Some hardware at Home Depot and a MacDonald's hamburger kiddie meal. The burger was greatand I love their yogurt in.the tube but the prize sucked. No gizmo to it at all, just a soft smiley round pillow about the size of one's palm... it provides a free game online. I left it on the table with hopes a child will find it and enjoy the game.

Bèsame* 05-02-2016 09:09 AM

Going right to, do not pass go, to the store for cream! There was only a drizzle left. I'm the only one who uses it...what was I thinking?

I tried whipped cream from the can...way too sweet!

Gayandgray 05-02-2016 09:55 AM

A hat, magnet, shirt and a bandana from the Indian dealer here in Sturgis.

randrum 05-05-2016 04:21 PM

An UP2 by Jawbone... I have a Fitbit Flex, but I keep getting a rash from the band. So I'm hoping the UP2 works better. Plus it was a lot cheaper. Thank you Amazon.

Jesse 05-05-2016 04:27 PM

I didn't actually buy anything, except maybe time, but I did pay the last of this month's bills...water and and lawn service.

CherylNYC 05-05-2016 08:31 PM

Overwhelmed by all sorts of adult commitments, I went to the sculptor's supply store and bought myself some beautiful new Italian rifflers.

Nope. It didn't help.

Yesterday while secondhand shopping I found several yards of Yooshin black velvet fabric for less than I would expect to pay retail for one yard of modern velvet. :)

Tonight I'm online window shopping and trying to decide between disposable N-95 and P-100 respirators. It's like shopping for gravel all over again - this is so boring. :(

grenade 05-20-2016 10:22 PM

Iced tea for myself and two coworkers and chex mix.

Yooshin is just a brand/name of a company that has been making velvet fabric since I think it was the 30's. It's not expensive velvet; pure silk velvet can cost hundreds of dollars a yard. And better blends can be spendy too. This is likely just some sort of cotton/synthetic blend but it's got a nice rich color, is soft - feels very nice. It's dress velvet fabric. I'm not sure what velvet comparable to this is selling for in stores today. I just know things like panne, stretch velvet, low end crush velvet, some low end velveteen fabrics run around 5-6 dollars a yard retail and they are not anywhere near as nice as this.

Since I have about 7 and ¾ useable yards here and paid $6.98 I think it was a good deal however for someone able to buy wholesale this probably wouldn't have been as good a deal for them as it was for me. Right now modern versions of this same velvet - by buying in very great bulk, wholesalers might very well be able to get similar fabric for around the same low price per yard, I'm not sure, close though I'm thinking.

Anyhow I have no idea what I will do with this much velvet but I'm going to use some to make some satin lined, silk corded drawstring bags like some people put their tarot cards in or carry crystals, semi-precious gemstones, other trinkets, amulets around in, for my son to take up to barter fair and see what happens.

easygoingfemme 05-27-2016 07:02 AM

oh, the bargain you found! I was thinking small handbags, trimming a pocket, even adding a cuff of velvet to a pair of black jeans. I love searching for older clothing that I can take apart for the fabrics! You truly found a treasure, said one fabric lover!

Gayandgray 05-27-2016 09:35 AM

We are at the outlet stores. She got 6 golf shirts and 3 pair of shorts for $133! I got a $64 sweater @ 70% off for $20 including tax!

Doesn't happen every day but oh so satisfying to get a bargain!

FireSignFemme 05-27-2016 05:46 PM

Today From Goodwill

2 pack of double sided cardboard cat scratching posts that can hang off a doorknob, 17 cans of cat food (no worries not under recall we checked) so Monte can officially be part of this thrift store shopping awesome, wonderfulness, and a Boye long loom set for me. All of it brand new and for about 1/3 what it would have cost at Wallyworld, Tarjay or some other such similar place :) I love the way stores in our area donate to second hand stores/thrift shops instead of just tossing everything they don't sell to be hauled away - pitched into landfills like retailers in other places I've lived.
