Watching "The Walking Dead" Season 2 epi. 8
Last week I watched "Would You Rather....." Since I play that game here, and I like, I thought I would check out the movie. Thank GOD I don't play the live version with the host of this movie :| Gruesome I have watched "Lip Service" "The Misfits" "Orange Is The New Black" Too bad that, as far as I know "Lip Service" and "The Misfits" are done :( Waiting on season 2 of O.I.T.N.B  |
A couple of days ago I watched
http://ia.media-imdb.com/images/M/MV...0,214,317_.jpg Side Effects Not my usual fare but it had several good twists. Enjoyed it, little slow for the first 30 mins, but good none the less. :movieguy: |
Have been watching "The Walking Dead" now started "Cracked" only has one season. So far I enjoyed the first episode.
|
Last night I watched the humorous documentary "Kumare" which I think was recommended somewhere on this site a while back. That was how it landed in my queue and I'm glad it did, really funny and telling.
Tonight I'm going to watch another comedy (which is odd for me) called "Salt of life" Italian movie that looks light and fun. :movieguy: |

Lip Service I hope has been cancelled forever, it was utter crap  |
While checking Netflix to see if they had any decent holiday movies (they don't) I ran across this film description with the keyword "christmas" in it.
"On Christmas Eve in Los Angeles, a mortician falls for a single-mom stripper, and an ex-priest forges an unlikely bond with a transgender prostitute." Happy Holidays :movieguy: |

watched all I could of Mad Men. Loved the 60's of it all!
|
I love of course OITNB as well as I've been spoiled with full length UFC specials as well as WWE specials on my favorite wrestlers plus I've watched two of my favorite animated movies which is Ice Age: Continental Drift and the third movie in the Madagascar series Europe's Most Wanted :)
|
Not really movies, but i am hooked on almost anything from ID, like Who the Bleep & Stalked. Wish there were more episodes on Netflix.
|
My recent N/F instant stream selections....
"Oxymoron"
A Boston independent film.......Authentic southside. "Plush" A musician whose brother,as well as her musical partner, dies. And she loses her desire for her art and her life. |
"LOVELACE"
Based on the true story of the legendary adult film star Linda Lovelace, a woman who was pressured into and abused by the porn industry, before she finally took control of her own life. Luther, MI-5, Inspector Morse, The Bletchley Circle, Wallander,...all British series...and , of course "House of Cards" ..the original Brit version, so much more deliciously evil than its pale American copy.

The things you watch when home alone and sick...
Lie to Me is quite watchable. Tim Roth is in the lead role. I've only seen two episodes but I like it.
Lakey Patterson Zero to 100 is a docu. about a young girl surfer Fat, sick and nearly dead Vegucated Forks over knives The three above were really interesting and look at the huge health benefits of a plant based diet. Glad to find some QI on netflix, sad to see it's only 3 seasons. |
Friday night I watched 127 hours with James Franco, based on a true story. I watched out of curiosity.
Saturday I watched "Pain & Gain" with Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson (The Rock), based on a true story. I really liked it. Also watched "Crank" which was pretty good. And now I am watching "Cellular" with Kim Bassinger. Lot of time for movie watching, since I have been feeling bad :( (also watched Burlesque -- have the DVD and watched "Village of the Dammed" on classic movie tv) |
I like Kim Bassinet.
|
I'm a bit of a documentary geek. My favourite on Netflix so far was The Bridge. Obviously not my favourite for it's content but for it's concept. (May be triggery for some) Amazing documentary, just not if you're looking for something happy.
Have to second Daktari on Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead- thought it was very interesting. I'm loving this thread, glad to be giving it a *bump* |
I probably have 20 movies, TV shows and doc's right now on my queue but I am so engrossed in House of Cards-not watching anything else.
The GF is playing 18 holes today and I am on a marathon. Outstanding! Just love it. |
Inspector Morse is one of those shows I've always meant to watch but for some reason didn't happen. A couple of weeks ago I watched a show called Endeavor, loved it, and found more of them. Now I find out it was a prequel series to the Morse series. Anyway, I've now loaded all 33 episodes into my queue and plan to watch one or two a week. :movieguy:
|
Endeavour is a modern take on a Morse prequel. I suggest watching the real deal first dood. Morse is classic telly. Destination tv in it's day. Me and my Ma used to love it.
Haven't seen any Endeavour as yet. |

i love documentaries too. i found Love Free or Die to be excellent. i normally might have skipped over it, but ended up loving the overall message. i could have used a tissue by the time it was over lol.
|
I have really enjoyed several of the shows that have already been mentioned. I have been watching The Unit, lately and love it. I don't think it's on netflix though. I've been streaming it on Amazon prime.
Some of my favorites: The Unit (amazon) Under the Dome (amazon) Lie to me The killing House The following |
The Passionate Friends (1949) i finally watched this and loved it. it reminded me a lot of Brief Encounters. Thought i had it made through the whole thing without needing any kleenex, til the very last scene lol. Figures. Now i want to read the book. |
The Fosters...
The Fosters is a compelling, one-hour drama about a multi-ethnic family mix of foster and biological kids being raised by two moms. Stef Foster, a dedicated police officer, and her partner Lena Adams, a school vice principal, have built a close-knit, loving family with Stef's biological son from a previous marriage, Brandon, and their adopted twins, Mariana and Jesus. Their lives are disrupted in unexpected ways when Lena meets Callie, a hardened teen with an abusive past who has spent her life in and out of foster homes. Lena and Stef welcome Callie and her brother, Jude, into their home thinking it's just for a few weeks, until a more permanent placement can be found. But life has something else in store for the Fosters.
The series stars Teri Polo as Stef, Sherri Saum as Lena, Jake T. Austin as Jesus, Hayden Byerly as Jude, David Lambert as Brandon, Maia Mitchell as Callie, Danny Nucci as Mike, and Cierra Ramirez as Mariana. |

Again....
|
On Netflix - Underbelly
Underbelly: A reality-based drama chronicles the 1990s gangland war in Melbourne, following through to the modern-day workings of organized crime down under.
|
If you enjoyed House of Cards and are trying to find a show to fill the "void" until next season, have a go at "Boss". Kelsey Grammer plays the Mayor of Chicago and all that that implies. If you are a Law and Order SVU fanatic, like me, you will recognize his wife.
Salut! |
On Netflix - The Black Donnellys
The Black Donnellys: Kevin, Jimmy, Tommy and Sean Donnelly are four young, working-class Irish brothers, inexorably tied to a New York City crime syndicate.
|
Zodiac
Zodiac: Based on real events, this chilling drama recounts the actions of a killer who stalked the streets of San Francisco and left clues in the newspaper.
(This isn't a scarey movie. The emphasis is on the investigation, not the killings. I watched this Friday night without getting the heebie jeebies!) |

In both versions of HoC the main actor talks to the camera. I think it's a psychological ploy to soften the brutality of the main character. I think it's effective but a bit campy and apologetic. In Boss, I think the hallucinations are a cushion for the brutality of the main character, but it's not done in a campy way and it's unapologetic. I know that's nit-picking but it makes the difference between the two for me. Anyway, I really like this series. Thanks again for posting this! |

I just watched the first episode of "Boss" and really liked it. Off to start the second episode now... I feel a binge week coming on. :movieguy: |
