My Love brought home chilled, gourmet salads from the health food store. We are sharing one salad because one salad is too much for either of us to eat.
The type of chilled salad is called, Chipolte Chile Tempeh and Brown Rice Bowl. It comes with it's own sauce, which is mildly zesty. We love this type of salad. There is about half a cup of cooked brown rice on the bottom; then on top of the rice is a collection of corn kernels, black beans, chopped green onions, carrots and tomatoes. The Tempeh is smokey flavored and compliments the entire salad. Water to drink, maybe a cup of herbal tea after dinner. No dessert tonight but maybe a small, freshly baked oatmeal cookie (with raisins) might be our late evening treat. |

I believe I am going to have what you did SB - the only changes will be a salad instead of asparagus- and likely soda or choco milk to drink. I was almost going to pass on doing the grill because it has been raining most of the day - and then I thought.. hell I have been on a grill in the midst of winter - what is a little rain? (laughing)
|
I had chicken, chips and salsa and fresh pineapple. Water to drink but not right after the pineapple, because the pineapple makes water taste disgusting.

I have several ideas/choices though none of them are blowing My socks off. However, I think the winner is going to be:
Buffalo style chicken wings w/ blue cheese & celery (the wings and drumettes are pretty big so I likely will not have anything with them) |
I sliced and fajita styled some veggies. Topped with cheese and this wonderful spicy chipotle sauce.
But the best part...A chocolate frosty!! |

Leftovers, the kids brought over Asian fusion for lunch and gave them to me- rice, batter fried prawns, some sort of noodle like, type dish with chicken, batter fried mini little something not prawns but seafood something I don't know what, was afraid to ask, different sauces. They brought over other things too but it all looked risky. My grandson liked some sort of sushi though. I'd heard children aren't supposed to eat it until they're at least four years old but they don't listen. They just go ahead and do it anyway. That kid will eat anything, I'm beginning to wonder if he's even got taste buds. Anyhow above and beyond that I didn't recognize anything else that was served. We just had things I already happened to have on hand to drink- diet raspberry Snapple, LaCroix, plain water, milk, coffee. No dessert but I'll probably have some no added sugar canned pears now though as a late night snack.
