Femme Flagging?

What colours would you choose :D

starryeyes 04-09-2012 06:22 PM

Whatever matched my outfit with rhinestones... :D :blueheels:

Smile! Sounds good too... Lol

Morgan 04-09-2012 06:29 PM

Do they make glitter ones? That actually might work....

starryeyes 04-09-2012 06:35 PM

I just got back from IMsL, and they had vendors selling femme pins so femmes could flag while wearing a dress or whatever. They were handkerchiefs in the shape of roses that could easily be pinned wherever you want. I thought it was a brilliant idea, but I am not a fan of pinning stuff on my clothes. Maybe a femme hankerchief bracelet or something for me, Hunter Green with rinestones! Yummy :)

Princess 04-09-2012 06:47 PM

hot pink and sparkly! yes ma'am!

wolfsgirl 04-09-2012 06:53 PM

I like the hanky flower hair clips. I saw them on etsy.

Red and grey for me.

SweetJane 04-09-2012 07:20 PM

Now, ladies, this is a good idea. A femme pin or bracelet or hair comb/clip. We need something sometimes to identify us as who we are in some communities or with some people that we sometimes need to hit upside the head with a 2x4.

I want one!!!!

I do not pin stuff on my clothes either. So, when I flag, I tie the flags around my boots.

On the left ;)

They are on etsy. Am I allowed to post a link to the shop?

Make sure you know what color you are flagging and have fun!! :-D Unless there was a femme flagging movement, and having it in a certain place meant flagging femme? I dunno!

Yeah, I did a double take too. I was thinking I needed to write in "pick me pick me pick me!" LOL

As for flagging as a femme, if it would be so easy to pin something or tie something on, that would be great. But for some of us, I don't think anything tied or pinned on would automatically transform that femme into someone that is not invisible. There are times that it feels, to me anyway, that I could have neon lights pointing to me saying "She is gay, she is femme, and she likes butch women!!" and I STILL would get ignored!

But I do have to say, the little etsy things are cute.

genghisfawn 04-09-2012 10:51 PM

A friend of mine put a post on her Facebook today about femme flagging... Using nail polish. :) Just paint one colour of one nail on either the right or the left (and hold your drink with that hand all night) in the colour of your choice.

Though, I have to say, painting argyle with my left hand onto my right would be an adventure...

aishah 04-09-2012 10:57 PM

i love the crafty ideas, especially the nail polish (although i like all my nails to match...) and the pins and bracelets idea :)

and i approve wholeheartedly of both flagging and flogging ;)

cara 04-09-2012 11:49 PM

That's really creative! More options are always a good in my book. Too bad I don't like to wear nail polish, though. :(

There's a hankie code and flagging colors?

oh yea, there is a very interesting list of colors! *grin*

I personally could wear polish to flag on either hand. I could have a wide variety of different colors to flag, too, but I guess they would primarily be black, blue and red.

hehehe

Lavender and black...lavender for the feminine and black for the edge.

OMG I so know this feeling! I'll wear a rainbow necklace to Pride and in my skirt and heels, and someone will still come up to me and thank me for being there, and ask if I'm there to support my brother or something. UGH! I think I'm going to make a dress that says "I ♥ BUTCH LESBIANS" in giant letters or something LoL

This is a great idea, but we need some glitter or sparkle on one of the colors I think.

girl_dee 05-02-2016 08:23 PM

I thought this said Femme Flogging.

That is all. :|

Ascot 05-02-2016 09:02 PM

I'm finding 'Fondlee' very amusing.

Regarding flagging, maybe we should revive the practice. I've always thought it was a skosh cheesy, but I confess I dig the straightforwardness of the system, too. Like all of my leanings, mine would be on the left. With all my proclivities, I'd look like some kind of exotic bird, lol.

I loved On Our Backs!! We (ex and I) subscribed to it. I miss all the old lesbian magazines! We used to get the Lesbian News, the Lesbian Tide and I can't remember what else. Oh, I subscribed to the Lesbian Connection until just a couple of years ago.

It was always exciting to get a lesbian-related magazine or newsletter in the mail. Pre-historic times: BI.

Before Internet.

Pink quartz crystal

I feel the pink quartz crystal is a beautiful colour for our femme symbol. We could have a special bird feather brooch made of pure pink quartz crystal.
