Sunday

Circuit training interspersed with cardio for the first hour. I'm liking doing the two sets of weight training to one cardio and I'm liking going for max weight and reps the first set and focusing more on form with lighter weights the second set (quantity then quality). It's working out for me in that I have far less soreness than I used to, even when I only stretch for a few minutes afterwards and don't take anything before bed.

I thought I'd have to pass on T33, as someone got on her halfway through my circuit training, but they were gone when I was done so we were reunited.

And it felt so good.

Random program, levels 3-13. 2 interval runs for 1 minute @ 6.0 mph.

Stats: 477 calories, 3.51 miles, 65 minutes.

I work today, which is a bummer, but it's all OT so that doesn't completely suck. When I get off of work, I'm going to watch a movie and walk it back down to the Redbox. That will be another mile before the end of the day.

Still going to Pilates. Remarkably no pain any more the day after a workout.

It is a quite exhausting 60 minutes. I doubt I would ever do it every day. 2-3 times a week is enough for me.

I have also found out which muscles have adapted and taken over for others; depending on which area suffered injury or surgery.

I am working on building up enough to be able to keep up with level one class sessions, instead of private or semi-private ones.

The women that do it all the time are awesome: lithe and tight.

I know that I am doing something really good for my body.

Pilates makes me feel alive.

Went to gym, did the strength exercises that trainer gave me. Instead of recumbent elliptical, I did the treadmill at a 3 mile pace. Did the machines she had me do, really focused on abs and arms today. Feel relaxed but soooooo tired

Did you ever tell us what the recumbent elliptical is? I know someone asked about it but may have missed the response.

recumbent ellipitcal is the same principal as a recumbent exercise bike. the seat is more like a chair, you sit in it and pedal ellipitical pedals.

Interesting!

I clung to a loft ladder with my butt clenched in complete fear for about 20 minutes...it counts... :)

A bike ride in the Sumas Prairie with my young nephew who has been battling leukemia for almost a year. He's winning the battle. :)

This morning I went to the gym and did an hour on the stair master (45/50 intervals) and then a combined hour of weight lifting, core exercises, and stretching. Then in the evening I did an hour walk in the park.

At the gym there was a woman wearing a tied off resistance band that encircled her ankles while she walked backwards on the treadmill. Very cool, but the potential for an accident seems :vigil:

This thing looks like it would work well for folks with back problems and get away from the round cycling pattern. Uber cool! :cheesy:

Might be some kind of PT thingy. I have to do lots of things with a small resistance band around my knees to work my glutes. Sounds like you had a great workout day!

When I had a membership at the gym I used one a lot,a bunch easy'r than the other one a lot easy'r.

ProfPacker 06-22-2014 10:17 PM

Yes it is easier on the back and knees. You don't build up as much of a sweat with it though. I think I ned more intense cardio I might alternate but treadmill and elliptical

Took my dog for a long walk after horrible thunderstorm today. The power went off briefly. The storm cooled things down and it was a good time while getting a little exercise.

Off the subject but I can tell it is going to be a splendid week. Been doing laundry this evening. I had a match for every single sock!!! How about that? ;)

True dat.

One doesn't have to go backwards to trip up, though.

Poor guy. And in public. And on tape. And now youtube.

Today I feel like road kill, this morning I barely got out of bed,I have things to do so I have done my best to push through the pain and just get it done,I have burning pain in my kidney area, pain in my hip and my neck is stiff.I already took pain pills and have iced everything..and yes,I have already called the doc about the burning in my kidney area heck I didn't know I could pee so much and will be seeing her this afternoon..she said to drink plenty of water and I am.

nycfem 06-23-2014 06:12 PM

I did one hour on the Stair Master (45/50 intervals) and then a combined hour of weight lifting, back exercises, planks, and stretching. Will I ever have a day when I do not accidentally drop something off that high up Stair Master? :deepthoughts:

Sunday

'twas actually yesterday, but I played two softball games (cliché eh?) between the ass cheeks of the devil (Alabama). Pitched one game and had 3 strikeouts. I was one sweaty nasty butch. Water is my friend.

Gemme 06-23-2014 08:15 PM

35 minutes on T21 (T33 was occupied and T21 was the only other one available near a fan). 2 running intervals at 6.0 mph for 60 seconds.

Two places down from the lady that started a conversation with me in the locker room. Nice enough but a little odd. Her way of jogging made me smile.

Stats: 240 calories and 1.93 miles

Girl_On_Fire 06-23-2014 10:39 PM

I love to take a brisk walk when the weather allows. I hadn't been feeling well so I hadn't gone out to take one in quite a while. Today, I decided to the do the complete 45-minute routine...in the blazing sun. I came home a bit nauseous and had to just gulp water and sit for 20 minutes. But hey, I got it done!
