I was letting the dogs out on this drizzly morning and realized I could hear the rooster that lives about a mile down the road. He has the most soulful crow I've ever heard. Typically, we hear him when we are walking by. I was so pleased to hear him that I left both my front doors open so I could sit and listen..... :)

Seeing my Clients tonight for one of their birthdays. She turns 92 tomorrow. What a beautiful love they have shared for almost 70years.

I saw a Massachusetts plate today!!!!

I've lived down here nearly 2 years and have seen Maine, Connecticut, Vermont, New Hampshire and heaps of New York.... even a Rhode Island . Never a Massachusetts.


And....like a true Masshole...they initially pissed me off for driving stupid lol Before long I was beeping and waving. I'm sure they were thinking Asheville is a very odd place.. :)

The sunrise..

I watched it from the first...in all its variances of stages and colors...from pink to gold...

The sunrise here is delayed by the mountains...so the sky wakes slowly...

Today it revealed an almost literal blanket of mist in the valley...and as the sun rose the mist came up the hill to the woods in front of my house...and I took the prettiest picture of the sun fiktering through the mist...

I sent the picture to several people...it renewed my appreciation for being here...I do realize how fortunate I am to be surrounded by such beauty..

Watching my son learn jingle bells...sorta. at the top of his lungs, in Trader Jo's... cause what does the day after the holiday matter when your 20 months old? Sometimes the absurdity of a messy life is what feels the most magical.

Last night my buddy homoe cracked me up.

I'm sitting in a mall waiting for a friend and just saw a man play hopscotch on the tiles with a young boy. Very sweet.

Taking a walk out in the sunshine and feeling the cool crisp air.

oh just sassypants and gigglesnorts

Knowing that I will not have to work until 3AM to finish the annual close next week!

So many reasons to smile today:
 

1. I got my bookshelf put together and it looks really nice - and I even used all the parts which is a good sign that it won't suddenly fall apart one day, lol.

2. I managed to change the toilet seat which was broken. A revolting task, but it had to be done because every time I sat down it was pinching my bottom, lol.

3. This actually happened two days ago, but it's still pretty cool. I went out to my car to get tools and when I turned around I was startled to find THREE wild peacocks standing right behind me! Like, reach out and touch me behind me. Two females and one male. They were just hanging around showing off for me in their natural resplendence. I saw 5 of them once on the roof of the building across the street strutting around. I'd guess I'd strut around like that, too, if my backside looked nearly so glorious, lol.

4. No work - always a reason to smile, lol.
