THIN MINTS!!!!
The topic: THIN MINTS (or your favorite Girl Scout Cookie)
You know, the kind sold by those sneaky little Girl Scouts.... no matter how hard you avoid them, they FIND YOU!!!! If I didn't know any better, I think they earn badges on how to stalk potential cookie buyers (aka: SUCKERS) I NEVER, ever, in a million years, thought I would see a Girl Scout at the Fort Worth Stock Show Parade Staging Grounds where it was 40 degrees and rainy.... and overall nasty weather..... we were all done with our part of the parade, (which, by the way, is the longest non-motorized parade in the world) and my team and I were unsaddling our horses and had gotten them loaded up in the trailers....when out of nowhere like she was stalking me, comes this little girl...." 'scuse me" she says.... "yes young lady, can I help you" was my reply (mistake #1.... I should have run like the wind).... what can I say.... I thought she needed help.... and ..... well, nevermind.... when her face brightened up I should have known to run, but nooooo.... I stood there and my jaw dropped as she asks "wudja like to buy some girl scout cookies?" y'all would be proud of me, I only bought ONE box of Thin Mints....... right along with the box of Carmel Delights and the shortbread cookies.... dammit..... how many and what kind of Girl Scout Cookies are ya gonna buy this year???? |
HAHAHA! Leave it to TexasCowboi to start a friggin' thread on COOKIES! LOLOLOLOL
|
YEP! THAT WOULD BE ME! THE THIN MINT MONSTER!!!! I've gotta find My contact from last year so I can buy another case of 'em!!!!
|
Why do I heart this thread?
I orderd Samoas :) I ordered 3 boxes. But I share, that is my story and I am stickin to it! lol |
Im realllllly trying to be good and not get any. Those Samoas are DEADLY.

Samoas = Carmel Delights
and yes, I probably can eat a whole box (of Thin Mints) and burp like it was nothing.... |
I confess...oh, wrong thread! ;)
Ah, the dreaded girl scout cookie!!! My household always orders at least 3 boxes of Thin Mints..wait. That's me..not my household. My wife orders some other kind of not near so good boxes of Girl Scout cookies. I figure we are hunted down by them for all my years selling them - the people who were kind adults then are now sending their grandchildren after me, order forms in hand!! Mmmm...how soon do they get here? *salivating just a tad* |
oh hell.... I totally forgot about SELLING them... (way back when they were 50cents a box) ..... maybe that's why those little Girl Scouts are sneakin' up on Me......
|
A nice little link to let you meet all the cookies
I don't like thin mints I like tagalongs and samoas http://www.girlscoutcookies.org/ |
thats okay... you don't have to like Thin Mints...... I like them enough for the both of us...and probably a few others too....
|
I managed to not buy any last year. It helps not having an office with co-workers who have kids that age. This year, I might have to break down and buy a box of thin mints. Sooo yummy! :)
They freeze really well, too. :innocent: :cookielove: |
omg I looooove Girl Scout cookies. I'm trying my best not to buy cases of them (as I have done in the past). I usually get Thin Mints because I love them frozen, and Carmel Delites because, well...they're just awesome...lol
|
Another Thin Mints kinda gal! I also sold GS cookies when they were .50 a box. I held the parents I babysat for randsom. "Don't buy my cookies and you no longer have a great inexpensive babysitter who does not eat everything in your refrigerator and washes dishes too!"
|
Brit question alert!
Are girl scout cookies a seasonal thing? Why do they sell them?
|
sooo love thin mints as well... they didnt sell thin mints when i was a girl guide selling cookies.. we just had the basic white or chocolate cookies back then.. but now they have all these delicious yums.... i was such a good girl guide, i sold many, many cookies! lol < -- she who hunts for girl guide cookie sellers but can never find any.. (which may be a good thing) |

yes they are seasonal...... they are sold to raise money for the Girl Scouts, and the girls that are in them.... The girls can raise money for going to camp and other things..... |
No girl scouts come around here in these parts of NJ I wonder why because I love me some thin mints and the peanut butter ones with the chocolate um now I am hungry for them..:|

in years long ago I loved the chocolate chips with the pecans in them, a few years ago I loved the lemon coolers For years and years though my favorite has been Samoas and the Thin Mints, and the Do Si Do's.
Since I was a child I don't ever remember a year when GSC's weren't either sold by someone in the family, a neighbor or a coworker until about 3 yrs ago. I guess everyone finally grew up after 40 yrs. LOL The past 25 yrs 2 of my coworkers have had girls in scouts and I bought bundles I mean like I had GSC's in the freezer for most of the year. However I think those pesky little angels are learning a very valuable lesson when they go out to sell. It doesn't matter how many boxes I already have, if a child has the courage to approach me and ask me be it at Walmart, Food Lion or at my door, I at least by a box. I think selling things and going door to door builds character and also teaches them reward and failure. Everyone doesn't say yes yanno |

Now that I think about it...they are more like cops. When I want or need one, I can't find one. But when I'm trying my best to avoid them, they are EVERYWHERE. Buggers. |
Thin mints are my favorites, just bought 4 boxes!
Samoas! yummy, love that coconut, 2 boxes! And the new flavor, white chocolate fudge with cranberries, 2 boxes! umm... no, they aren't for me.... they are for my kids. sigh.... darn it, back to the confession thread.... :p |
I love these after having them in the freezer for awhile. They seem to taste better every year though. I think it's because I miss them when they are gone lol.
|
We call the guy who sells his daughters girl scout cookies at work...The "Cookie Crack Dealer"
His cube is like a drive through window for cookies. I have my freezer stocked with 3 boxes of thin mints. French Vanilla ice cream to cut the sweetness! Hahhahaha :cheer: |
I have Samoa ice cream.
:girleating: |
The Girl Scouts (and Brownies and Daisies,,,the crack dealer trainees!) are evil children of Satan. Of course, this means I love them.
I believe I have OD'd on The Mints that are Thin. My new favorites are the cookie formerly known as Samoas.....and the Shortbread cookies.....<sigh> Yum to the MIE! |
I managed to only buy one box of Thin Mints this year. It helps working in an office with no parents of daughters at GS age.
What name did they change Samoas to? c |

An entire case? :|
your thin mints <-- give me them |

It's the same damn cookie and I *love* them so! I even like the Samoa knockoffs by Keebler HERE. Would it be wrong of me to brag that I have Samoa ice cream in my freezer RIGHT NOW? Quote:
Just sayin'. :eyebat: |
I like thin mints. Definitely my fave.
I was a cookie crack dealer. I made huge amounts of sales for years. I held the record until last year in my council district. Door to door with my red wagon and the teddy bear holding a cookie box. |
I hear there is a Thin Mint candy bar type thing out now!
|
Used to love them but am not a fan of Thin Mints these days...did they change the "chocoate" coating?
My new fav GS cookies are the awesome coconut ones that Diamondrose turned me on to during the St Pat's Parade in Savannah...jonesing for them over here...LOL |
... THIN MINTS :cheesy: ... OMG!! My biggest weakness! I bought 5 boxes earlier this year from a nurse at work, who's daughter quilted a BEAUTIFUL queen size quilt to raise raffle money for Breast Cancer Awareness ... I won that quilt and wanted to support that wonderful young lady as much as possible ... if I'd had enough money, I would have filled my fridge. I can't imagine life without Thin Mints!!! Alas... :( my 5 boxes didn't last very long. :( ..
The only thing better than Thin Mints is a Thin Mint Cheesecake! !! |
