Good morning everyone :)

:bringcoffee: Coffee is on, and I have some lovely toasted asiago cheese bread from Panera with butter melting on top to go with it. There's more if anyone wants a slice (or three).

My mom is feeling a lot better thanks to the IV nutrition and pain killers and such. Thank you for asking, Zimmy. :rrose: It looks like she will be having surgery either Tuesday or Wednesday to have an ileostomy....and then they still have to figure out what to do about her non-functioning kidney. Luckily, we only need one of those to live, so it's less critical. So, she'll be in the hospital for a bit longer, but she's very impressed with them and says they're taking great care of her.

We're being lazy here today....I slept in until 9:30 :cheer:, and Rooster didn't get up until after 10. I think that's the latest he's ever slept. The Prince and Scoote are still snoozing. She's had to work the last two nights and, even though she's not lifting anything over 10 lbs. all of the quick movement and being busy is rough on her....so I'm glad she's resting.

Later today we'll have to flip a coin to either do the beach or our Old Navy shopping. They're having a $6 sale....shorts, tees, polos, etc. are all $6 each....so we'll be getting the boys (and maybe us too) some new summer clothes. Rooster especially is in need since he's growing so fast. The shorts he has now are all getting a little tight and a little short. :giggle:

Too bad you have to work this weekend, but that paycheck will feel nice! And I'm sure you'll have fun taking the kids swimming Friday. :)

You are welcome!!! That Old Navy sale sounds dangerous to me... I am work today until 2pm and then I'm headed home to clean and take a nap. I had to wake up at 4am this morning and I'm dragging butt.

How about some pancakes and coffee for breakfast? I am not sure why, but I have been craving pancakes the last few days...I had black eyed peas and turnip greens with fresh Italian bread from Publix for dinner the other night. Guess, my body is saying that I am missing some vitamins?

We had an odd and busy weekend, and I don't feel as rested as I'd like, but hey....at least it's a short work week! The pool yesterday was fabulous....I really should be in it every day at this time of year....soooooo relaxing. Although, I forgot the sunscreen and got a little pink...oops!

Rooster is on a serious count down to the end of school. He's done really well this year, and is trying hard to make a strong finish, but I can tell he's getting tired and is ready for that summer break. I wish I still got one too! How great would it be to have summer vacation every year again?

Hope you all had a wonderful day yesterday! It was slow at work lastnight, so I found several historical articles on Theodore Roosevelt and read them for almost two hours. I am going to be taking a book with me tonight. I am starting to do stretches in my cubicle.

:bringcoffee: Coffee is on, and I'm still working on truly waking up. Stepped into a mini-disaster at work as soon as I turned my computer on. Got it straightened out, but it's frustrating to see my boss say one thing, do another, and then reverse it later. It adds so much work and stress unnecessarily.

Talked to my mother last night (daily event with her in the hospital), and she's finally clear on the fact that this is major surgery and not a stroll in the park. She's also done her will....which needed to be done for a whole variety of reasons. It's a good thing, but also a bit of a :blink: feeling as well...

Sounds like the job is going well Zimmy....and doing stretches at work is a great idea...it's so much better for you than just sitting the whole shift. Bravo! :rrose:

Hope you all had a good Hump Day. I am not awake yet, so I am guessing my body hasn't adjusted to my new work schedule. I should have my own room by June 11th, and I am looking forward to it. Matt and I found an apartment for the same amount of square footage as the other two bedroom apartment for $800 a month instead of $980. I cannot wait to get my own place again.

Breakfast is whatever you all want, I am thinking of going back to bed!

Thank you Lady P....her surgery is set for "late" (but no specific time) today. It's major, but she's tough....so I'm sure it will all be fine. In any case, it isn't optional, so there we are. :rrose:

Hey everybody....no word on my mother's surgery yet. They started late, and when I called about 45 minutes ago she was still in.

The nurse said everything was going well (naturally), but it seems a long time to me. Guess I'm just having a hard time wrapping my brain around surgery at midnight on a Friday....but evidently it happens. :blink:

Teavana called me yesterday and they are still interested in hiring me part time. So I am going to call the store manager back this morning and talk to her. Woohoo, I may have a 2nd job!

I called the hospital again about 1 a.m. and they were taking her bed down to the OR so they didn't have to transfer her twice, but she wasn't back in her room yet.

Called about 8:30 this morning and the nurse on her ward said she had a very rough night and nightmares....possibly some difficulty with coming out of the anesthesia. She was very sweet, but I could tell it was a repeat of what happened last time....and I'm sure it wasn't only my mother that had a rough night. I'm feeling for all of them (mother, nurses and other patients) at the moment.

The good news is that the surgery itself went well, and she's sleeping now...so that's the important part.

So now it's the usual Saturday morning....Scoote (who worked late last night) and the Prince are :alarm:, I'm drinking coffee on the patio...alternating with pool cleaning and plant watering....and Rooster is inside with a cup of tea, playing online with an old friend from NY.

Spoke to my mother yesterday. She's groggy from pain-killers, of course, but says she has no pain and the doctors say the surgery went well. They're expecting her to stay a week for recovery. Evidently they won't let her leave until she's back to a normal diet and everything is working properly.

The other relief is the email notification I got today (since I hadn't checked Friday or yesterday) that our passports are complete and on the way to us. Look out Bahamas, here we come! :cheesy:

I spoke with the supervisor of the reservations department yesterday, and she told me, that Peabody is going to start crosstraining all of us and I am looking forward to it. Matt and I settled on an apartment here and it costs the same as the other place we were looking at. :chocolate::wine:

I've got the dishwasher running, laundry washing, and will be heading to BJs so I can restock for the velociraptors as soon as I manage to get motivated and dressed.

The boys are officially in their last week of school....tests today and tomorrow, then 3 short days. For Rooster it's all fun stuff since he's graduating from 8th grade and moving up to high school...picnic, graduation ceremony, senior dance...good stuff. I know they're both more than ready to get started on the fun of summer vacation. :beachkids:

Talked to my mother again yesterday...feeling good, got out of bed for the first time since the surgery, and (joy of joys) they took out the nose tube...which is the thing that bothers her the most. This feels absolutely like a repeat of 7 years ago....very scary, big mess, major surgery....and then a good recovery and back to her old self. Rooster is more than relieved...I can tell it was scaring him more than he was letting on, since he and my mother are very close.

Hope you're all having a good Monday....one more cup of coffee and then I need to get up and motivate! :gimmehug:

It has been a wild week at work. I am so glad that I had yesterday and today off.

Hi all.....those parfaits Snow was serving are looking mighty good about now. Any left?

I'm in a long line that doesn't feel like it is moving. (can you cyber me a stool from Jo's kitchen, and maybe a pair of running shoes? Screw being a fashion diva in this line) Anyhow, I am now doing what I despise. I'm addicted to my phone. Everytime I have any waiting to do, out comes the phone and I start burning up time with it. Not talking, surfing and e mailing. So if totally inappropiate words show up, that is the auto select. And of course, seeing the
ultra fine print requires me to wear my bifocals, but out of boredom, I'll do it. How did I live without this phone? Is the entire world wireless now?

I'm at the Sheriff's office, waiting to file some precapies'. Someone, about 9 people ahead of me, is filing on delinquent taxes. That apparently takes alot of time, or they have fifty million..... I'm trying not to listen, but it's quiet in here, as everyone has the same addiction as I do......

I'm wondering if they work straight through (someone relieves the Deputy for lunch) or if they shut down and we start this mess all over again. No wonder work said "when you are finished filing those, you can go home". I also wonder if I can put my water bottle down to save my space in line while I go to the ladies room? Well, I'm going to try to engage in real conversation with the cell phone addicts, see what the rules are for waiting in line.........geeze. I had
false delusions of me sitting under a tree reading a book this afternoon.

Yellow,just my opinion,but i dont think those parfaits would be enough for you considering the line your standing in..you need something hearty and perhaps causes"fragrance" afterwards.....perhaps THEN that line would move quicker....just a thought :fart:

Jo and I took Rooster to school then shot over to Bob Evans for the best sausage gravy and biscuits in the world..well i had that Jo had cheddar/sausage omelette,hashbrowns and biscuits..came home had a discussion about the kids--now she is in there back to work and i am watching the Casy Anthony trial
