Today I found joy:
  • Working with some pretty darn fun people
  • Hanging out with Lips
  • Coffee after midnight
  • Skype and laughing my butt off which made someone dizzy which made me laugh even harder
  • The knowledge that my life is so blessed

A morning talk while still cuddled in bed
Running dungeons with guild members
Taking a break to do a little tidying up..Feeling guilty like I should be doing more but I can never find the motivation to do it all at once, just in spurts

Soft*Silver 02-20-2011 10:14 PM

ahhhh....my daughter had me over her house tonight. She baked me stuffed shells and then a carrot cake with cream cheese icing. How lovely of a girl, this woman child is...she took care of me today. We watched her many thousand channels of cable and I was mesmerized by this half hour show of odd obsessions people had. She laughed and giggled as she watched me bug eyed talk to the tv as I was appalled at the woman who ate the stuffing out of couches and the gal who ate comet. Ewwwww....

it was a remarkably joyous evening!

This very talented 10 year old from Winnipeg made me cry.

Awww, and she got to talk to Lady Gaga. And then she cried. And then they sang together.

God, and this beautiful day He created.
The love I receive every day.
My Family and the way we care for each other.

I [finally] took Lucy in for her yearly...and she had her nails trimmed (also finally) and got all of her shots and junk (You don't wanna know that part!).

The dog whisperers were there, so she was very, very good! They said SHE was the best dog they'd had all day. :|

She may have gotten extra cookies when we got home. :)

Saying "I'm sorry" and making up with my 17 year old daughter after having been mad at her and non-communicative for over a week. I feel so much better! It so pays to take the high road, even when there is no good recipe for crow.

Kenna 02-23-2011 10:23 PM

On my way to work......

watching the returning Killdeers and a HUGE flock of Robins playing, darting about and chitter-chattering and finding blooming daffodils!!
Plus all this week, to and from work, driving past miles and miles of farm fields covered in little bright purple flowers. Whole fields of wild flowers!
It was a beautiful morning drive!
My days of deep cold Pennsylvania Winters are OVER!!

Arwen 02-23-2011 10:39 PM

Two Skype calls in one night. :hangloose:

my shadow

My niece calling me this morning and making me laugh when I was angry. I just got cut off by some idiot , and almost had a wreck. Which instantly ticked me off, and made me wish I could yank the non driving fu*& out of his car , and knock the dog crap out of him. Then a second later my phone rings and her sweet little excited voice announces it's ME MADDIE. hahaha I told her I was so glad she called because I was mad. I told her I was so sick of people who don't know how to drive, and she said, well maybe those people in that city don't have drivers licenses'. HAHA That made me laugh, her little 7 yr old problem detection skills, trying to fix my problem for me, so sweet. I love her!!!!!!!!!!!

I enjoyed having my Phinneas follow me everywhere in the house. Up and down stairs was easy for him. We did laundry. He ate while I made a meatloaf and did dishes and swept the floors. But the best of all, was laying on the couch and watching tv and doing the internet together. He snuggled into the nook of my knees and laid there as part of me.

He does need to learn manners with the kitties tho. He has never been around cats before. I have Mr Smitty who is truly a wise cat, but very much reminds me of an autistic child. He will come to me to be touched, but once my hand is on him, he has to direct the touch. I cant just pet him freely. And god forbid I try to hold him. He acts as tho i am trying to peel his skin off. I have another cat, CatFace, the bold and beautiful, a stray I took in, who has a queen bea attitude. She and Smitty often have eye wars and bat at each other at times.

Well, today, Phinneas attacked Smitty...actually tried to bite him this time...and out of nowhere, CatFace the bold and beautiful, lept in mid air and jumped on Phinneas and knocked him over, hissing and spitting and growling and cuffing him several times in rapid succession. Mr Smitty bolted for the couch and ran up behind my head where I was sitting and Phinneas jumped up in my lap and climbed ontop of my head too and hung onto my face like a baby crab...scared to death, trembling. CatFace, the bold and beautiful got on the seat of the couch and looked at me and the Phinneas. I laughed and told her I would handle it from here and patted her. Then I reassured both Smitty and Phinneas. Eventually Phinneas calmed down enough to slide down and crawl under my legs for about an hour before he could finally relax.

What really amazed me was about ten minutes after the fight was all over, CatFace, the bold and beautiful, jumped up on the back of the couch and walked up to Smitty. Now she never approaches Smitty unless its to cuff him. Not this time. This time, she touched noses with him and softly made some noises. And he made soft noises back. She stood there for a few moments and then she left. Wow. Lioness taking care of her tribe. She became my hero tonight. And Phinneas learned something important. Cats rule and dogs drool.

After finding out that our April flight to Tokyo via NY had been canceled it worked out better in the end thanks to my baby working her magic. So, now we fly direct out of VA (where we live) and we got upgraded to economy plus roundtrip for the 15 hour flight. Saving a lot of time and money brings us joy!

This morning:
for the first time this year, watching a Spring Birdie completely enjoy his "happy time" birdie bath in a mud puddle. He was having too much fun!

This evening:
having a really beautiful and bright Indigo Bunting cross my path with his little zippy-flit-flutters!

Makes me wish I had a Tree House where I could bird watch all day!

Blade 03-03-2011 05:21 PM

what about the peepers last night?

I had to leave my garden go last year at the end of the season. I couldnt tear it down and put it to bed and it had bothered me all winter to look at it.

It was such a beautiful day and I wanted to let Phinneaus run around in the fenced in area, so we went outside in the garden.

He did his little terrier dog kind of strut-march all along the parameter, grunting and growling, high stepping, then shoving his nose way deep into the ground, snorting and kicking up dirt like god needed to watch out too...lol

I had such a good laugh at the little stunted man, that I couldnt help but feel better...and I turned to my trellises and tomato stakes and started cleaning them free of leftover plant material. So brittle from the winter, they just snapped right off. Last fall they would have made me struggle to tear them away. Now it felt like I was pulling away all the hard times i had been thru, from the health issues, to the finances, to the loss of Story...I just lifted it up and removed it so easily as I watched my little guardian patrol my boundaries to make sure no harm was going to come my way...I surely felt some guidance and intervention from above at that moment. Some from my beloved Story, and some, well, some from what we all call in one form or another, god...

somehow, I think this year's garden is going to be a little different in the outcome...

I had such a good time in my garden today, with me and my dogs and my god....
