Dave Chappelle's Netflix Special 'Sticks & Stones'......

I've always been a huge fan of Dave Chappelle so I enjoyed this!

His bit on "French actor" Jussie Smollett IMHO....... priceless!!!

"Kathy Griffin: A Hell of a Story" A Hell of a Story is a concert film by comedian Kathy Griffin, and her twenty-first special overall. Griffin self-financed the film, which was recorded on October 29, 2018 at the Santa Monica College Performing Arts Center.

Enjoyed this very much.......

MOMO - Sam Giancana Documentary Amazon Prime

The film details the life of a tough, impoverished kid who rose through the ranks of Chicago's underworld to become a top member-many say the real godfather-of the most ruthless gangland organization in the country: The Outfit, run by Al Capone. Giancana was purported to have helped get JFK elected president, as well as being hired by the CIA. It also showcases the Giancana daughters who best knew their father as a loving family man.

This was very good.......:movieguy:

PASSENGERS

Starring Chris Pratt & Jennifer Lawrence.
Seen the trailer for this and thought it looked like a average/not so good film so dismissed it totally. But having got a 4K bluray player and it being cheap to buy thought what the hell and got it.
This movie was actually a big surprise and a good one at that. Wont give anything away. Its sci-fi based but not hard sci-fi and gets you thinking would you do the same given the situation.
Check it out but don't go much by the trailer.

I'm on a movie marathon of sorts and will be for a couple days..:movieguy:

Today I started out watching Irishman on Netflix staring Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci, and Al Pacino.

Later I watched After The Wedding and then re-watched Gloria Bell both staring Julianne Moore..

homoe 11-28-2019 10:59 AM

:movieguy:

Last night my movie marathon continued with watching Can You Ever Forgive Me staring Melissa McCarthy as Lee Israel who's forged & very creative letters got her into hot water. Then it was on too Wizard of Lies with Robert De Niro as Bernie Madoff, whose Ponzi scheme robbed $65 billion from unsuspecting victims; the largest fraud in U.S. history...

Yesterday's movie marathon consisted of The Break Up, staring Vince and Jennifer Aniston a couple's break-up proceeds to get uglier and nastier by the moment. White Palace staring Susan Sarandon and James Spader still getting over the death of his wife, a young advertising executive meets an older waitress, a woman that might set him free. When Harry Met Sally staring Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan who are very good friends, but they fear sex would ruin the friendship. And SO enjoyed the famous "I'll Have What She's Having" scene once again..

DONT WATCH- - the miseducation of cameron post

This film is one of the worst book to film adaptions i have ever had the misfortune to watch.
Unlike the book where you connect profoundly with cameron.
The film doesn't manage to achieve whats so ever.
It misses huge chunks out that were in the book.
This had so much potential to be a great film. But instead its one to steer clear of.
Read the book and i guarantee that you will be moved so much.
What a real shame.

star wars rise of skywalker

What a great film to end the star wars series for a while.
I really enjoyed this film.
There was everything you needed in it from a star wars film.
Will be buying it on blu-ray for sure.

Where's My Roy Cohn?

Roy Cohn personified the dark arts of American politics, turning empty vessels into dangerous demagogues - from Joseph McCarthy to his final project, Donald J. Trump.

One of the most controversial and influential American men of the 20th Century, Roy Cohn was a ruthless and unscrupulous lawyer and political power broker whose 28-year career ranged from acting as chief counsel to Senator Joseph McCarthy's Communist-hunting subcommittee to molding the career of a young Queens real estate developer named Donald Trump.

Enjoyed it.......

Frankie & Johnny is one of my top 10 all time favorite movies.

GeorgiaMa'am 01-01-2020 06:30 PM

Marriage Story - As others here have said, very sad. It took me three sittings to get through it. However, it was very well made. Adam Driver is a talented actor.

jools66 01-11-2020 01:14 AM

LITTE WOMEN

This is a outstanding film which i cant praise enough. The story is so beautiful and the way its acted is acting at its best. I will be watching this again for sure. I am going to read the original novel too.
This film is a must see. It warms your heart because it's so moving on so many levels.
Please go and support this film by going to see it at your local cinema.
You wont regret it for one minute.

BONBSHELL

Really found this movie a very good watch. There are parts that make you just plain sick at some of the conduct that goes on, it also makes you angry has hell too at moments.
Given what's going on in the world at the moment its very relevant regarding a lot of high powered men.
Being not from the usa i didn't know these women but that didn't really make it any less of a very good movie for me.
Great acting by all the cast too.
I liked it a lot.

jools66 02-01-2020 12:00 PM

The Rhythm Section

Hi guys
So went to see this film yesterday.
I personally was rather disappointed with this film.
It had a lot of potential to be a great film, but left me feeling like it fell far short of what i expected.
It was pretty average.
If you do want to try and watch it then wait until its free to watch.

homoe 02-02-2020 11:00 AM

In between power outages we did get to watch Motherless Brooklyn..

Enjoyed it.....

jools66 02-15-2020 03:37 PM

PARASITE

I really did enjoy this film.
It had very good dark humour in it to counter the serious content. Maybe they could have cut the time by 15 minutes or so.
But i wouldn't mind seeing it again when it comes out on dvd or streaming.
Overall a very good movie.

Portrait of a Lady on Fire

This is an amazing film. I totally adore it from start to finish.
Its a slow build of a film, but it's just charming.
The way its shot is beautiful, as is the scenery.
If you like period drama films then this is a real treat for the viewing.
Just brilliant
Check out the trailer on youtube

dark waters

I liked this film, though it was really slow at the beginning.
This i think was due to the fact that they wanted to get the entire story out.
The acting is very good.
The way it makes you feel is mixed.
And god knows it makes you angry as hell.
You just cant believe this actually went on and people are still fighting for their claim even now.

Drive: The Billy Monger Story

SORRY ITS CALLED DRIVEN
This is absolutely a must watch.
Unfortunatley it was only on bbc UK as far as i know, but bits of interview are on youtube.
This young chap is relentlessly focused.
Even after his horrific accident he has such determination to live life to the full.
A true inspiration for teens and adults.
Remarkable human being

The Gentlemen

FireSignFemme 03-08-2020 04:22 AM

I can't remember the name but it was yesterday and it was gross and horrible. A man was outside smoking andi is abducted by a man who dresses up in different costumes and comes down to the basement periodically where he has him tied up, to torture him. His first role play he dressed up as a clown. Even though it's just a film I had to close my eyes and fast forward through most of it because even though it did look a little fake in certain parts still I felt compelled to watch. I just had to know was he punished and if so how was he punished, or how did his victim escape. Turned out in the end the psycho proved to be the guy's wife who realized he was the serial killer all over the news and got him to do her husband in because she discovered her best friend was having an affair with her husband. Wow, jealousy can get bad but like that – oh shit! A good lesson in how things can go too far if someone doesn't work really hard on keeping their revenge fantasies in check.

Bombshell...........

~~
I was so looking forward to seeing this movie however I found it couldn't hold a candle to Showtime's Loudest Voice which was based on the best-selling book "The Loudest Voice" by Gabriel Sherman.

The cast of Bombshell was outstanding and I see why some were up for an Oscar, but as for the story telling of Roger Ailes background and dastardly deeds while at the helm of Fox stick with Loudest Voice!

Bypass the Assistant!

A searing look at a day in the life of an assistant to a powerful executive.

Nothing happens, the movie goes nowhere, and then it ends!

IMHO it's a FAR cry from its previews or trailer!
