here are some of my thoughts:

I did not know they could grow bugs that big
your bugs never die
Me and Fire ants are not friends
in any way shape or form
Fire ants don't die
they do bite
I do get sick
it isn't fun
why don't you all learn to drive in the snow?
seriously:|
if it makes you feel better
I went to Florida once and didn't like it there either

lol...I loved your description Ami.....

Diva.....
The closest we ever came to TX was to go around it at the very top of the state as we went from west to east...

But WA state.....
Imagine being able to drive through so many parks with gigunda conifers all year round....
To hear the gulls overhead when you are by the waterfront off of Puget Sound....
The scent of rain(which is where my wife would go---"OMG! That's everyday!"
But......The overcast skies....That can get to you if you aren't use to it....

Where we are now....Now, that is the best of both coasts....
A beautiful state park that has such a unique habitat for wildlife...
You can get anywhere you want in the city in just 15 minutes....
The snowfall makes you want to curl up with a good book and tea----
That and learn how to turn your car into a snowmobile....lol
In the spring and summer, there is nothing like watching the trees come back to life with color....
And the general population here are sooooo nice!...I mean genuinely nice...
That was the biggest adjustment we had to make----We weren't expecting it.
And if you like to travel, you are only an 1 hour and a half away from Ohio and upstate NY...

Ami....You were in all the wrong towns! ;)
You come to Austin, sis, I'll show You & The Corkscrew a good time! ;) Austin is amazing....

And by the by....I learned how to drive in snow and ice in VA....but You're right about THAT.....one snowflake and these guys flake right out! I have learned to stay off the roads when we get the rare snowfall.....I'm safer that way! :)

lol....WA state is a love/hate kind of state...At least, that's what I've observed over the years....I've heard alot about Austin....It reminds me sort of how my wife describes Atlanta to me....

I don't 'hate' WA.....in fact, I find WA very lovely. I just don't wanna live there. Austin is my hometown....simple as that. :)

I understand what you are saying Diva.....However, the "love/hate" statement I made was just an oversimplified statement representing the comments I've heard over the years from others....It's not so much a "hate" as it is, like you said, but a preference for where you want to live....For example, I would love to visit Atlanta where my wife lived for a time....But, I sure wouldn't want to live there...Erie is our hometown....:D

I have a confession.....I know, wrong thread....but You're gonna read it anyway! ;)

My confession is.......I am embracing the imperfect in my art. <GASP!!!!> Mon DIEU! How can zis BE??????

It's true. The sides of Your cards are......are.....RIPPED, not cut with scissors. :| They are.....they are unEVEN!

And now.....if that were not enough.....my favorite 'stamp' has become the top end of a champagne cork because it is SPLOTCHY and not perfectly round!

I KNOW!

This confession brought to You by an imperfect artist.
Let us pray.

Our Diva is coloring outside the lines. Imperfect art is the best. I used to paint in the stressful realistic style, and now, love natural art.

You can order canvas online from ASW and have it delivered. Link*

PS.
Want you to know, I really did not make 8 X 12 " cards. I hand cut and trimmed the 5 " X 7" card stock to 4" X 6" before beginning my creations, to be in compliance with the Wrangler's rules

So........I sent my Sketchbook Project off today ~ just under the wire as it's supposed to be postmarked by tomorrow ~ and I was so overwhelmed that I was letting this book go after investing so much in it.

I cried at the Post Office.

That surprised me, really.....I wasn't expecting THAT at ALL! But after so many hours and days and weeks of working on this thing ~ this piece of my heart ~ letting it go was as though I HAD lost a piece of my heart....

So I'm grieving a little..........for my Happy Thoughts Sketchbook......

Diva 01-15-2011 08:46 AM

Tommi....

I got Your Heartless Valentines!!!!! Thanks!!! (I haven't opened them yet....)

My "Things That Changed Other Things" Sketchbook went out yesterday too.
It was a different feeling than when one of my paintings or sculptures sell.

I had cuddled it with me in the car, at work, in the morning and at night. My companion that was such good , quiet and entertaining company has moved on..Ahhh, as The World Turns.

I'm gonna check yours out
,:goodluck:
