I went to Dick's to see about a kayak for spring. They no longer do layaway...which would've been perfect since i dont need it now....and I'm not even sure where to put it yet.

Any who...

The customer service there sucks now....I had to go to the register to get help with a question I had about a certain backpacking stove fuel. He didn't know. He recommended a better outfitter that would know. Yep. I will be going there.

However,

I did buy a Sawyer purifying system. It was cheap enough and it'll get a lot of use.

I have officially begun buying my backpacking gear...I may squee a bit....lol

I also got groceries but my yogurt remains elusive. Whole foods has the brand but not the flavor I want... sigh

Last week: a pair of sheer black silky stockings, found an pair of kitten heels that were hardly worn, made of leather, and look really nice.

Today: I hope to find an unusual black dress shirt, something that will look nice on me and compliment it with a strand of pearls, that will be loaned to me for an upcoming interview.

A backpack for hiking! Its big enough to do a long weekend hike. I'm looking it over and getting happier and happier with it! It even has a handy dandy spot for my camelbak.

All for the bargain price of $30! What I thought was gonna be my most expensive gear purchase will prolly be my cheapest lol

I say its worth it then. You never know if people will be circumspect enough to think to close it each and every time. I fear for my toothbrush when I live with others.......

Hey Kelt for that price, it should reach up and wipe a person as well, just saying:seeingstars:

Several things for my new apartment. My mom and I went shopping for dishes. I have her China and I don't want it to get damaged. I found a cute white with mauve floral print dishes for $15 at a thrift store. I then went to Bealls Outjet and found a cute baby blue Paris jewelry box.

I bought a roll of masking tape, two 3" chip brushes, a new blade for my jigsaw, a gallon of exterior trim paint the color of weak coffee with a lot of 2% milk in it, one gigantic orange, one large pack of dried figs, a half pint of blueberries, a half pint of raspberries, 1 quart of vanilla yogurt, 2 poppyseed lemon muffins, a chunk of smoked gouda, a small roll of goat cheese with lemon zest, some weird, seedy English crackers I've never heard of but they had samples, 1 small bottle of tea tree oil, one bottle of Mumm's red stripe champagne, and a big, heart shaped burgundy velvet box of Godiva truffles.
(and some weed<--just kidding).

I took my roommate to one of my fave thrift stores. I got books and a pink sorta useful but mostly pretty boho scarf....

2 of my books are cookbooks...one is low carb...the other is from Asheville restaurants. Sad thing is, its from 1998 and I only know of one in the book that's still open....sad really...

What else? Books....

I got a novel about a woman who pretends to be a man so she can serve in the Civil War. Its called Neverhome. I know that actually happened. But I don't think this is a narrative about that particular woman .

I also got a psychology book about personality called Me, Myself and Why: Searching for the science of self.

I bought myself lunch...and a coffee and cookies after...and gas for the car...
