Well it was cool here today in NJ and I don't like that at all. I rather it be hot then cool suppose to get warmer tomorrow.

We had pearly grey skies early this morning but since this afternoon, the clouds have disappeared and now there's nothing but beautiful sunshine!

Fall is officially here and we are still in the 90's. ACK! We did get a little rain yesterday accompanied by a few thunder-boomers and a brilliant ( albeit short lived) light show! It was quite welcome, as we have had little to no rain in the past month.
The trees are changing earlier than usual, with many already dropping their leaves. We will be making a weekend drive along the Blue Ridge parkway soon. If we can't encourage the teen age boy to go visit nature with us, then perhaps we'll pack a lunch and a blankey and picnic somewhere near Lover's Leap! It's hard to get into the "gather nuts for Winter" mindset, when it's still so hot out. Alas, it still has to be done, so I have been making my winterizing list and have begun checking junk off. Yesterday, nature presented Organic and me with a lovely show. Gales of wind and rain twirled and looped in a lovely dance. The sky opened up on us just as we were pulling into the parking lot and we got dusted pretty good on our way in and on the stairwell (which is open on one side). The gusts were pretty wild and, once we got our stuff inside, we both came back outside to watch it. It was absolutely beautiful and gave me one more reason to appreicate moving back to the South.
Today, skies are blue and full of cumulus clouds, though I suspect we'll get another shower before the day is over. I have no idea what the temperature is as I haven't left the apartment yet. |
It's a nice warm day here in NJ suppose to be about 81 degrees I like when the weather is warm and sunny no rain showers for me although at Temple last night it did rain and Thunder and the dog was scared until I medicated him then we slept like babies all three of us!!

It got up to 72* here today, tomorrow it rains and rains and rains. Then Wednesday we're supposed to have sun again. Good thing I got some of the leaves vac'd today.

We're supposed to be having our first big storm of the season. So far, it's rained and been a little breezy but I'm not seeing much storming.

It got up to 78 here today; perfect! But thunderstorms and flashflood warnings popping up at the bottom of the TV screen. We have had no rain to speak of in six weeks so I am not afraid. :)

we're finally out of the tornado watches/ warnings.. skies opened up with a cleansing downpour.. then gone... balmy air returned to normal... I can breathe again..

We had record heat last two days ., reached 94 degrees ughhhhhh. This morning i can hear the wind outside ,gusty. Were suppose to be getting a cool front this weekend. We have a burn ban , hasn't rained here for about a month .

This week is looking a lot like Winter is already here. Our Spring this year was pretty non-existent.. went straight to 80's and 90's almost overnight and I think Winter is going to do the same thing. GRRRRR!
Will be spending the next couple of weeks doing vigorous nut gathering, wood stacking, gap filling, etc. to be as ready for our second Winter here in the foothills. Last year we saw more snow than I had seen in prolly 20 or so years and they are forecasting this year to be as bad if not worse! GULP! Hoping everyone is ready! |

Snow in North Georgia yesterday without accumulation. 4 to 6 inches of snow in Western North Carolina on the Georgia border with accumulation. Sleet close by me yesterday. Bone chilling cold right now 34 degrees which is bone chilling in the sunny South. Warm up to mid 70's by Monday and Tuesday. Sick I got sick I pay very close attention to the weather and hide out accordingly. :)
