ya know, the elk horn was for the dog, it was gotten at a actual doggy store.
the drift wood is for you, cause you like crafty things! It would be karmatic justice if the dog got a hold of it though

maybe the dead line should be my birthday!!!!!!!!! April 24th! that gives everyone time.

*hrumph* to karmatic justice. *injured sniff* the dog gets plenty of bones to chaw upon; she cannot have my driftwood.... and neither can her brother! :hrmph:

So, I sure hope everyone meant it that cat hair is not a problem... how funny that so many of us have cats!

Please remember to use the Asheville address for Nick (Paphigleo).

I like the April 24th deadline! That helps a lot.

All the addresses should be in the Database on the Yahoogroup. Log into Yahoo. Go to the email list. Click on Database on the left hand side to access the database. :)

i had been there and i went back
"complete phone book" in my way of thinking means something to be completed, not something that is done, that would be "completed phone book"
so I clicked it and magically there it is!!!!!!

So, after the new bed delivery this morning, I was out the door to the post office, squares ready to be packed in jiffy bags and posted.

Trip to wally world to pick up jiffy bags. Sat in the car for 20 mins stuffing the squares into the bags (I got too small a size, I think) and addressing them.

Stop at the post office, bag full of stuffed envelopes, a digital cable box ready to be mailed back to Comcast (of the devil, I tell ya) and my mother's 75th bday afghan (twin bed spread size). I struggle to the door under my various postal packages and low and behold... they are CLOSED!!! :overreaction:

They are all in the car and I will post them from Richmond on Monday.

Awww Christie, that kinda thing happens to me too.

My local grocery store has a scale and sells postage, so that's where I'll be taking the envelopes this coming week.

Ami, I'll be on the watch for the box.

Bit 04-12-2010 04:12 PM

{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{Ami}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} The driftwood is MARVELOUS!! Thank you so very very much!!

The twisty stick is mine; I claimed it. :cheesy: Gryph can have the other one though, if he would like.... but the twisty stick? Mine! Mine! Mine! <insert seagull smiley here, lol>

Keeping track: I have received swapghan and raffleghan squares from Ami and from Christie.

I have managed to address envelopes to go out to y'all... no squares inside those envelopes yet, though, lol...

christie 04-12-2010 05:45 PM

Mine went into the mail system today. Here's praying that USPS has a clue. Being in the mail business, I am not that hopeful! LOL

Welp. I just sent out ours. K helped me with some since I was having a heck of a time keeping my lines straight (I swear I measured it with each row! ) Anyways, those who got the green ones... sorry. :( I did try very hard. They are mostly straight...

No worries from me, Linus. There isnt anything "remotely straight" about me :cracked:

(sometimes, I crack me up)

Linus 04-14-2010 02:15 PM

LOL.. well, it was taking me about a day or two to do one square (I'd look at it, realize it was uneven, unravel it and try again). Thankfully, K felt pity for me and helped me out with some.

Not to worry, darlin! The beauty of knitting and crochet is that they are sooo forgiving--being stitched into an afghan will likely correct any inconsistencies in the various squares.

Jusy fyi when you're making projects for yourself, if a square is really crooked, it can always be blocked, also. You wet it, smooth it to the proper size and shape, and pin it down, then let it dry. Solves all KINDS of problems!

Bit 04-15-2010 10:02 PM

Christie's square arrived today!

christie 04-16-2010 07:08 AM

I've received ami's!

Thanks :D
