Super Bowl Sunday

Next Sunday Feb 6th 6:30 est on Fox.

So, who will you be rooting for?

Packers? Steelers?

Don't care as long as there is a party?

Think football ranks rights up there with a colonoscopy on the fun scale?

Daktari 01-30-2011 05:38 AM

Despite being a Brit and thinking that American 'Football' is rugby with padding I'll be watching as much of the game as I can stay awake for - coverage won't start until nearly midnight. I'll be rooting for the Packers!

I've only seen one or two games this season sadly. Were both teams the best this year?

Nope but they were the best when it counted most.

Cowboi 01-30-2011 07:37 AM

Steelers nation!!!!

Dakota 01-30-2011 08:55 AM

Steelers all the way!!!!!!!!!!!

Oiler41 01-30-2011 09:19 AM

Green Bay all The Way!

Of course, once my beloved Saints were knocked out, I had to switch my support, but in general, I choose to support the NFC teams over the AFC.

A friend has invited me to a party - not sure yet if I am going to go.

I'm betting on the Steelers.

Linus 01-30-2011 09:58 AM

Personally, I just hope it's entertaining. It have to work on Super Bowl Sunday and have been told by the Conference organizers that I **MUST** finish by 5pm EDT. Of course, they aren't throwing a Super Bowl party for the attendees (silly, IMO, to not do so) but.. so I'll have to find a place in DisneyWorld to enjoy the game.

MsDemeanor 01-30-2011 10:07 AM

Oh, is there a game this year?

UofMfan 01-30-2011 10:16 AM

I just want it to be a good game; I think we are in for one.

Linus, there are many great places to see and enjoy the Super Bowl at Disney.

Andrew, Jr. 01-30-2011 10:20 AM

STEELERS ALL THE WAY!

Wryly 01-30-2011 10:45 AM

Linus - doesn't ESPN have a sports bar at Disney?

Disney may have something at Pleasure Island!?

WolfyOne 01-30-2011 11:05 AM

I'm going to be rooting for the Steelers for my buddy Tommi :)

bigbutchmistie 01-30-2011 12:01 PM

I dont care either way... Personally I dont like either team... BUT would really party hard if the Steelers got their ass kicked :) I always root for the under dog in situations like this..

I live right down the street literally from Cowboys Stadium here in Arlington... Where all the parties and the big game is happening :)

shells_mel7608 01-30-2011 12:18 PM

Packers!!!!!

I work off I-30 in Dallas, and I can already feel the highway backing up!

I'll have to look but it'll likely be packed by the time I'm done teaching.

We're on the other side of Disney World so again, won't be a fun trek there and back.

I think I may just see if the hotel (the Contemporary) has the game there. I'd imagine so.. It's just annoying that the company didn't do a Superbowl Party like they did the year before.

DapperButch 01-30-2011 12:32 PM

Steelers. :footballpass:

Corkey 01-30-2011 01:44 PM

We are having a Super Bowl party, lionpaw are our guests and I am making buffalo pork burgers with swiss and mushrooms, chili's, onion and avocado for the toppings, and Smiths skinless hot dogs. Ami is going to make a saltless Tuscan bread and I'm making a spinach spread with cream cheese.

I have no idea who anyone is rooting for, but it's gonna be fun!

MissItalianDiva 01-30-2011 01:53 PM

Hmm well I am not convinced by any means that this will be an entertaining Super Bowl year but since I DESPISE the Packers so much I am forced to bet on the Steelers....sad sad year in football. I don't care for the Steelers either but what's a girl to do...hmm

Kobi 01-30-2011 02:43 PM

My beloved Patriots arent playing so I really dont have a preference for who wins.

I do, however, wonder what I might have to do to get invited to Corkey and Ami's for the party.....menu sounds mighty tasty!

i am excited about the events surrounding this day!!!

Starbuck 01-30-2011 04:18 PM

I'm not really a fan of either team but I've picked the Steelers to win; especially if they show up to play like they did for their last game.

Corkey 01-30-2011 06:02 PM

WOOT Pro Bowl on now ALOHA! :rainbowAfro:

And we can hardly wait to see you folks!...For Lion, she's watched more football than I have, but it will be the first Super Bowl party for me--Paw...

Mtn 01-30-2011 09:06 PM

There will be a small party, thinking I will make enchiladas and bacon wrapped jalapeno popper kinda things. I will probably root for the Packers, although I am not commited to either team.

Tommi 02-05-2011 08:15 PM

Ok so we have had the worst weather ever... :) I live in Arlington minutes from Cowboy Stadium... Roads, have been covered all week with ice from the worst ice storm. I dont remember a time when Dallas/Fort Worth had this much bad weather...

All I hear is Super Bowl, Super Bowl Super Bowl... As you can imagine since it is in our town... :)

Im ready for it to be over, and for life to get back to normal.

I hope Packers win only cause I cant stand Steelers... Rooting for the under dog as always... :)

I bought a few groceries to stay in while the festivities happen... My road has been blocked off most of the week...

Oh and did I mention MORE snow tomorrow? LOL

An Awareness Rant

I love football, since I first came to his country my father taught me and watched games with me, I fell in love with The Steelers, I love the violence, roughness, testosterone all over the air, hard hits, good food and cheering your team on.

I can't, this week I found out something I never knew, The Superbowl event brings in the worst of things.. It brings in hundreds sometimes even thousands, of underage children that are being raped, tortured, and pimped out..

It's one of the biggest human trafficking events in this country, little girls are being sold off like cattle to be raped, abused and tortured. I ask all of you to please think about boycotting this event, think of our herstory, these children who while we eat and drink are being raped.

I love football, but not enough to ignore the sick things being done during this event.
