thyme, and topped with slivered almonds and dry cranberries. Hope it will be good.

Also, a boatload of pasta with butter for the boys....
