Yesterday I thought about tackling Dragonfly for the first time in months.
And then I think....why should I? In a hundred years it won't make a bit of difference.

I walked out onto my front porch this morning to see about a dozen daddy long leg spiders.....they were doing this nervous bouncing thing on the wall......and I wondered if they were mating! They were just touching the tips of their legs....it was so odd to watch, but it made me smile...

Nina 07-17-2010 04:41 PM

last weekend I made whoopies...they were good, although the filling was way. too. sweet....today I made the cake parts, and added chopped dried cherries and walnuts into the batter...I am not going to make them into sandwich cookies...just leave them as they are since they are pretty damn good...as time goes on I will perfect the add-ins and they will become a regular part of the cookie regiment...

all this when I should be doing some time sensitive things but I can't settle down!!...I did find that if I put the CD of pictures which don't work in my desk-top computer into the laptop, they Do work...now what will my excuse be?

Is this something you can share with the rest of us, Amazing Larry?

It's fun to look at now, but if nature hasn't been so cruel to those suckers and made their mouths too small to get a good hunk of us and their fangs too weak to penetrate our skin, you'd have been running back inside, missy. Them's seriously venomous spiders.:fastdraq:

I am lucky to have a friend/co-worker like the one I have.. This is Pride weekend in San Diego and my work is nuts.. We are both running around like crazy, in the middle of it, a customer refered to me as "she", my co-worker says, "um, you mean *he*?".. lol.. I didn't hear it happen, she told me later. She was also getting all upset about how many "she's" I was getting.. It's nice to work with someone that gets it.

Just to give you a picture of my co-worker, 24 year old straight girl that looks 12 and acts all shy but is pure spunk and fire beneath.. lol. Sad part today.. We got the word from corprate that the two cute 24 y/o straight girls with ghetto boottie can't wear the short shorts and fishnets they've been trying to pull off the last two weeks.. roflmao..

They were both very upset, as am I, although I have to admit to being somewhat relieved.. It's hard enough trying to balance sexual harrassment in the work place when you work in adult retail.. Double hard with two cute lil girls with ghetto bootie walking around. lol

Oh! Another one about my coworker.. At one point, I'm stuck at the register and she is helping a customer, all of a sudden I hear, "Does anyone here wear cockrings?? He needs help and I don't have a penis." lol.. Some lucky guy got to help him out.. He had also just bought a vibrating dildo, a non vibrating dildo, a tub of Elbow Grease, a bottle of water based lube and some poopers. He had a list. Lucky bastard..

Ah well.. You win some, you lose some..

HAPPY PRIDE!!!!

3 oranges = 16 Oz. of fresh squeezed goodness!

Nina 07-18-2010 08:27 AM

I am gonna go and water the tomato plants and try to ""trick"" them into changing blooms into tiny tomatoes!!...I Love all the ideas I get about how to 'trick and/or force' plants into doing what I want...I have a Strong suspicion they are going to do One thing, and One thing only---exactly what they want...
still, I guess there is some fun in playing the game...the plants are really Huge, the blooms are profuse and big...the tomatoes?---not so much !!
so...one waits, and hopes...just one more slice of life...

Wee houses have been an interest of mine for sometime. This guy has really refined the notion of downsizing in his 89 SF house. Check it out.

I just watched this yesterday, MB, and some other videos about small-living. It's really cool and I think I could do it for the trade-off of less of a carbon footprint and saving on utilities. He says on his website (I think that's where I saw it) that you don't have to own your own land; but, unless a friend or relative would let you put it on their property and hook up to their power supply, I don't know how you could do it. There would be zoning issue, too, with that set up. Something to consider, though.

With that particular "home" it looks like he's getting around some stuff by having it on wheels, therefore technically a travel trailer.

Of the small prefab houses I'm interested in the original wee houses or Rocio Romero's LV Series. Both seem comfortably livable, assuming we are willing to let go of our Western devotion to the clutter of stuff. As a minimalist, I think I could do it.

There isn't anything much more fun than to go to a kids' movie with a 7-year old who loves to laugh! Priceless!

In other news......I need some Minions! <giggling>

Sometimes I don't get bio family, and how they can be so cruel towards those that they are supposed to love ~ unreal

Venus007 07-19-2010 12:13 AM

Traitor for civility

Sometimes I think I would like to trade all our casual informality, dispensing of meaningless social customs, instant familiarity, and obsession with the nouveau for something older, more formed, and more formal; a return to civility, honor, integrity, manners and social custom. My heart cries out for a 21st century Eleanor of Aquitaine to influence our world with the same brilliant depth, breadth, and imagination. Why can we not see that in order for our cathedrals to soar, our buttresses to fly, we must have a structure to support the weight lest we become a pile of rubble with time and weather that shelters no one?

You learn something every day! For years I've been able to do this rolling board thing. Now I discover it has a name. Rola bola, although I like the sound of bongo boarding better. :skateboard: (the closest smiley I could get to this activity)

Today was one of those days where if the Day per se had a Neck, I'd strangle it..
If it had a Groin, I'd pummel it till the Day could barely walk w/o squeaking "mommy"
It would walk around with 2 black eyes, the fuckin' Envy of all raccoons alive..
And that's if I couldn't get away with shooting it
I'd happily volunteer "Today" as Quentin Tarantino's guinea pig bitch...

Seriously, sometimes u can just smell an incredibly fucked up horrendous Day comin' a mile away
:seeingstars:
~grabs 'death by chocolate' brownie, sulks, thinkin of sunny days , carefree beachparties...~

LMFAO hahahahahah I can relate, just not today

Nina 07-19-2010 08:28 PM

I find it odd that two of my new favorite programs are : Chasing Classic Cars and River Monsters...I do not care, at all, for cars nor for fishing...I just find the two characters of the shows to be totally endearing...Wayne Carini and Jeremy Wade...both of whom are absolutely In Love with their fields...and scary skilled in what they do...they both present their shows in such enthusiastic and unselfconscious ways...I find them endearing...

but...then again, I love billy the exterminator and his family as well...

funny how attractions change with age, eh?? ;)

Kätzchen 07-20-2010 05:21 AM

Sometimes, when I am so tired and I find myself wandering in thought, I reflect on the many changes I have been through over the course of the past few years and wonder (marvel) at the many things I have set out to do and have actually accomplished many of my personal goals.

I'd also like to just be able to drift off to sleep right now...
