things I should have but dont

an electric screwdriver. I cant twist hard enough with a regular screwdriver because of my bad shoulder. And there are SO many things waiting to be hung here...sighing...I really need an electric screwdriver....

Gayla 08-07-2010 06:58 PM

A cooling pad for my laptop to keep at the office.

I have one at home but don't carry it around and have never gotten one for my desk at the office. Instead, I just prop it up on the spine side of a 3 ring binder and hope that's enough air flow.

I recommend getting an electric drill instead. I have one and I love it. I have carpal tunnel, so twisting my wrists isn't good....no power to speak of and lots of pain. With the drill I can drill a thin guide hole, then use the screwdriver attachment on the drill to screw in the screw. Much easier and takes less ummph. :)

I pretty much have everything I need. Now if only I could find things when I actually need them! :vigil:

Mine is a Ryobi HP721K (I just peeked :) ) and it was inexpensive and has lasted for years.

You don't need a heavy one...and I'm sure there are better ones out there now. I just went to Home Depot and started asking questions. They let me try several and this one felt good to me.

Have fun power tool shopping! :rrose:

bigbutchmistie 08-07-2010 09:18 PM

Bit 08-07-2010 09:38 PM

A working oven. Mine is good for slow roasting or for charring, but nothing in the middle. I so miss holiday baking, and making bread!

Oh, and a saucepan. I had a lovely four quart Revereware saucepan and lid, but I forgot it was on the fire the day the guy came back and trimmed our trees and now it's charred too, well beyond redemption. Sheesh.

Semantics 08-07-2010 09:44 PM

A firmer ass.

turasultana 08-07-2010 09:45 PM

I agree on the oven. mine is a wall oven from maybe 1973? It scares me.

I could also use a maid.

ALWAYS a Ryobi. They can last me for years and that's sayin something. Practically indestructible.

A bass boat is flatter than a walleye boat. After that, it's all how you set it up.

I was going to say "a girlfriend" but, BBM beat me to it with "a wife". lol. SO, I should have more room in the driveway to park my truck so it's here when I want it.

moxie 08-07-2010 09:51 PM

a long, thick, luscious mane of straight (my own) hair that always gives me a good hair day.

my hair's is quite long and thick (that sounds rude) but too wavy and gets frizzy. so I'll say maybe i should have Brazilian Keratin treatment. maybe.

Soft*Silver 08-07-2010 10:40 PM

now you have me wondering where walleyes are...

so what makes a bass boat a bass boat, as opposed to a minnow boat? I know you have minnows down there.. :)

Sorry for the derail, folks...

Bit - the oven might be a simple fix. Ours was fritzy until the lower element caught fire one day (luckily we were in the kitchen when it happened). Bought the replacement element online for less than $20 and it was an easy replacement - couple screws. I think we still need to replace the upper element, but am holding off in hopes of a new macdaddy gas range for our Christmas prezzie!

christie 08-09-2010 06:16 AM

More patience.

Bit 08-09-2010 06:23 AM

{{{{{{{{{{{Christie}}}}}}}}}} The repair guy said it was definitely the thermostat; he was going to replace it, but then he couldn't get one becuase it's so old that they discontinued making the parts.

BUT... I have been looking into Nesco ovens. Amazon has one for $70. I just need to find out if I can actually bake cookies in one before I add it to the ever-growing wish list.

Ryobi 08-09-2010 11:29 AM
