I had a hella good workout this morning. I got back into weight training. I'm easing into it....I hope. We'll see if I'm sore tomorrow.
I warmed up on the elliptical. Level 4, random program. Stats: 158 cal, 1.16 mi, 18 min Then I did the circuit training using very light to moderate weight and doing 3 sets with 12 reps. That was maybe 40 minutes. And then I hit the mat for a good 10 min or so to stretch. I have to say, people do not seem to realize that not everyone comes to the gym for social hour or to display their grunting ability. The lunk alarm went off while I was there so it just wasn't the people in my area. |
I'm trying to get myself psyched to start an exercise program of some sort..... I got awesome work outs while working at the dog kennel every day and I lost weight, but now that I quit I'm on my own. I don't want to gain back any of the weight so im practicing portion control while I figure out what kind of exercise I really want to do.
|
Four miles on the treadmill.
|
I took another 1.5 hour walk in the park. I am on Spring break through next Tuesday.
|
Well before work I did end up doing a half hour of Pilates type calisthenics on my yoga mat. Better than nothing! And tomorrow I'm off so its yard work for me!
|
Yesterday I did a LOT of running around at work- I need to get some sort of pedometer... then a four mile row after work.
|
Ending up not doing yard work but I did pull my rebounder out of the shed.......:hangloose:
|
I found my car in the Costco parking lot.
|
Yesterday 1.5 hour walk in the park, and the same today. I get on these "kicks" where I repeat the same thing over and over. As long as it brings me great joy, I am good with that :)
|
I had a good workout this Easter morning.
Elliptical, level 4, random program Stats: 270 cal, 2.21 mi, 30:00 min This was followed by 10 minutes on the mat, stretching. |
I took a 30 minute walk, then it started to rain. It was okay because I did not have much time before I had to be at an event anyway.
|
Yesterday was lots of running around and up and down and then a 4 mile row.
Should be getting my bike in for a much needed tune up by the end of this week. Then can start plotting in days to bike to work or head out after work and soaking up the sun! |
I did a half hour of Pilates.
|
It was my last day of spring break so I took advantage of the extra time. In the morning I went to the gym and did the stair master for 30 minutes (levels 2-5), then weightlifting, stretching, and ab exercises x 30 minutes. Then in the evening I walked in the park for an hour.
|
I sat waaaaay too much today at work. Many meetings and conferences. I made it up and down the floors a few times but not like usual. I almost didn't work out when I got home but then after a little decompression time I got up for a row and had a good sweaty workout.
|
I don't always post about it, but I've been doing yoga more frequently and a kettle bell workout also.
WELL..... Today I was doing yoga, and the instructor had us go into a side plank....kind of in a sneaky way...without calling it that. I've never been able to do a side plank because my arms were never strong enough. Today...I not only did it but we switched from side to side in that position for several minutes. <<<<super proud girl! I can't say if the yoga practice is giving me extra strength or the combination of kettle bells and yoga. Mayhaps it's because my client needs more help with transfers and my body has becomes stronger out of necessity. Either way, I'm so stoked to see improvement in my over all well being. :) |
Oh and now leaving for a nice walk at the Biltmore estate :)

Good for you! Years ago I was at a gym where there was a "plank off" contest, who could hold the longest. It largely ended up with a lot of big buff male personal trainers competing against the yoga women. The yogies far outlasted all of the personal trainers. It was so fun to watch that all go down. |
I ordered Piyo dvds and they came in yesterday. I can't wait to try them!

Great workout this morning!
I went to the newest gym and it was busier than I've ever seen it. Still not too crowded but I've only seen between 1-5 people there at the same time as me before. Today, there was 8 of us. I hopped on the regular elliptical (because they have one that has loosey goosey foot pedals that go sideways as well as back and forth) and did a solid half hour while watching Fixer Upper and trying to read their lips (I keep forgetting to bring my earbuds). Level 1, but a decent average pace of 12.46 mph. I won't be winning any races but it was solid. Stats: 249 cal, 2.74 mi, 35:00 min Then, I went bra and panty shopping. Trust me; it's the best time. Your endorphins and body image are at a high. |
Yesterday I did 1 hour on the Stairmaster, and today 30 minutes.
|
Today's workout was HARD. First, it's the early stages of my cycle and that always makes it feel like I'm wading through mud during my workouts. Second, I went to gym #2, that has been undergoing a renovation. I don't like it. Sure, it's all new equipment but that was the point of that gym. They had equipment that most gyms don't carry now and now they are just like most other gyms. I now have to decide if their classes are worth $25 a month.
My favorite elliptical of all time is GONE now. Poof! I'm taking that one personally. So, here's the sad little fill in they have now. It's a Matrix, if that makes a difference. Stats: 160 cal, 1.74 mi, 30:00 min |
30 min on the stairmaster
lots of endorphins special minutes of the day for sure :) |
I went to PF today. They got all new cardio equipment so I am helping to break in some of their ellipticals. The new ones are tiiiiiight. You can tell the difference right away.
Warm up: 124 cal, 1.28 mi, 13:00 min Weight training for approx. 45 minutes Cool down: stretching on the new, less squishy and soft mats New equip: +1 New mats: -1 |
I did 30 minutes on the stairmaster. I am watching a great Netflix doc called "Tower." It is animated and is about the shooting that took place at the University of Texas Tower in 1996 before school shootings had become a thing. It is fascinating and made the time fly by.

Well if I get my lazy butt out there and cut grass and weed wack, that will be a good workout! And since my new self propel mower is acting up and needs to go to the shop to be looked at, I will be using the old push mower which will make me sweat!

I did it!!! Took me close to 3 freaking hours because I had to pull out my chainsaw and work on a big tree branch that was half way falling down. :jester::jester::jester:
