Transendance it is a good sci-fi futuristic move and I am not a fan of the main star and for a change the movie didn't depend on effects alone but istead the plot. I enjoyed it enough to biy the DVD.

went to see the new teenage mutant ninja turtle movie ...im not impressed

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes - we loved it! Initially, my daughter did not want to go but she confessed early on that it was a great movie! It is funny that the movie makes you empathize with the apes so you are rooting for them to beat the evil humans. lol In my opinion, there are many good moral messages in the movie as well, such as the negative consequences of guns in a society and learning to coexist with those who are different than you.

dawn of the planet of the apes (saw it befo' i left fo' holiday to da states and loved it! am gon see it again wit' me sistah and her 2 kids next week, in 3-d)
guardians of the galaxy, in 3-d (saw it wit' me niece and nephew last week and LOVED it. the 80's sound track was awesome.) the hundred-foot journey (saw it yestaday wit' me oldest sistah and really liked it a lot) |
Double Feature!
It was funnier than I expected, which was nice, and I absolutely adore Zoe Saldana. She kicks butt in space just as well as she did in Columbiana. And she looks really pretty with green skin. Who knew? I have a soft spot for dance movies, especially when they have some of my favorite SYTYCD contestants. A happy surprise for me was finding my Jaja in it. I didn't see her in the trailers so I was pleased to see her. |

"Queen To Play"
a 2011 French film with Sandrine Bonnaire (lovely) Kevin Kline speaking French no less fun for chess players Greco |
I'm watching The Other Woman right now.

The Desolation of Smaug. Almost three hours of my life I can't get back. Lush to look at but, oh my, so tedious.
Mrs.Doubtfire. [revisiting for obvious reasons] A fabulous performance by Mr.Williams. Freaky Friday (2003) Just because I like to watch Jamie Lee :awww: I've been deep in film [read procrastination] mode and I can't remember all that I've seen. I've revisited several long time faves. I found a Marlon Brando film length documentary either on Netflix or Youtube that was interesting although didn't cover anything that hasn't already been covered in other media. Venus and Serena. Interesting enough doc. if you like tennis. Pretty much a year [2011] in the lives of the eponymous sisters. |

Good times! I saw Rio 2 today. Cute! |
Just watched "Spark: A Burning Man Story"
Good documentary about the inclusive festival. :movieguy: |
I record that new show called "Strain".
I finally had time to sit down and watch. Freaky! I do not like snake like freaky shit flying out of infected peoples faces trying to attach to mine. Other than that it's great :/ |
It was good and full of action. |
I fell asleep watching Frozen Ground on Netflix. Nicolas Cage and omg I can't remember his name are in it...
It was really good...what I saw...Ohhhh John Cusack. :) Love him...love his sister more... |
Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes. Obviously, it lacked the incomparable Charlton Heston, Roddy McDowell, and Kim Hunter and also the shock ending of that 1968 original. Maybe it's just me, but the more CGI you throw into a movie, the less "soul" it has. Explosions and action don't make up for soul, or memorable characters.
I kept waiting for one of the humans to have a damn sense of humor and yell "Take your stinking paws off me, you damn dirty ape!" |

OMG watching Excalibur. John Boorman's 1981 version .Sooo good and so bad lol.
I need a suit of armor. |
Just finished watching Divergent. Well written I thought, kept my interest the entire movie. And Jennifer Lawrence is becoming one of my favourite actresses. Night night.

To be Takei
I watched this documentary yesterday. Granted, my knowledge of Takei was strictly as Mr. Sulu prior to seeing this film. This is one cool guy who grabs life by the balls, has a positive outlook, despite being in a concentration camp as a child and he lived most of his life closeted in order to have a career in Hollywood.
Time worthy. |
I'm completely slacking on good films, apparently....
