I thought it would be fun to see what everyones favorite candy is or what candy you loved when you were a kid . If you make great candy or know someone that does, Can I have some?. :girleating::cooking: Look.. I make Blaze drive me 60 miles to Galveston, for great salt water taffy, they make it right there in the store. the taffy maker will throw pieces at you while he's wrapping it . they have it by the barrels!!!! I buy several pounds. I love it . Ya know good taffy is really hard to find!... It's called La King's:king:
If you know a place where they make the best candy ever please share... I wanted to start a candy thread cause i love candy , I don't eat much of it tho. actually prefer homemade. I have worked two candy stores I met my best friend there. We had to answer the phone "Candy Heaven Where all your dream come true." She hopes to have her own candy store one day. my favorites: Banana taffy, chocolate taffy , Homemade caramel , pralines i sometimes get in new orleans, redhots:grindevil: So..... what's your candy?:cc: Happy Halloween |

When I was a little girl... My favorite candy bar was "Rocky Road."
http://blogs.westword.com/cafesociety/RockRoad.JPG I was 10 years old (last time I almost had one)... I had just come back from having my arm re-broken (was not healing right) and my Mom promised me a Rocky Road bar... Sigh ** She got out of the car and I waited like the good girl (who took the pain) I was (lol). She got back in the car, handed me my Rocky Road candy bar - as I reached for it, she said - "Oh No Julie, you cannot have this - you just had anesthesia and cannot eat for another 6 hours." I WANT MY FUCKING ROCKY ROAD CANDY BAR NOW! |
|
Had to come back to add...
Nuts & Chews from SEES candy, and Cote d'or Belgium-Chocolate. I will return later with more, lmao |

At Christmas my momma would make peanut brittle, and my mamma Bailey would make the pralines....yummmmmmm.
I love the peanut butter logs, and chicastix too when i was growing up. Zero candy bar is still one of my favs, with a 7up to wash it down with! |
Zero was the first thing that popped into my head! I haven't had one of those in years!
I have an ex that used to make the most amazing brittle. It wasn't hard but more like flaky. I miss that brittle. We've got a candy dish in the back room at the office and my current favorite is what ever it happens to be in it. Right now it's some Halloween mix so there's Tootsie Rolls and peanut butter cups. |
i absolutely LOVE Sees chocolate!! Because it's only available here near xmas, i order online at least once a year, and love that you can make your own box!!
And omg their peanut brittle!! http://fashiontribes.typepad.com/mai...ut_brittle.jpg :rhondaisdroolingnow: |
I love candy....unfortunately. It is one thing I have had to seriously curtail......

Coconut anything :D !
I have loved coconut ever since I was little. Yum! Tutku It's. The. Best. Thing. Ever. http://www.etietieti.com/English/ima...res_mozaik.gif A certain brand of peppermints - I buy them by the box. And I like those sesame-in-caramel bonbons Chancie chose. But I'm more into savoury snacks, fruits and nuts and seeds than I'm into sweets :) . |
I have eatin chocolate covered insects , dipped ants and somekind of mealworm i think. Yall it was actually very delicious. :smladybug:
At the insectatium in new orleans , a chef makes them there all day and it's free, they also make cookies with grasshoppers it's really a cool place :spider: :eatinghersheybar:  |
As a kid... it was the ooey gooey, stick to your teeth, sweet goodness of a SUGAR DADDY!
Around the holidays, I love when family & friends break out the homemade goodies like pralines or divinity. OMG! But, my longtime favorite candy bar, is still Reese Peanut Butter Cups. |

http://www.fanniemay.com/assets/home...Trin220x98.jpg When it comes to chocolate, these are my favorites The bottom boxed candy is Trinidads from Fanny May http://www.fanniemay.com/store/bestsellers.html However, I always keep a box of these at home http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...A300_SH20_.jpg |
I don't usually have much of a sweet tooth (I prefer salty stuff), but when I was a kid, Mother used to get these things and make the desert recipe on the back of the bag. It was a popular favorite at the church pot lucks. I would snag 'em behind her back. Jeez, are they ever *sweet*, so I couldn't eat many of them at a time.
http://i576.photobucket.com/albums/s...cuspeanuts.jpg When we'd go to the movies, my sister and I would always get a box of these: http://i842.photobucket.com/albums/z...gar_babies.jpg Funny, but both of these are now considered "vintage candies". :| ~Theo~ :bouquet: |
See's candy...the ones with the little choc sprinkles, and my all time fav...Candy corn!!!! Yumbolicious...
|
|
I soooo miss these....
http://www.hopeandgreenwood.co.uk/up...ly%20LARGE.jpg I haven't had one since about 8 years old...and when we went to the only candy store/gas station in town, I would go with a mission!! To get 2 of those and I wouldn't BUDGE till my step dad gave in! and my long time favorite... http://www.doodlessugarbush.com/imag..._fudge_wal.jpg I have a HUGE sweet tooth... but finding my favorites is certainly a treat and is often associated with a very fond memory. |

Being from the Chicagoland area, Fannie May has always been one of my favorites, particularly Vanilla Buttercreams. No one else's are the same!
http://www.fanniemay.com/assets/items/82ozCreamEgg.jpg Every Easter we would get a Fannie May solid chocolate bunny and a few cream eggs. They were huge and so good. I was last in Chicago in January and bought numerous vanilla buttercream hearts. http://candyaddict.com/blog/candy_im..._candy_bar.jpg These are hard to find, and I am not supposed to eat them as I have developed an allergy to peanut butter but I still eat them anyways. http://www.foreign-candy.com/content...mages/Zotz.jpg Cherry was my favorite. I liked them simply because they fizz. |

candy
Although I have never been a big candy eater , I did love swedish fish. Still do every now and then.

Just for InfiniteFemme :)

I like just about all of their candy bars, going way back to when I was a kid ;) Then of course there's the Sugar Daddy and Sugar Babys, chocolate covered raisins, mentos, and Dove chocolates, and, and, and...... the list could go on and on and on ;) LOL I don't eat sweets much anymore though. |
