Sparkle, Women on the Edge was part of the Saints, Witches and Madwomen class. Did you take that? Might have been in some of the other classes, but that was where I first read it.

this book is on my desert island list. serious time. my copy is held together with a rubber band. Piercy's use of language is exceptional. always blows my skirt up when someone can use print to make me see in fully developed images, complete with sound, smells and emotion. i remember a line from it right now. "what is the use of not actively engaging in life? it passes anyway."

*I laugh a lot, often and often unabashedly. One of my childhood nicknames was "gigglebox".

*If you are a mean gossip, chronically unkind or perpetually negative - I will not like you and I will not invest in a relationship with you.

*I like the water, more than most any other thing: ocean, lake, river, pond, stream, pool, hot tub, shower ... any and all of the above.


Give me three things about yourself that you don't usually share

- I often struggle with highly developed attitudes and knowing if it's a good thing to let it slide or call it out. I'm not always vigilant in calling it out because at times, I can be very caustic in my approach in doing so.

- I probably am as good at procrastinating as those who tend to procrastinate.

- For me, I experience deep emotional reverberations when I listen to music: For example, sometimes when I listen to music, that is instrumental by design, it's not just a melody I hear but rather specific functions and timing issues that cause me to connect with a particular piece of music vs lyrical content within the scope of an arrangement of music.

Thanksgiving is, by far, my least favorite holiday, but for Christmas:
I love baking cookies!
I like going to the ice skating rink they set up downtown
On Christmas, I love that time where, after family obligations are through, there's a whole day where nothing has to be done but enjoy time with the person I like most. :)
