I did 30 minutes on the stairmaster today, levels 1-4. I watched a really good Netflix series while exercising called "Eccentrics." It profiles eccentrics and was quite enjoyable to watch, also thought provoking.

SmoothButch 02-25-2017 05:43 PM

Today was a bust. Ran 1.5 miles out of my planned seven miles. Some days your body doesn't cooperate.

Chad 03-01-2017 08:28 PM

Exercise

Today I walked for 30 minutes. Went to PT and did 90 leg lifts with a 3lb weight on my ankle. 45 squats, 10 minutes of leg presses, and 2.5 miles on the stationery bike.

I can report that my quad is stronger. Today I ran up 30 steps with ease while my friend struggled. Soon I will be riding my bicycle. Yay!

Haha! I want to ride my bicycle buddy. I am willing to work for that joy in my life. :)

Kätzchen 03-01-2017 08:56 PM

Prior to my work related accident last November, I was bicycling back and forth to work (8.3 miles in less than an hour, twice a day), bicycling pretty much everywhere on my days off. I'm guessing my weekly average of miles was near 90 miles, or better. I was in pretty good shape.

Today, I was able to go down three flights of stairs, by myself, and walked slowly to the mail box to get my mail. I also did a small load of laundry and light housekeeping. I'm pretty tired, but felt I crossed a threshold today.

When my heart study concludes the end of March, and if they rule out all the questions they had earlier in January, then I will get to go to pool therapy.

Not sure how long it will take to get back to pre-November condition.... but I do what I can. My doctors and nursing team is proud of me for not giving up.

SmoothButch 03-07-2017 09:21 PM

3 miles on the trail.

Chad 03-08-2017 08:23 PM

Exercise

Today I did 90 leg lifts with a 3.5 lb weight on my ankle, 55 squats, 2.5 miles on the stationery bicycle, and 50 leg presses but I am not sure about the weight so I will ask on Friday.

easygoingfemme 03-09-2017 06:37 AM

Yesterday was 4 miles rowing and a lot of running up and down stairs at work.

Hoping for more of the same today, though I am in a training for half the day and that will require lots of boring sitting...

Gemme 03-09-2017 09:02 PM

I'll get plenty of exercise tomorrow. We're expecting up to 8 inches of snow tonight and tomorrow.

Chad 03-10-2017 07:39 PM

Exercise

I did 90 leg lifts with a 4lb weight strapped to my ankle, 45 one leg squats, 2.5 miles on the stationery bicycle, 65 leg presses with 120 lbs. Progress.....yay!

30 minutes stairmaster, Level 1-4. Watched the t.v. series Eccentrics on Netflix. It is a great series!!! Doc style T.v. show celebrating eccentrics from around the world!

nycfem 03-13-2017 09:12 PM

I did the same thing today. Only difference was the show was getting a tiny bit boring... It kind of switched a bit from eccentrics to do-gooders.

I did 45 minutes on the stairmaster today, levels 1-4, 100 floors. I watched the documentary "Revenge Porn" on Netflix. It was not good.

Oh... and then I did 15 minutes of weight lifting and stretching.

Gemme 03-20-2017 05:30 AM

Catch up!

Feb. 27--elliptical, level 3, random program
267 cal, 2.21 mi, 30:00 min
stretch

Mar 16--elliptical (not my favorite but I was late and the gym was crowded so I had to take what was available....this one's arms didn't move)
226.1 cal, 2.04 mi, 30:00 min
Concept II rower-74 cal, 23spg, 8:03 min
stretch on a Precor Stretch Trainer

The elliptical was off. Most are but this one was by a higher percentage. I did not burn 226 calories without using arms on it.

Mar 19--elliptical, random program, level 3
270 cal, 2.34 mi, 30:00 min
60 crunches on ab machine, different angles
10 minutes of stretching

This elliptical was more on par. I definitely worked yesterday morning.

Gemme 03-25-2017 02:09 PM

I hit the 24/7 gym this morning.

LifeFitness elliptical, level 3, manual program
213 cal, 2.45 mi, 30:00 min

I like the stats that these machines keep. My average pace was 12.14.

No stretching. I was on a tight schedule and had to run.

HA!

nycfem 03-25-2017 02:20 PM

I took a half hour walk in the cold, dreary drizzle. It was NOT ideal! Also, I did not know whether it was going to turn into a downpour, so I circled the blocks where our apartment is, so that was boring! The good part was I voicetexted with a friend I'd been meaning to catch up with, so that was great.

easygoingfemme 03-25-2017 07:29 PM

I exercised my patience a fair amount of times.
I rowed 4.5 miles.

SmoothButch 03-26-2017 05:11 PM

I ran my first 10 Miler race - slow but non stop!

Nice job!

My body was telling me today that it needed a break so I gave it one. I will work out tomorrow evening. :)

Breaks are much needed, I just came off a longer the planned break but pulled it off.

nycfem 04-02-2017 03:27 PM

Yesterday I did the stairmaster levels 1-4 for an hour. I watched a good Netflix called "Growing Up Coy"- a documentary about a 6-year-old trans boy and his landmark case about using the school bathroom.

Today I walked for an hour and a half in the park. It was 60 and sunny. Lovely day.

easygoingfemme 04-02-2017 03:37 PM

Last two days had good rows but worked out too late last night and it kept my brain too awake. Going to try to work out here soon so I get it done earlier.

Also today was walking my 100 lb dog in full on spring fever. It got comical. I have very limited control over him when he wants something- due to size and muscle.

easygoingfemme 04-03-2017 06:11 PM

I had to go from basement to third floor about a bazillion times today at work and took the stairs every time- except for the one when I was handling a loaded hand truck. I play a game where I race the people in the elevator.

nycfem 04-03-2017 07:24 PM

Today I walked outside for 30 min. for my lunch period. I had to pee within five minutes of having left the school so that was uncomfortable, lol.

After work I did the stairmaster 30 min, levels 1-5. I started watching a new doc on Amazon Prime video by a daughter whose dad went conservative. It analyzes how the media brainwashes people, something like that. It's not as good as I want it to be.

Oh, and someone left a wad of gum in the drink holder on the stairmaster. Eek!

What's the name of that doc you watched?

Thanks- I'll check that out!

Yesterday my exercise was stair running and I flipped 22 bed mattresses. Today will be more stair running and another 22 mattresses. I feel like I should get a crossfit badge or something for this one.

SmoothButch 04-06-2017 04:53 PM

Two miles on my treadmill.

easygoingfemme 04-06-2017 05:23 PM

Along with my stair running and mattress flipping I also carried a microwave down four flights of stairs...:seeingstars: Grateful it was down and not up.

What's the score been, inquiring minds want to know! (and have you broken anything in the process of this game)

I get there first probably 9 out of 10 times, and tie on the others. I have yet to be beat. I have not broken anything, thank you very much. Please keep in mind I'm in an old building with a not very fast elevator.

Gemme 04-09-2017 09:46 AM

Helllooooooooooo, exercisers!

I have had a most delicious day thus far and it started out with a wicked good workout.

I set up on an elliptical, thinking I'd occasionally peek at the Law & Order episode I saw but when I actually mounted the machine, I saw that immediately in front of me was one of the Ice Age movies. The one with Jennifer Lopez....maybe the 3rd one? Anywho, score! It totally kept my attention and I went way farther than I initially intended so it was a win-win for me.

Life Fitness elliptical, random program, level 3
Stats: 482 cal, 3.72 mi, 55:00 min

I know that the elliptical was off in measurements of caloric burn but I honestly don't think it's by very much. It was a good workout!

I finished up with 10-12 minutes on the mat, stretching.

Medusa 04-11-2017 04:36 PM

I just hit 10k steps and hope to get 5k more before the night is over!

easygoingfemme 04-11-2017 06:33 PM

I keep wanting to remember to measure my steps on an average day...

I was up and down the stairs at work a little but not as much as last week.

I had a midday cancelled appointment and seized the moment to go take a walk and I think I did about 1.5 miles. In the sun. Along a river and through the really pretty village I work in.

Then after work I rowed 4 miles.

Happy camper.

nycfem 04-11-2017 07:24 PM

I went on a one hour evening walk in nice weather in the park. I found myself taking pictures of squirrels along the way.

nycfem 04-12-2017 09:48 PM

1.5 hr walk in the park, spring has sprung!

girl_dee 04-13-2017 03:50 AM

i have been power walking daily at lunch and loving the hell out of it! i work in a very interesting town and getting to see it by foot is fun!
