Tonight, for all you followers of my "Last Ditch School of Cooking", we will be having an "Indian" curry: fry some chicken parts, add a can of curry. Might work well with Uncle Ben's Minute Rice.

Goulash, which I made this fall and froze for a day like today when I want something good but am too lazy or busy to make it.

Strange people have strange dinners.

So tonight I did some experimenting in the kitchen that came out pretty unappetizing. I ate it anyway because I don't waste food. I'm almost embarrassed to post what I thought might make a good recipe, but alas I'm with friends here, and I need to process this one.

First I baked brussel sprouts with balsamic vinegar and garlic. Smelled good when they came out, could have been the start of something decent. It always fools me that everything smells so good as long as it's coming out of an oven. Anyway...

So then I stir-fried them with carrots, bell pepper, yellow onion, scallions, tofu shirataku noodles, and sechzuan sauce. That might have been okay but now is where I hang my head in shame. I added:

maple syrup, peanut butter, curry powder, cucumber, lettuce (!), hot chili sauce, and lime juice.

I have a terrible tendency to get excited and overpower things with a mishmash of clashing flavors.

Said BB kindly, "Maybe you could try a cooking class, Honey."

There are times major canned junk food is on my list. Tonight is one of those nights. I am going to chow down on Hormel canned tamales with crackers and ketchup. Red of course is having something much more healthy but will not reveal it to me.
