Researching where to buy a Christmas tree. I haven't had a fresh tree for years, but J said she'd take me to shop for one and help me set it up. I found a place offering Colorado Blue Spruce as well as Douglas, Noble and Nordman Fir, but there are other options, also local - I can't decide.

Not doing much today, other than following doctor's orders (rest, stay hydrated). I saw a beautiful sunrise this morning, listened to some music, and probably should cross-check my list of duties for the coming week, so I show up on time for all my appointments and such. I might go for a walk later today or possibly go shopping. Probably both, in limited ways. Mostly rest, for the coming week of activities.

Trying to stay awake to see if an offer the kids made on a house is accepted. The seller rejected their first offer and then asked for more. The kids have countered but have went as high as they will and not as high as the sellers are asking. They could afford more but have agreed to purchase less because doesn't it seem life always has a way of throwing us curve ball just when we're finally in our comfort zone. Oh wow while typing this I got a call from the kids - their offer was accepted!

More is the question, what am I not doing?

Trying to find non ugly Forever Stamps. Zazzle no longer has them and so far the few places I've found custom postage their stamps don't appear to be Forever Stamps. However even if I'm wrong and they are Forever Stamps I have never seen Christmas stamps so hideous. For that kind of ugly you might as well just buy direct from the United States Post Office. I mean ugly is ugly and their ugly is cheaper so...

Talking to My babygirl, just finished some awesome Mexican food for dinner a bit ago though I could not finish it all. However, I have a southwest chicken salad for lunch tomorrow... making a list of things that need to be accomplished tomorrow.

Yesterday I
- tried to take over the world (again)! (Poik!) playing Civilisation V
- played The Pirate: Caribbean Hunt rather too much and got a bit of cramp from using my mouse too much
- had a nice salmon-flavoured thing (I forget what they're called) for dinner
- generally relaxed to start off my three weeks away from college
- read some web cartoons I like (and found out about arXiv from xkcd - very useful!)
- watched an old TV program about cats (cute and scary how much lions are like moggies! 8-} )
- not much else

Today I must
-get some milk
-wash up the crocks in the sink (umm.. I need to stop letting them pile up!)
-start on finishing my research proposal so I can email it in on Monday
-make sure I do some exercise and get back into a routine with it
-start getting back into good routines generally
-finish writing a letter
-confirm a dinner date with an old friend

And I'm having a think about whether maybe if I rearranged stuff in my flat it'd be a bit easier to look after it. I'm hoping over the winter break I might be able to find a bit of time to work on some poem/lyric ideas I've had over the last few months.
