I forgot we.saw Daddy's Home 2. It.was funny. It.was also our first time going to a movie together.
Tonight we are going to see Justice League. I couldn't be more excited about that if I tried. :) |

Good choice! We saw The Polar Express last night. Love! |
I really enjoyed this:popcorn: |
I saw The Man Who Invented Christmas , the movie about how Charles Dickens wrote his Edwardian novel A Christmas Carol, last Saturday. I enjoyed it but it's not as spectacular as one might think. So there's that....It was good, but I'd rather read the book.
While at the PT office today, I read in TIME magazine that Judi Dench stars in the movie version of am novel by the same name: Murder On The Orient Express. I plan to see this movie tomorrow, if the weather improves over night. I also will.try to.see the Tom Hanks movie, as well. |
I enjoyed the Tom Hanks movie. I was lucky I could catch it On Demand and avoid having to go out to see it:popcorn:

I saw this yesterday.
It. Was. Awesome!!! It was preceded by this short film, which was adorable. First, I'm a huge fan of animated features. Second, this was just a really well done film. Third, I got to watch it in a big ole theatre all by myself. The early afternoon movies on Tuesdays are always quiet, so I love going at that time. It made me feel like it was just for me. Fourth, I bawled through half of it. What? It's very touching! 2 thumbs up! |
Oh, same here, Gemme, I LOVE animated movies!
I saw a trailer for a new animated movie that's coming to theaters next spring, probably in March, which is an movie about Sherlock Holmes. It was outrageously funny, LOL, so I hope to see the movie next spring! |

Columbus Circle 2012
An heiress who's been shut inside her apartment building for nearly two decades is forced to confront her fears after one of her neighbors is killed and a detective arrives to begin the investigation. I liked it but I had it figured out way ahead of time.............. |
For some reason I just didn't care for this! |
Kong: Skull Island
I’ve always loved King Kong movies ever since I was a kid!!!! And Mighty Joe Young, too! |
Kepler[s Dream......
An 11 year-old girl searches for a missing rare book from her grandmother's (Holland Taylor) library and tries to understand why her family is fractured the way it is while her mother (Kelly Lynch), like astronaut Michael Collins, goes to the dark side of the moon for a leukemia treatment. Ella's father, (Sean Patrick Flanery) orbits his daughter, as Ella befriends Miguel and Rosie to find acceptance of her mother's fate. Emotional connections are reshaped, and the music of Patrick Neil Doyle helps tell this unusual story.
This synopsis does not do the movie justice! I really enjoyed it! |
We've watched several movies this weekend, both old and new.
I'm currently trying to watch Le Divorce but I'm struggling. It has actors that I usually enjoy but it's hard for me. I'm not a big fan. |
The Big Sick
Sweet, funny and sad all at once.
|
Star Wars The Last Jedi - won’t give spoilers, but we enjoyed the movie. The dialogue and visual treatments given to Carrie Fisher’s scenes was haunting and surrreal to me; I cried. -K

I just rewatched "Glory Road."
Such a good movie imho. |
The Dinner............
I'm sure the book must of been MUCH better! Just didn't care for it |
The Meyerowitz Stories (Netflix)
Good cast and I was surprised I enjoyed it as much as I did.......:movieguy: |
We saw this last night.
It's a strange, beautiful love story. I enjoyed it. DC is hung up on the oddity of it all. |
I wanted to post this in the documentary thread but I don't have the patience today to search for it so...
Toys That Made Us................. It's running free on Netflix right now and it deals with toys of yeterday and how they came to be. This season they feature Star Wars, Barbie, He-Man & G.I. Joe. It's very interesting check it out if you think it may be something that would interest you.........:movieguy: |
I took three boys to see The Last Jedi. They liked it. Lots of action. It's the never ending story.

Pitch Perfect 3
Totally silly and totally a guilty pleasure. :-) |
War Dog: A Soldier's Best Friend
I cleaned my entire apartment yesterday and I had already set the table for Christmas dinner.
I thought I would take a break and sit down and watch a documentary. War dog is the touching, sweet and sad story of dogs trained to go to war with Army Rangers and the bond that they develop with each other. I am not even chopping onions yet... |
The Lord of The Rings-The Return Of The King
I finally had the chance to sit down long enough to watch this movie..have to say it was well worth it. |
Star wars the last jedi
Liked this film, but for me it still has to be the originals.
Maybe a tad too long as well, but battle scenes are very good. Maybe at two and a half hours long it's too much for kids, think they would get bored in a cinema so wait until it comes out on dvd, at least then if they get bored or need a break you can stop it and resume later. |
An oldie but a classic............
Shadow Of A Doubt................. |
What Happened to Monday
A futuristic world where families are limited to one child to battle overpopulation. I was pleasantly surprised by the storyline, but thought Glenn Close's performance was lacking.

Dunkirk
Beautifully written, acted and filmed movie.

Watched Valerian last night... bleh!
Through the entire movie I was like... "What's wrong with this thing?!" I couldn't put my finger on it ... besides the lead character was as bland as room temp water. And I was wondering ... why does he sound like a Keanu Reeves?! I searched for a review ... yup, that was it! I say again... bleh!! The only savings bit was the special effects and the people of the planet Mül. I wouldn't mind living on their planet. Neat! :koolaid: |
I watched The Last Jedi, yesterday.

Though it was about 2.5 hours, it didn't feel too long. The fight scenes were cool and there was more humor than I remembered but there were several scenes that I was like, "doh!" towards different characters. I can't stand characters making stupid choices. I'm super judgmental about the lives of others, especially fictional characters. |

I went on an movie binge and watched several great ones from the 1980s and 1990s: Uncle Buck (John Candy) and Trading Places (Eddie Murphy & Dan Ackroyd & Jamie Lee Curtis)....and, a couple of Jack Nicholson movies (Something's Gotta Give & As Good As It Gets).
I could have gone to see Perfect Pitch 3, but just wasn't feeling it. The last really good movie I saw at the cinema was Murder On The Orient Express.....I really enjoyed the sweeping cinematography in this movie. I'm holding out until spring to see a couple of movies (Sherlock Gnomes, and Molly's Game, if it's still playing). |
This should more than likely go in the trailer thread but I'm posting it here because I just read it's going to be available On Demand Jan 30th! |
