It's been a magically delicious day :) Smiles abound...here's a chronological list:

Woke up to a text from my brother...who doesn't text...like ever

Spent a good part of the morning/ afternoon with a good friend, having good conversation...

Drove through the beautiful NC countryside with said friend...

Explored an adorable little town...a hardware store that sells seed...happy sigh... :)

Bought some books...books are great friends too...

Got the much craved for pizza....thanks to above mentioned friend.. :hangloose:

Got home and noticed a I had a voicemail...turns out I had like 5

One was my friend singing happy birthday to me...
One was my dad singing happy birthday to me...
One was my brother singing happy birthday to me...
One was my youngest wishing me a happy birthday...
One was an incredible job offer...

On top of all that, my landlord came up and we had a nice talk. We sat outside, the sun was shining...and it feels near to 50 today.....the horse was whinnying, the bulls were bellowing..a gentle breeze was blowing...and all feels right in the world...

Mind you, I said a prayer just last night...hoping for some good changes...goes to show what happens when you ask nicely...and ask the right person...

What made me smile: I just received more work today, which is great because I'm a freelancer so I'm always afraid of the well running dry.

A few things yesterday and a few things today.

A dozen perfect roses arriving at my door. Thank You, Trev. :)

*perhaps this should be in the Swoon thread. ;)

Seeing my beautiful grandbaby today...oh my goodness...my cup runneth over...

Blade 12-03-2014 08:48 PM

Seeing the Christmas Elf putting the star on top of the tree. I can't believe she will be 4 in as many days. I love this age, still so naive and innocent. She says the funniest things and is so intense when she makes conversation.

TIMBERWOLF 12-03-2014 11:39 PM

Looking in my baby's eye's and thinking about last night and how lucky a Butch I am to be married to an incredible ,passionate woman that after only 5 months I love her more each day. :married:

About 100 brains missing from University of Texas...

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — The University of Texas at Austin is missing about 100 brains — about half of the specimens the university had in a collection of brains preserved in jars of formaldehyde.

One of the missing brains is believed to have belonged to clock tower sniper Charles Whitman.

"We think somebody may have taken the brains, but we don't know at all for sure," psychology Professor Tim Schallert, co-curator of the collection, told the Austin American-Statesman (http://bit.ly/11R7vym ).

His co-curator, psychology Professor Lawrence Cormack, said, "It's entirely possible word got around among undergraduates and people started swiping them for living rooms or Halloween pranks."

The Austin State Hospital had transferred the brains to the university about 28 years ago under a "temporary possession" agreement. Schallert said his psychology lab had room for only 100 brains, so the rest were moved to the basement of the university's Animal Resources Center.

"They are no longer in the basement," Cormack said.

Traffic isn't bad, made it a little early to my pain management appointment...delighted that it's such a pretty day. Am looking forward to enjoying an early dinner in town.

Smiling big!

I found home!

Thank you for your advice, Cinnamongrrl! I thought of you as I was taking in the light and the energy. Now, this doesn't mean I will get it, but I'm going to try for it and the verdict will be up to The Universe. I could sure use some good luck, though.

It is everything I want in a place - I'm beside myself with excitement, but trying not to get too excited. Please keep your fingers crossed for me!

My landlord.

I recently hurt my back during my time off, then used PTO for days of work I missed, only to find out that PTO was not my usual union wage but the substandard minimum wage, which threw a kink in to my paycheck, and made it impossible to make a timely payment.

I feel super lucky to have such a kind hearted landlord.

When I went to my once a week store the clerk told me my other half is a beautiful woman.
I said, "yes she is"! ;-)
