From the good to the bad to the completely mundane. Tell us about your day
Me my day so far was sleep well a attempt to after working a 16 plus hour shift in the freezing cold you would think I could come home and crash RIGHT?? Oh hell no wide awake at 10 ish with a set of puppy eyes looking at me ... And I do have shift later and hopefully the gym after that

In a word: lousy.

I had 2 teeth pulled and no one to pre-chew my food for me.

Awwww thank you! Actually I was thinking more along the lines of what those Momma birds do. Don't want to draw this out too much but I do kinda miss my Mom a lot at times like this.

cinnamongrrl 01-13-2015 04:29 PM

Long and tiring but Im satisfied with what I accomplished.... :)

...your Mom gave you regurgitated worms? that's different.

My day was slow...I need to get more work soon!

Someone had to make sure the drugs were good!

Have you considered being a "taster"?

MrSunshine 01-13-2015 04:53 PM

I'm a bit nervous about what's going to be offered up next in here ^^

I hear Alicia Silverstone isn't doing anything right now.

cricket26 01-13-2015 07:18 PM

can i just get thru one day at work with out getting "punked"?!

MsTinkerbelly 01-13-2015 07:32 PM

Let's seeeeeee

I cooked breakfast, lunch and dinner.
I did 2 loads of laundry
I shipped an e-bay sale
The dog and i went outside to pee a lot...don't ask

My wife yelled at me, and when i told her what to do with her fine self, she was much quieter this afternoon. We don't usually fight...ok we fuss a bit, but don't fight...i think the stress of buying a new house and moving is getting to her.

All in all no one died, so it was a good day!:seeingstars:

Ps Collette, i miss my Mom too, she would have heated soup and bought me malts!

Bard 01-13-2015 07:50 PM

I have made it through half my shift and so far have not pissed and one off or hurt anyone so that counts in the plus column however I will be needing the gym tonight to work off steam

GeorgiaMa'am 01-13-2015 08:14 PM

I have spent far more time worrying about the things I need to do, than I have spent actually doing the things I need to do. I've been angry at people who don't really deserve my anger, but who are, nonetheless, wrong; and I've decided to just suck it up to keep the peace. I have taken the dog out in the rain, which was damp and uncomfortable, but the dog needs to pee and that's not her fault either. My hair is frizzy. It has been an unproductive, unhappy, miserable day. :(

goodlilfemme 01-13-2015 11:04 PM

my day consisted of getting up and doing absolutely nothing a lil farmville. a walk outside and came back in and did more of nothing so all around good day.

Bard 01-14-2015 12:43 PM

Got home from the Gym ay 315am went to bed and crashed. Got up took out the dogs a few times lol cleaned up the house a bit and just chilling till I have to go to work.. But hey it is my Friday

Gemme 01-14-2015 07:30 PM

My day: wake up, workout, eat, shower, work, eat, American Idol, sleep.

Exciting life I lead!

cricket26 01-14-2015 07:33 PM

long day after waking up at 4:30, going to work, then the grocery store...eating pizza now with my daughter :)

Ginger 01-14-2015 08:04 PM

The alarm on my IPhone went off with its weird tinkly music.

I got up and fed the cat I'm babysitting, an elderly male tabby who slept the whole night pressed against my head.

I did 45 minutes on the exercycle watching local news and BBC news.

Had a delicious long shower.

Took the subway to work.

Made one-minute oatmeal in the microwave as soon as I got to my office.

Made some phone calls, talked to my colleague about articles we're writing.

Went on a long group lunch for someone who's retiring. Whatever possessed me to get fish and chips and chocolate cake???

Had fun at the lunch talking to a co-worker in another department about his experience with a stalker.

Walked back to the office with a bunch of people and took photos of buildings with my IPhone. They didn't come out well. I guess it's too overcast.

Asked the photographer in our office to take pictures of me for the jacket photo for my little chapbook (I just won a manuscript contest).

We went across the street to another building with beautiful several-story-high windows and spiral staircases to have a nicer setting for the photoes.

My gay co-worker went along on the "shoot" and we ended up taking a ton of pictures of him too for his online dating profiles :)

Went back to my office and all three of us looked at the photos. We marveled at how busty I look in some of them, and/or have "crazy eyes." Also, how great my skin looks. My gay co-worker is certain it is the smoothies.

Bundled up and walked back to the train. Took the subway home. Edited on the train.

Sat in bed uploading the new pictures of me to my computer, and picked out the one I want for my book jacket. Also uploaded photos of the reading I hosted on Sunday and put them on Facebook—all the while watching the season premiere episode of Shameless and House of Lies, neither of which was that great.

Got up to make a smoothie for myself: blueberries, pineapple, a splash of kefir, chia seeds, almonds.

Took a phone call from someone I had an affair with last summer and as usual, the language gap made me irritated (I can't understand her accent, I can't help it—believe me, I have tried!!!!!) and I got off pretty fast, but not without making plans to meet for dinner Friday night. We do okay as friends.

And that's my exciting little day.

grenade 01-14-2015 09:01 PM

My day started pretty early. I have issues with sleep. I wake up many times throughout the night. I finally got tired of waking up and just stayed awake. When I walked out the door for work I find freshly fallen snow. I don't care for snow much. Work was stressful. One of my clients died unexpectedly. Luckily, not at our facility. The rest of the week will be rough. Upon picking the kids up from middle school my daughter is found in the midst of a snowball fight with several boys. Her face was a little pinker than normal. I'm guessing one of them is her crush. Dropped the kids off before heading to the pharmacy for melatonin and q tips. I told them to text me if they were being good and I would get them a treat. They never texted. At least they are honest. I still got them treats. Dinner. American Idol. Empire (im already addicted). And here I am posting about my day.

JDeere 01-14-2015 09:22 PM

I didn't do a damn thing except be lazy and watch movies/tv.

So it was a good day.

Bard 01-15-2015 03:43 PM

Was wicked productive today. Got a hair cut went to the mall to try and exchange something that did not go as planned but hey Old Navy then to Walmart and finally to Sams club to renew our membership and I even got myself a new shirt and a tie going to be all sorts of styling. Now home to clean the house and you would think we never vacuum with alll the dog hair around.. A load of laundry and dishes so I do believe I have earned some chill time here on the couch with the pups

CherryWine 01-15-2015 06:05 PM

It hasn't been a bad day at all! For one, the sun finally decided to make an appearance this afternoon. Work went well. Now I am having some wine and killing time while my partner finishes up making parent calls before we go out to dinner.

starryeyes 01-15-2015 06:14 PM

Freakin stressful!!!!

grenade 01-15-2015 06:29 PM

Amazing day. I don't say that often enough. Work was splendid.

Smiling 01-15-2015 06:39 PM

Not my finest moment, but this bottle of wine is helping to assuage my guilt.

And also, this story has brought me some pleasure.

All in all, a brackish mix. Some lives potentially ruined and one saved.

Yesterday, at work, I learned that someone created a job for me to go to when I lose the job ive had for almost a year. I cant ever remember a time when someone or people came together to be so thoughtful and kind toward me. But it made my day and it made me cry.

I love where I work and feel so loved and cared about.

easygoingfemme 01-21-2015 07:11 PM

Really busy with a mid to medium high stress level. Nothing crushing. Really wishing my kid wasn't in a late night theater group that requires me driving around in freezing night temps to get her "sometime between 10-11pm. But mixed in with the busy were conversations with good friends who I love so that always brightens the day!

Bard 01-21-2015 07:57 PM

Took a very awesome hike at Green Lakes state park, the snow was beautiful and the lake was almost all frozen over. Took a trail that I had never taken before and wow was it challenging. I was quite tired and frozen when I got back to my car. Hiked for over two hours and went about 5 miles all told Crushed my steps goal and got some cool pictures as well..

This morning I didn't work out because I have a little head injury and the women in my writing group last night said I might have had a mild concussion and shouldn't do anything strenuous for about a week.

I was putting together an Ikea futon bed and I tried to lift one of the sections that has a lot of slats by one of the slats and it popped off and flew up and hit me in the forehead.

I have a small bump and it broke the skin and is sore and I had bad headaches all day yesterday but today was better.

When it happened I cried, not out of fear but just the shock of the pain. Then I posted on my neighborhood Facebook page basically begging LOL for someone to come help me.

Of course the only people who responded were two lesbians.

One of them came over tonight with her pit bull and helped me put the futon bed together.

My friend M from across the street was horrified I was letting a stranger come over with her dog so she came over too so it was the three of us and of course it was fine.

I made the woman who came over to help, a smoothie and gave her a beer. She was very nice and I really appreciated her help. The three of us sat and talked a while afterwards, admiring our work.

Earlier today at work I wrote a draft of an article about an innovative new math class that blends quantitative literacy with algebra.

I joked around with my co-worker, sending links to articles back and forth to each other. He is a total news whore with a Columbia journalism degree so he moves through the day's news like a shark that stays alive by moving through water.

I really appreciate getting the "best of" all the news every day, the best analysis etc. from him.

And he is SO GAY and we have so much fun.

Now I have to clean up my apartment. I made a mess making that smoothie. I put in strawberries, banana, orange, cocoa, chia seeds, strawberry kefir and a little milk. She LOVED it.

Gemme 01-22-2015 06:16 AM

Yesterday, I woke up, worked out, got myself presentable for work, worked, went to PT, grabbed a bite to eat and went home.
Work consisted of me climbing up and down a ladder and repairing torn insulation, sweeping metal boxes and the long sidewalk in front of the property as well as doing the usual cleaning and office errands.

PT consisted of me doing a variety of stretches, being fussed at because I missed an appointment (I totally forgot because it was inhumanely early and we added it on at the last minute.), given a new exercise that I won't be able to replicate at home until I find a half noodle, mild circuit training and squats. Damn those squats!

FemmeBibliophile 01-22-2015 08:28 AM

My day started at 250am with one of the resident ghosts popping up to say hello... The rest of the night was restless needless to say. The coffee has made things a little bit better. Doctors appointment for the oldest... then he heads to school. Later this afternoon it's a drive for me as a friend is dying and I am saying my final goodbyes :(

Gemme 01-22-2015 07:30 PM

Today was great! It snowed last night but not bad. I shoveled the necessary access points for customers and then I hopped on the golf cart and had myself a good time, drawing circles in the snow and making figure 8s and other designs. It was for work too; to break up the snow so the sun could melt it faster.

:cheesy:

Ginger 01-22-2015 10:34 PM

Today was cold. I'm walking fast, everywhere I go. Work was kind of ordinary. I edited one of C's article and we brainstormed a lot with each other about angles for things we're writing. I did a bunch of correspondence, setting up interviews and doing follow up. Just a quiet day. A little boring but in a kind of pleasant way. At lunch I went to Bed, Bath and Beyond with another friend at work. I got a red mug on sale and looked at electric kettles (but they're too expensive there!). After work I went uptown for a reading. My friend S read in a gallery, it was kind of new scene for me, the "salon" crowd—you have to RSVP because it's kind of small. The art was okay, not really my thing, a little too sterile and digital. But the readers were awesome! Saeed Jones, the editor of BuzzFeed LGBT, was one of the readers with my friend. They had a Q&A after each person. I finally got up the nerve to ask a question and asked one of the readers, If you could put poetry anywhere where it doesn't already have a presence, whether in media or a physical place, where would you put it? He said he would put it in everyone's conversations, the tough ones. Then when the whole things was over, I kind of ran out and marched a few blocks to the train. My cell phone died so I couldn't play games; fortunately I have a crossword puzzle in my bag. Then when I got off the train for my stop, I ran into a Starbucks to quickly change my high-heeled ankle boots for running shoes, and jogged the rest of the way home. It felt so good to get out of my clothes and brush my teeth and wash my face. I'm corresponding with a couple people, three actually, that I met online and I sent off a couple notes while watching a new episode of Looking from the corner of my eye. I'm glad tomorrow is Friday.

Gaige 01-23-2015 04:47 AM

My day was good… one of the better days this week. Work was manageable which kept me from having to stay late. It was also the halfway point of my 7 day week.

Gemme 01-23-2015 09:00 PM

It started out great. I was in a fantastic mood and then, as the day went on, I wore down. Tomorrow will be better.

Kätzchen 01-28-2015 02:47 AM

Today I was inundated at work with all kinds of complicated incidents, but kept myself on task by keeping up with a litany of demanding protocols.

I found myself simply savoring each person who dropped by my desk tonight.
Beautiful people, expressing support in ways that i will never forget. Ever.
I had such an awesome day.

:stillheart:

Gemme 01-28-2015 06:13 AM

Yesterday was the tail end of the blizzard so there was a lot of snow and wind and shoveling in my day. Today will begin the long and tedious clean up of Juno's mess. I'd rather stay home and drink Emergen-C and hot chocolate and watch movies but someone's got to get the ball rolling.

Bard 01-28-2015 11:27 AM

Yesterday was a very long day of in-service training not that I mind it I know we have to do it every year :| BUT when I work until 2 am then have to back in at 730 and have to park in my assigned parking lot that is a mile and a half away from the office I get cranky.. Of course I could not sleep when I had gotten home the night before and I had wicked nightmares so ended up with about a hour and a half of sleep.. Then the walk to the office in the butter cold fun time makes for a grumpy Bard I tell you

PatrickIver 01-29-2015 08:37 AM

Yesterday was well, a day. The meeting went abso fab so we shall see what comes of that. I have also realized that my sis and I are starting to do these daily "check in" phone calls, which I really look forward to now. I like to hear her excited and happy, she had a rough 2014. There was only one bump in my day, but it will smooth out. The day ended as it began though, with a smile, and that is the BEST !! :) Here is to today.
