Watching my Willy Bear curl up in a comfy, fluffy ball in his "friends" doggy bed, with stuffed toys strewn about....using one duck as a pillow (with it's beak sticking out of the bed)...and as he got even more comfy, he just curled around so his favorite "flat frog" is tucked in near his belly. thinking about Christmas' past and remembering so many of our family that have since passed and what a great time we use to have on Christmas Eve and Christmas day. Christmas with my Dad's family consisted of a single wide trailer with about 30 people in it LOL........HOW DID WE FIT? Guess we were all much smaller! then off to Nannie and Papaw's Christmas Day where the whole world seemed different. Everything was proper and we ate of china and use real silverware. Where as at Gigi and Papa's it was very informal and loud with people talking and us kids playing. I was always blessed to have good family on both sides and I realize everyone isn't that fortunate. Looking back it makes me smile to remember those times. Mom even made it a great Christmas the year Daddy was laid off. Sometimes it is the simplest things, the simpler times that you remember the most when you look back.

Watching My mom wrap gifts for My sister and dad, and the anticipation of having My favorite uncle and his girlfriend over for xmas dinner tonight ~ I dont get to see him often and I miss his like crazy so today is going to be a real treat :D

Dishes are prepared and in the frig for baking tomorrow. Car is semi~packed for journey to the daughter and her bf! We're all kinda jazzed about cooking together once I get there!

Getting a phone call this morning to be told that Santa left pressies under the tree! WOOO HOO.. I went and opened and I got the Texas Rangers baseball cap Ive been wanting.. AND I got a stocking full of Dallas Cowboys items... :)

I have so much to smile about today... It almost brings tears to my eyes, I havent been so happy in a long time...
Last night, I received a call very late from my adopted dad's sister. She lives several hours a way. She wants me to know that she and the rest of the family miss me and want me to still be a part of the family. And wished I would have been able to come up today for Christmas... I told her we can all plan on next year :) I also reconnected with her daughter with whom we were very close growing up.. She has moved around the Dallas/Fort Worth area with her husband and baby. So the best gift of all today is the gift of having family back.. Not my adopted parents but the rest of the family.. Brings happy tears to my eyes, and means sooo sooo much... |

Today was a great day! Stayed at my best pal's last night. Had coffee with her and her gf this morning then to my brother's for family Christmas. I got some awesome shark slippers!!! And I got the novel "The Count of Monte Crisco". I've wanted to read this book for at least 5 years. I was a bit surprised that it's over 1400 pages long!!! LOL But I loved loved loved the movie and a good friend said it was his favorite novel, so I'm looking forward to it! It's also hard cover and will make a nice addition to my library :) Well, I don't really have a library, but a book case lol I also got a nice set of Titan's (the NFL team) ear muffs and a new sidelines Titan's cap. My neice is in from France and she gave me a bag of european chocolates :) It was a white Christmas too :) Just a wonderful time with family and friends!!!

Riding bikes in the snow with Miss Pink. Hearing her go "WHEEEE!!!!" when she went down a hill as I took pictures. Me busting my ass trying to climb a hill as the bike slides out from under me. Getting up and trying to traverse the same hill sideways and us laughing some more as the bike flies out from under me. PUSHING the bike up the hill and flying down it and coming to a sliding stop as Miss Pink takes pictures. Nothing like a mix of snow, bikes and love to bring a smile to my face!!
