This morning, I woke up with a seriously aching hip so even though I didn't plan to, I went to the gym. Gotta keep the old bones, muscles and nerves working!
EFX576i elliptical, total body program. 265.1 cal, 2.17 mi, 3656 strides, 30:00 min I stretched on the mat and left. I had a lot to do this morning! |
got up at 3am... walked the dogs.... fed all my girls, the goobers, had two cups of coffee.... went back to bed.
got up around 11am, breakfast at Waffle House, home, took a nap. got up around 5pm, made light dinner for everyone, waiting for the new Walking Dead episode.... Then back to bed!!!! Bwahahahahahahaha!!!! :koolaid::jester::rubberducky: ya been a rough day. |
So yesterday I decided to do a 30day Squats Challenge that I found on Pinterest! Day 1: 60 squats. Today is Day 2: 80 squats. I'm really feeling motivated for the first time in a loooooooong time, so I figure if I post here every day, it will help keep me accountable and keep my motivation up. And I really need some support!!! :koolaid::koolaid::koolaid:
|
Today is Day 3: Rest day. So since I didn't have squats to do, I did 1/2 hour of Pilates.
|
Day 4: 80 Squats. I actually did more since I was outside and did yard work and walked in the rain!!
|
I felt miserable this morning but dragged myself to the gym anyway.
30 minutes on the Precor EFX576i elliptical using the total body program gave me these stats: 237.3 cal, 2.04 mi, 3215 strides Besides feeling puny, the music was absolutely dreadful for working out. Yoga or stretching, sure, but not the workouts that I prefer. I said something about it and the girl at the desk pulled up the program on one of the owner's phones and deleted it. They can't hear the music at the front desk and were as horrified as I was about the tunes. Luckily, all is well now. |
I'm finally all cleared to work out again. So now I just need to find a gym where I live. I might start searching tomorrow. For now, I've been walking a lot with my dog.
I'm looking forward to the weather turning. I'm hoping I can use the lake for some morning swims this summer. |
Wow, folks, I have been sick for almost a full total of 2 months! Thus I literally have not exercised since Jan. 25, and I did not record that day on here so here goes:
StairMaster level 2.4, 45 minutes, 370 cal, 116 flights Today I am back in the game! 2.5 hour walk in the park (Central Park and Riverside Park) I'm not fully well but am pretty darn close. It's a really busy time in my life right now, but I'm hoping I can get back in the game. In any case, it sure felt good today! |
Feel better soon, nyc!
I got into the gym this morning in preparation for the snow storm tonight and tomorrow. Warm up consisted of 5 minutes of rowing. 48 cal, 949 meters I followed that up with some light upper and lower body weight training. Cool down was walking on the Precor 954i treadmill. 19.5 cal, .19 mi Then I stretched and got out of there. |
Day 5: 100 Squats!! It was tough but I did them!! :seeingstars: I need to try to work on tomorrow's requirement (80) later tonight, because I have to take my spouse to doc appt. tomorrow morning out of town, then I work in the afternoon. So it might be a problem fitting them in. :|
|
Today I took a one hour walk in Central Park by myself. It was in the 30's and started to snow towards the end. Happy Spring!
|
Day 6: 80 Squats done!
|
I did a little bit of shoveling snow this morning but not much; it started melting right away!
|
Day7: rest day. So I did 1/2 hour of Pilates outside.
|
I worked out this morning on the Precor EFX576i elliptical for 35 minutes. It was a really good workout!
308.9 cal, 2.52 mi, 4255 strides This was followed by a couple of minutes on an ab machine and then some stretching. |
Day 8: 100 Squats!!!
|
My abs are a little tender from my last workout. I like that feeling when it's a reminder and there's soreness but you're not so blitzed by pain that you can't breathe normally.
|
5k rowing
Walked the 100 lb dog :seeingstars: |
Day 9: 120 Squats :hangloose:
|
5k rowing
Walk with very hyper spring fever fueled 100 lb dog....:seeingstars::knighthorse: |

When you are done with this challenge, will you move to the upper body or do you only work out your lower body? |
I danced a lot!
Yea, that's me alright ---> SUPERSTAR ;) ... in both Dollar General and the grocery store tonight ... *laughing* I could not help myself ... heard some good, really good songs from the 70s. Sweet Gladys with her Pips singing Don't Leave me This Way ... Smokey and his tag team The Miracles Honestly, there were about 8 great songs and I was right there with it! So much fun! :) |
Day 10: Another 120 Squats. Thanks for the support, Gemme!! I'm trying to get back into working out regular like I did before when I lost all my weight. When I saw the Squats challenge on Pinterest I just said Hey I'm going for it!!!!!! Yes I'm thinking about looking for an upper body challenge when I'm all done. I also am hoping to jog on my rebounder again, I LOVED that. I used to jog on that sucker for an hour or two at a time and I really miss it. I'm going to get back in shape if it's the last thing I do!! :hangloose::hangloose:
|
Day 11: Rest Day. And that's what I did today!! No working out for me, too much to do before work. But tomorrow is 140 squats so I need to rest today!!!:confused:
|
I've been putting more exercise in my life again. My dogs are a great motivator.
I've started doing a step workout with weights as well as walking at least 2 miles a day with the dogs. I also clean 3-6 hours a day for work... I say it counts. |
Day 12: 140 squats!!! Today was especially brutal!:| Maybe because I'm feeling kinda tired today? Or the dreary weather?? But I got it done anyway.....
|
Maybe because it was one HUNDRED and FORTY freakin' squats?!?!?
 The gym was open for a few hours this morning so I hit it up. Fifteen minutes on the EFX576i elliptical using the total body program. 133.6 cal, 1.08 mi, 1898 strides Then I did some total body weight training and followed that up with ten minutes on the Precor 954i treadmill to cool down. 38.7 cal, .40 mi I stretched and got some stretching help from one of the owners of the gym. Unsolicited but helpful, so I took it. Then I got the opportunity to pay it forward and gave some stretching advice to a young girl with a tight back. Heaven knows I know about back issues. |
Day 13: 150 squats!! I'm excited to finish out this month long challenge, then start an upper body one and also look into finding a gym. Gemme inspires me with her gym workouts! :hangloose: But it's got to be close to home, or I will be too lazy to drive and I will find all sorts of excuses not to go.

Since my bad knee went nuts totally a few months ago I did regular workouts. Now since it has gone stinky bad I am reduced to easy exercises because of being on crutches had f'd up my back to the point I need to be really careful I don't make it worse...so easy as it can each day mostly upper body work as it takes a lot to move all of me on two sticks these days.
|
Day 14: 160 squats. So it's been two whole weeks and I'm seeing no difference? In fact, I've gained weight:seeingstars: I'm sure my diet has a lot to do with it. I need to get it together.:seeingstars::seeingstars:

1. you are building muscle and that's heavier than the jiggly stuff, especially at first 2. your appetite will spike for a while until your body gets accustomed to the regular exercise and then it will dip That is, unless you are dipping into the pork rinds again. That will definitely knock you off track. |

That stuff is horrible for you says the person who ate 6 cookies with dinner tonight. :giggle: Keep trying. That's all you can do. Eventually your good decisions will outweigh the less than stellar ones. |
Day 15: Rest day. And I'm not going to do a darn thing but clean house and go to work.
|
That's okay, slacker. I got this today. lol
Warm up: 15 minutes on the Concept 2 rower 133 cal, 2613 meters Full body weight training Cool down: 10 minutes stretching on the mat |
Day 16: 160 Squats
|
I moved a lot of furniture and stuff around on Wednesday and GandG did squats so I decided not to do a darn thing today.
|
Day 17: 170 Squats
|
When does it stop? Will you be doing 2003 squats one day?
|
Hay GandG, how about turning those into burpees, then you can lower the count.
Otherwise I think you're about to go supernova! |
