I watched these the past few days.

It was okay. It felt 'B team' to me. I still cried at the end, because c'mon....but it wasn't done by the same folks that did the last one, for sure.

It took me a bit to get into it but once he touched down, things moved along nicely. Saw the parental 'twist' coming a mile away.

It has such a good message. I knew better, but I hoped for a different ending. This one was really good and who wouldn't want Jennifer Beals for their mom?

I picked up Wilson for tonight/tomorrow morning. I like quirky movies, so I'm hopeful for this one.

Word!

Everything but the last half hour was draggggggggggggging.

I saw CHIPS today and a small, poorly acted small time indie movie about horses and spoiled brats.

akiza 08-02-2017 03:37 AM

Van Helsing ^-^ i've cried the first time but now it's funny

*Anya* 08-02-2017 06:37 AM

Fate of the Furious

I don't know where to start.

I love action movies.

I did not love this one. I did not even finish watching it.

It was boring and overdone.

They should have stopped at 7.

I missed Paul Walker's presence, too.

This trailer is pretty accurate as to the movie's flaws.

I saw these movies the past couple of days.

Boss Baby

Alec Baldwin as a baby in charge? Too cute and pretty funny.

The Belko Experiment

This movie is freaking mental in the worst way and is not out of the scope of reality. People do awful things to other people.

Ghost in the Shell

Sure, there's minimum backstory and depth but the visuals are amazing. It's kind of a coming of age movie, in a sense.

Gayandgray 08-03-2017 07:15 PM

I'm watching a movie called "EMILEE" or something? It's about a psychotic babysitter....

CherryWine 08-03-2017 07:26 PM

Moonlight

Highly recommended.

Last night, I watched..... August Rush (2007).

It's a story about an undiscovered child music prodigy who was orphaned shortly after he was born.... and how his birth parents find him nearly 12 or 13 years later, as his conducts the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, playing his first magnum opus orchestral arrangement, during his debut appearance .....I thought it was a wonderful movie. :balloon:

This isn't the movie trailer, but it's a movie clip which shows his birth dad and August dueling on guitars (where he tells his birth dad that he'd only played the guitar for only six months...)

Are We There Yet? (2005)

I literally watched this movie this morning! The movie was filmed in my hometown metro area of Portland. It stars Nia,Long (as, Suzanne, she's a divorceé) and ex-rap artist Ice Cube (as, Nick, who's struck dumb by "love at first sight").

The interesting part about the movie is that movie critics gave this movie an 11 percent rating, but Google rated it 99 percent because viewers overwhelming thought the movie was straight hilarious and kinda true about certain things true about several things going on in the film (kids being proverbial monsters, our local international airport, and things that go on for folks in the dating scene --- for example, Suzanne's kids think no man is good enough to date their mom...and they terrorize Nick!).

I thought it was fairly hilarious!!! *LOL*

BUT ....you'll have to see for yourself if you think it's hilarious or not.

***** Enjoy, I hope you laugh as much as I did! *****

akiza 08-07-2017 08:42 AM

Doom ^^ i've found it funny

VintageFemme 08-07-2017 09:44 AM

I watched Shutter Island last night. I had seen it before many years ago but it was just as good again. The cinematography is so 'film noir' and the twist is great. It didn't hurt that we had really beautiful storms going on all the while I was watching it. Martin Scorsese never lets you down.

I hate to be on my soapbox about Rotten Tomato but IMHO it seems like they have nothing relating to older movies which really bugs me to no end!

Gayandgray 08-07-2017 03:20 PM

Right now I'm watching The Birdcage!!!!:wine:

C0LLETTE 08-07-2017 04:08 PM

I went to see "Atomic Blonde". I have no idea if it's politically correct, politically incorrect, savagely violent, sexually sensationalist, exploitative, incomprehensible, or a waste of film...I loved it and had great fun watching Charlize kill and maim the "bad guys". Pity about that young woman but she just would not listen.

Lyte 08-07-2017 04:27 PM

Had us a movie marathon this weekend...

Kong - fun... what you'd expect.
Circles - lots of potential... then kinda fizzles out. Meh!
Ghost Shell - lil slow... lil bit "done before" ... meh!
Life - Lil slow... meh!

John Wick 2 - heck yeah! ;)
Big Boss Baby - actually laughed in a couple of places, cute.

Sounds GQQD.

Adds it to the movie list......

Kätzchen 08-07-2017 04:47 PM

The Accountant.

What a killer movie. Talk about blood and guts savage movies, I thought this movie was superbly well done.

Ben Affleck stars as the youngest of two sons, he's smart as heck but he was born with autism/asberger's. His dad pushes him to limits so he knows his son will always be able to take care of himself. I won't say anything more, but this movie was one of the best I've seen in quite some time.

Vivacious1 08-07-2017 06:28 PM

The Circle... Average overall... had much more potential

homoe 08-11-2017 08:49 AM

The Lovers...........Debra Winger Tracy Letts

Snatched Stars: Amy Schumer Goldie Hawn

Not a big fan of Amy and as a disclaimer my housemate actually rented and paid for it! Just wasn't my cup of tea. The brightest spot for me was Wanda Sykes.

Alien vs Predator ^-^ always a pleasure
