I can so relate to this, DamselFly...they are precious gifts, our pets. My 6-month old Bichon-Frise, Pinky, is my heart. She keeps me laughing and smiling all day. They are, however, a big responsibility, and require alot of work. The love part is easy - how can you resist those trusting, loving eyes. You are their lifeline - they depend on you for everything, just like a child. But these children never grow up - I think that's the best part. :) Good luck with your kiddies - you'll all bond and get closer with each passing day, and you'll wonder how you ever lived without them. :)

I finished up my LAST EVER case study prior to graduation in May! I have gained enough proficiency that it only took me 1.5 hours, start to finish, and I am now fairly fluent in speaking, writing, and reading Medicalese!! It's all over but the shouting now!! One more 5 week clinical, one comprehensive final and I will have my degree and move on to studying for my state license!!! WOOOOHOOOOOO!!!!! :freak:

Spending time with my honey today! First, we snuggled for an hour after waking, then he willingly went shopping with me, THEN he admitted that I WAS RIGHT about the zen/quiet Wal-Mart, and then we went to Costco where he got cranky, and then we came home and have been putzing about since.

Playing in the pool with Rooster and the Prince :cheesy:
It was a bit chilly to start, but we got used to it pretty quick...the floaties and pool noodles got a workout....and I may have to top it up tomorrow cuz there was a whole lotta' splashing and laughing going on! |
A nice, long walk during lunch with my favourite Shih Tzu;
Very smoothe, yummy coffee to sip on all day courtesy of my thermal thingy; and Words of encouragment |
a beautiful sunny day....(even though I'm at home sick after a hard-to-breathe week) and finding a BUNCH of tee-tiny, fragile, tender, little green sprouts popping through the soil in the raised gardens we planted last weekend!! :cheer::wateringgarden::wateringgarden::frog: :awww: I was so happy that the raised beds were strong enough to survive the storm we had the other night!! All my baby sprouts were safe under their poly tarp.... not like last year when the thunder storms kept washing things out. I'm happy and positive that the garden will be very successful this year!!!!! And that the raised beds won't take as much back-breaking work!! |
The unexpected pleasure of Miss Pink having a 3 day weekend. Laid back chillin' with her and the Pack and putting out resumes for job offers. Having my first interview and knowing that my employment options post graduation are limited only by what setting I choose to work in and where we want to be!!! Making weekend plans to go to the local Cherry Blossom festival on Saturday and the challenge of racing my mountain bike on Sunday.....LIFE is GOOD!!

Having coffee together Sade playing in the background Its a beautiful day His weekend off! Quality time at its finest!! :bunchflowers: |
A text.....

Actually, joy visited me last night when I had a very sweet phone conversation with an ex. My heart is warmed to no end by the fact that after our lovership of 11 years ended, we were able to morph the relationship into a deep and abiding friendship.

getting my bird feeders up that someone sent me last year!

sitting within earshot of a conversation my daughter is having with her friend..and not purposely listening, but catching a few moments of what she was saying which made me really smile.. in fact - made me feel like i really have done good.. Single parenting has it's difficult moments, but moments like this, that make the heart smile knowing she hears me, learns from me and really looks up to me and loves the heck out of me.. even through my imperfections and my sillyness and embarrassing moments over the years, they really look up to me and truly do respect me now as the young adults theyre growing into... these teenager years i was sure were turning me gray! but seems these moments will make every gray worthwhile! ♥ i sure do love the heck outta them! |
Hope something does soon....

i woke up this morning with little fatigue and pain. i was able to do a complete morning's session of chanting, reading, prayer, study, and meditation at my altar, something i hadn't been able to do for a few weeks! this always brings me a feeling of deep contentment and peace, such a wonderful way to start my day.
*sending peace and joy to all* namaste, DamselFly :moonstars: |
My dog. He does that pretty much everyday.

Sitting at my favourite overlook on the BRP, enjoying my coffee and a misty, soggy sunrise - the sun struggling to be seen through the clouds covering the mountaintops...very good for the mind, body and soul...

This morning when I went to feed the outdoor critters....I found 4 TINY precious brand new babies!! I just LOVE baby animals!! Especially when they are this CUTE and have such sweet tiny ears and tiny little voices!! (however, enough is enough already!)
http://i815.photobucket.com/albums/z...g?t=1301450386 I sent a text to my roomie... "1 calico, 2 black-n-whites and 1 ORANGE baby!!! Imagine that!! an ORANGE kitty to go with Blade's collection of Tennessee fan club stuff! The other thing that brought me joy....finding a foster home today for ALL the babies and momma cat. I get one night with my sweet babies, then they get to go to a really good home where they will get all the care/vet visits they need and then put into a No Kill adoption program!! That makes me very happy for them. |
Getting to Level 41 in Pirates of the Caribbean Online game! Yeah!

I brought in my "greenhouse" which is nothing more than a stacked set of shelved with plastic over them, with a zippered door. I think I can get my daughter to haul in topsoil and help me load up trays. I have to get the squash families started. I am already a couple weeks behind but thats not too bad.
I decided I am going to go thru the motions. If nothing else, my niece can sell the starts at her garage sale in May. If I am lucky, I can plug them into some raised beds I hopefully can pay someone to put up if my SSDI checks get here fast enuf. I have one in the makings, setting out back, ready to be assembled. I got cat litter buckets today from garden friends so I could plant some potatoes. My joy comes because I havent lost hope. And because I do have faith I will still be able to garden. No considering how I feel right now, and how long lasting this ordeal has been, most other would have given up. But I plan on eating from my back yard this year.... |

Question> Potatoes in plastic buckets. I have lots of those in the garage. Saved, because I knew they would come in handy someday. |
here is a fella who has a whole set of videos that goes step by step on potato buckets!

the other thing buckets are good for, is compost tea. Stick manure in the bucket, about 1/4 full, add water, stick it out in the sun and let it sit for a few days, with the lid on or off. I like the lid on. It brews it like sun tea. Wonderful nutrients for your garden.
