Yes,I haev wanted to just walk away from the whole crazy world,buy an RV load my fur kids up and hit the road till I found a peice of heaven and stayed there.

thats what I would do. Just go. No real agenda, plan... just see things, drive, meet people, see all kinds of lakes, creeks, oceans. I have a piece of heaven here but I wish sometimes I could just get up and go.

this is actually my plan for semi-retirement in a couple of years.

just do it!!!

ETA: also hope i can persuade some friends to take a week of vacation and travel with me, here and there. company for me, roadtrip for them....everybody wins.

Some years back while in Yosemite I was with my Mom on one of the tour trains in the park. The guide was a guy that had been a corporate attorney in LA for years that had it all. He also had high BP and cholesterol, panic attacks, 2 failed marriages, and was estranged from his kids.

He took just one vacation to Yosemite, went back to LA, sold his practice and everything material he owned and applied to be a tour guide in Yosemite. He lived in a small cabin in the valley, is off all meds, in the best shape ever, does not have panic attacks anymore and his kids visited every summer. His eyes were crystal clear and his tour talks were phenomenal. He had been there 9 years then and when I returned 5 years later he was still there and had remarried a woman that had done much the same thing. He looked as happy and fulfilled as ever.

Yes, I have thought about doing something like this like my prior post. I am finding more simple much more rewarding. I thought I would miss my professional life, but don't. I love just living in a small bungalow growing veggies and flowers and really talking with people... hearing them. I still look at some material things I have and seem to get rid of them more and more.

I still think about making it much more simple....

HYEJWT: Be totally silent for a least a week, not utter one word as a way to see what exists around you much more clearly? There is a guy that did this for almost 20 years and his book is amazing. What he was able to see and actually understand goes further than anything I have ever attempted.
