I went to the doctor and got some zofran. I felt so much better after that. I'm going to have to keep some zofran on hand at all times! Anyhow I went ahead and made a baked potato. It was so very yummy! :tease:

Zofran is a miracle drug when you have nausea. I wish they would sell it otc and you didn't need a prescription.

For dinner I had:
- chicken fingers with honey mustard sauce
- lima beans
- corn on the cob
- a tiny slice of tomorrow morning's almond coffee cake

Kätzchen 08-30-2019 09:18 PM

I am still feasting on produce I bought the other day: Dark green romaine leaves, thinly sliced carrots, red bell pepper, tomato and kale; topped off with watered down Caesar dressing -- I cut the dressing with coconut milk and add chia seeds to it, to make it last longer.

Dessert: almond roll bites (3), one ginger snap, and a glass of carrot juice on the side.

I will sip on water all evening long (I gotta catch up somehow).

I made fried green tomatoes. They were just okay. Mom likes them with regular flour and I like to use seasoned flour. I did it her way.

I like to add a little corn meal to my flour, but I’m down for the all-flour way, seasoned or not. Sounds delicious.

I’m taking a tip from Mopsie and am having a baked potato with butter and sour cream with blueberries and cream for dessert.

I have heard about the corn meal. I like to use Kentucky Kernel Seasoned flour. It gives it a nice little kick.

Blueberries would be nice for dessert. (Hint hint)

My son is taking me out to breakfast. My original plan was to only eat home cooked meals unless I was at their place or in the hospital or something. However it didn't last. Both J and my son are leading such busy lives they usually take me to a restaurant so while I chow down they can have a break and enjoy a meal too. Right now I'm busy planning my relapse, however I'll regret my decision later and make up for it tonight by having just some meat ick something, probably a plain baked chicken breast with a bunch of salt on it. Well at least I don't have high blood pressure because I really love salt. There's nothing already salted that I don't need to put more salt on, even jerky tastes better if it's dipped in salt. Bet if I had a past life it would have been as a member of some primitive tribe where we all celebrated life by holding hands and dancing in a circle together around some statue made of salt. Well quite obviously if that were the case Lot's wife wouldn't be a member of our tribe. Shit she'd probably be the statue! Now that's just plain wrong, thinking a thought like that.

I'm not sure what else I'm having but I know for sure I'm having deviled eggs!

I'm going to a barbecue. The first thing I asked was if they were having deviled eggs. :cheesy:

Hope if you're going to a barbecue they have them there too!

My mom and I made deviled eggs for last weekend's family reunion. My Aunt Rava made some too, and hers were better - but mine were prettier. And they were all tasty. She went the sweet pickle relish route, and I went with dill.

Tonight I had:
- a tuna salad sub from Subway
- half of a pumpkin pie Blizzard from DQ

Yes, it involved two drive thrus - plus a third at The Milk Jug for beer - but you gotta do what you gotta do. It's pumpkin pie Blizzard season!

PlatinumPearl 09-02-2019 07:40 PM

Dinner...

A leafy green salad with cucumber, avocado, mango, nectarine and blueberries, with a light sprinkle of hemp hearts and sunflower seeds. I didn't add any vinegar or lemon to dress the salad I enjoyed the flavours as is and found it didn't need anything more.

I may or may not have had four deviled eggs at the barbecue. And they were delicious! When I make deviled eggs myself I use the sweet relish but they never look very good.

At the barbecue I also had baked beans, pasta salad, and grilled mushrooms. Yum!

BTW: now I really want a pumpkin pie Blizzard

GeorgiaMa'am 09-03-2019 06:45 PM

Tonight it was:
- pizza with Italian sausage and mushrooms
- about a quarter of a pumpkin pie Blizzard

Mopsie 09-04-2019 01:17 AM

I cut up some veggies and threw them into some pre-made pasta salad I got at the grocery store. I did this cuz I didn't feel like making anything. But it turned out to be a very tasty meal. Four stars.

Gemme 09-04-2019 01:27 PM

I had crispy rounds with pico de gallo with water and ice cream.

GeorgiaMa'am 09-04-2019 07:00 PM

- the last quarter of a pumpkin pie Blizzard
- a pumpkin Pop Tart
- leftover pizza

CherryWine 09-04-2019 07:20 PM

My parents and I tried out a new Thai restaurant tonight. I had a red curry with seafood...shrimp, scallops, mussels, and squid. Dinner was quite good, and the company was even better. :)

Chad 09-04-2019 08:48 PM

Dinner

We had homemade burgers and fries.
I am getting a craving for those punkin pie bizzards GeorgiaMa'am posted about, sounds tasty.

:eating:

girl_dee 09-05-2019 06:25 PM

Homemadeburgers and salad for me, add baked tater for the Mister

CherryWine 09-05-2019 07:31 PM

I roasted some broccoli to have along with some Gardein “chicken” tenders. Not the best meal ever, but it served its purpose.

GeorgiaMa'am 09-05-2019 08:15 PM

- a PB&J - apple jelly
- applesauce
- oatmeal raisin cookie

Kätzchen 09-05-2019 08:54 PM

two small vegan meatless patties; a small handful of broccoli buds and a miniature wedge of cabbage, steamed gently, then served with melted Chao Field Roast 'Cheese'. I smothered it all in my vegan Caesar dressing, though.

Carrot juice and water, on the side.

Mopsie 09-06-2019 04:36 AM

I treated myself to Indian takeout last night. I got my favorite dish Saag Paneer (spinach and cheese) as well as some vegetarian samosas.

It was super yummy! :)

Kätzchen 09-07-2019 06:00 PM

I'm making my own version of John Chung's Spicy Korean Teriyaki (LINK), except I'm using vegan meatless meat patties (soy free, non-gmo, organic).

I've got it simmering on the stove and it should be ready soon, it smells so good.

If you would like, I found it on the EATER website, which features popular cuisine choices from many big cities in the US. Here's a link to the website, in case you'd like to find awesome cuisine near you.

Last night was green eggs and Sham. Green eggs = eggs with spinach, green peppers, and onions, Sham = Facon (veggie "bacon"). For dessert I had Greek yogurt with blueberries, kamut puffs, banana, and cinnamon.

Tonight was a mixed green salad with hearts of palm, kidney beans, balsamic vinegar, apple cider vinegar, and apple. Then I had a veggie burger and a veggie hot dog with Amy's mustard and a pickle.

Both dinners were ab fab!

Crock-pot Sunday Soup

The fall rains have come back to our area, and it's a bit chilly today, after weeks of being sultry warm outside. So I found my crock-pot, so I can have soup, all week long.

My starter batch soup, includes several types of beans (1/4 cup, each): northern white beans, navy beans, butter beans and a sprinkle of black beans. I soaked them last night by adding a pinch of salt and a splash of ACV to the water. I just rinsed them off, this morning. So, I start with 1 quart spring water and half of one small carton of organic vegetable broth. Add the presoaked beans. Cook on high setting for about 5 hours. Once the beans have softened, I add minced organic celery, sweet onion and roasted cloves of garlic (all of this fits into less than a cup of fresh veggies). Then I recap the crock-pot and let that simmer for about an hour, on low heat. Right before I have a bowl of soup, I take a fresh field tomato (the vintage heritage type tomato) and slice off a few sections and chop those up, to put on top of the bowl of soup. I also like to have a bouquet of fresh basil, so I can pinch off a leaf and lay it on the soup too. I like my bean soup to be on the 'watery' side, so I can have a few crackers with the soup or a tiny few slices of a rustic baguette type bread (two or three tiny slices). I spread a bit of warmed coconut oil on the crackers or bread, then season it slightly with cardamom or any spice I might be craving (sometimes it's cinnamon or as simple as sea salt and freshly cracked pepper corns).

So this is what I am having tonight: Soup. :balloon:

Bon Appétit

GeorgiaMa'am 09-08-2019 06:41 PM

- grilled cheese sandwich
- cream of tomato soup
- pumpkin Pop-Tart

nycfem 09-08-2019 06:56 PM

Tonight I had popcorn. I love popcorn! Also some pickles and tofu "egg" salad. Some vegetable soup. And some pre-cooked store-bought tofu in BBQ sauce. And a Rawmantic vegan vanilla bar. It was like a weird potluck.

You had me at grilled cheese and lost me at tomato soup. I'm neutral about the Pop-Tart.

I love meals like that because it's a little bit of everything.

Tonight, I had cereal. I mixed up Grain Berry and Blueberry Cheerios cereal with banana slices and almond milk. Usually I also add in fresh blueberries but I didn't feel like it tonight.

Orema 09-09-2019 03:06 AM

Last night was baked chicken, sweet potato, brussel sprouts, followed by a popsicle.

nycfem 09-09-2019 06:01 PM

I made a dish with Brussels Sprouts, garlic powder, EVOO, feta cheese, beets, artichoke hearts, avocado and lentils.
