Gas

Bag of peanuts
Candy bar, half of which Mr. Potato :dog: ate while I was in the convenience store. :badmood:
I told him any illness was on his ass for eating chocolate.

It didn't. Every once in a while it would spit a little bit but it was less than a teensy drizzle and only off and on. It was great, actually. Overcast and cool. Last year, it was in the 90s and super humid and ridiculously hot and miserable. This time was waaaay better.

Inquiring minds...

I had to look up what a salt lamp was and how cool are these!

However, combined with a pet (the bags); don't they just turn into a giant salt lick for the furry house members?

Remembering my late :cat: and thinking she would have just parked next to it and over time....well..

Jesse 07-12-2016 09:56 PM

Well I've had both dogs and the salt lamps for years and not had any problems with the dogs being even remotely interested in the lamps. It may become a problem if I decide to keep cattle or deer as pets. Lol!

How did I not know there were biodegradable poop bags? I will no longer feel guilty every time I have to use a bag!

I think I will get a crapload of 'em and hand them out to friends who I know use poop bags.

I bought my honey a big Himalayan salt lamp 3 years ago. We turn it on often.

With the Fla. humidity, we have to keep a saucer under it & it is up on a multi-shelf unit so the pets neither will get up to it....:)

KELT: these lamps are very cool! If you find a gem shop close to you, they usually sell these!!!!

Jesse 07-13-2016 11:05 AM

Clay I'm curious, why do you have to keep a saucer under it? I just have mine sitting on a rubbery disc thingamabob to keep it from scratching up the surface it is sitting on. Also nowadays you buy them on Amazon and other online retailers, but I think I did buy mine from a gem shop over 10 years ago and they were much more expensive back then than they are now.

P.S. I just read that humidity will cause them to sweat, unless you just leave them on, then the heat from the bulb will prevent the sweat. That's why I didn't know why the need for the saucer, I only turn mine off when I go to bed and then turn it right back on when I get up in the morning. It never dawned on me about the sweating. Doh!

Originally we didn't use anything under it, BUT seems the humidity is far worse on the Gulf side.

So, one day when I went to dust, there was a "melted crystallized ring" under ours. My honey has some cool purple saucers, it fits perfectly.

We tried a rubber non skid piece of foam BUT it is perforated & the salt lamp melted again, so now we have saucer.

I paid $20 for this one, included light kit & wiring already assembled. Has a slide switch inline, so just turn on & off that way.

Thanks, Jesse!!!

FoodSaver vacuum sealer, used but in great shape for just $5.41 - sales tax included. Cheapest I could find it on ebay was $25.00; Amazon wanted $50.00, so I'm pretty happy about this purchase. It's just a basic model, I didn't want to buy new/sink big money into one with all the bells and whistles until I knew for sure I was really going to like it/use one. What can I say now I'm addicted; I want to vacuum seal everything in sight. Food for the kids, first aid supplies, catnip for Monte the Magnificent... People better watch what they put down because if I run out of stuff of my own I might just start nabbing up theirs to vacuum seal/get my fix. Now I'm off to price FoodSaver bags or similar by the caseload. I think if I buy them in bulk I might be able to get ready made bags for almost as cheap as buying the plastic by the roll and hassling with hacking it up to make my own. I plan to purchases some food items in bulk and when I do I don't want to be standing around fiddling for hours with making up these stupid little bags to put it all in. I mean if I was in prison with nothing but time on my hands, I might agree to slave away making them for 10 cents an hour what for want of canteen money, but for free when I am free? - doubtful.
