Coffee and Tea...
In my travels around the Planet, I have not yet seen a thread about the love of coffee and/or tea. And yet I KNOW there are many devotees here!
I'd like to get an idea of what people like since there is a vast variety available. I'm really looking forward to hearing what people are drinking for their morning brew. :) :tea: |

This is my new favorite coffee. It is so smooth and delicious I can drink it black and I dislike black coffee..:-) I highly recommend it!

I'm always looking for new and wonderful coffee and I shop at Trader Joe's regularly! I WILL try that coffee!
I am getting a tutorial on how to make French press coffee this weekend by good friend who is a coffee wizard.... I told her today she always looks super sexay when she's making coffee... :sunglass: and she does! I'm wondering about preferences in brewing methods..to me French press is THE best...I've also enjoyed brewed coffee with a sprinkle of nutmeg or (spoiler alert!) cinnamon mixed in with the grounds... For tea lovers... check out www.teabox.com They have a handy dandy free sampler for which you only pay shipping. IF I needed more tea I would do this but...I have a tea addiction problem. I truly bought some tea at TJ's cuz I liked the box. I hate the tea. But...I have the box :) |
OOPS!
You need a promo code TEA 10 to get the free samples.... Their website is veryyy dangerous for a girl like me... |
A glass full of ice with tea in it. In the south it's a given that it's sweet tea. You have to ask for unsweet
|
I love a good cup of coffee and only use a french press to make mine. I have a stainless steel press for camping/traveling purposes, and a larger glass and stainless one for home use.
As for coffee itself, I prefer a fuller bodied coffee such as a good Sumatran. At present, I am hooked on this Greek coffee. http://www.intlgourmet.com/shop/grap...eloscoffee.jpg |

As far as iced tea is concerned...I finally got me one of those gallon thingies with the spout. I like to make sun tea since it doesn't have that boiled taste. You know that taste?? Someone once told me adding baking soda takes away that "tinny" taste. But with sun tea you avoid all that. 11 regular sized tea bags/gallon of water and I use a scant 1/4c of sugar. More can be added but you can't take it away! |
I have French market full body dark roast with chickery (fnsp) it is strong enough to remove paint but it sure gets me going in the morning.
|
I live in an area with a large Greek population so this coffee is available at most of the grocery stores, but it can also be bought online. It is a fine grind, so it does not do well in the press. I use a small pot.
For iced tea, I use a cold brew process, which simply involves placing the tea bags in a pitcher of filtered water and allow it to sit at room temp for a couple of hours, then remove the tea bags and refrigerate. I like this method because the tea does not become cloudy or bitter. I sweeten it with a small amount of raw cane sugar or sometimes honey. |
I use a french press, and i also add cinnamon, vanilla or nutmeg to the grounds. I have an electric tea kettle which i use for the water, as the press works best if the water is boiling. 1/2 and 1/2 is all i add to mine.
I can use very inexpensive coffee (Don Franciscan hawaiian blend) with the press, and it tastes like gourmet. I drink sun tea that is NEVER sweet, and hot tea with sweetener and cream. |

Turkish press coffee makers require a finer coffee ground...may be worth the investment. Plus, I find them very pretty. |
Coffee is blech, blech, blech.
And it's a liar! It smells soooo good but when you drink it, it's horrible and bitter. No thanks. Sweet tea for me. Even my hot tea is sweet because of all the milk and sugar I put into it. |

I'm on my way out to breakfast...and am going to partake in some of my favorite local coffee! www.dynamiteroasting.com/ |
I don't care for hot coffee.
But I do like cold brew-- we normally purchase our coffee from the local co-op, something that is fair trade and organic. Did you know that you can taste more of the hints of "flavours" when cold brewing and it's less acidic and more pH balanced? Pretty neat. It's also more concentrated, so add a little water or cream to it. I like mine with cardamon, cinnamon, and honey sweetened full fat coconut milk. I love tea. Herbal is my favourite-- but I don't mind caffeinated teas. I enjoy a Earl Grey with coconut milk or homemade almond milk, light. If I drink plain black tea, cold, I enjoy it with a lot of lemon. Good thread. |

They get a special secret blend from the Sante Fe Coffee Company. |

What makes it divine? Besides being a more "local" coffee. And are you from NM too? :tea: |
I had my morning coffee made by a very cute butch....who just happened to be working at Dunkins..
*note to self: get to Dunkins more often... :) |
One thing I find interesting is that while I can still get my favorite coffee from San Francisco even though I live 700 miles away now, it's $4 per pound cheaper here.
The other thing is that on practically every corner here there is a "Dutch Brothers" coffee joint. I'd never heard of them but there is always a line up for it. I saw a 'menu' and it seems to be the usually sugary drinks kind of thing which isn't my thing so I've never been. There are some local roasters I've looked up, so I'll give them a try now that the colder weather is on the horizon. :coffee: |
I gave been drinking Starbucks coffee for nearly 20 years. Here are my favorite blends:
1. French Roast-caramely and smokey flavor ❤️❤️ 2. Guatemala Antigua-my favorite for the fall. Has layers of chocolate and spice flavors. 3. Christmas Espresso Blend 4. Anniversary Blend When I get a chance to visit a reserve store with a Clover Machine: 1. Brazil Bourbon Blend 2. Colombia and 3. Ethiopia I am still learning about the Reserve Coffees. Zimmeh |
My favorite every-day coffee is Peets French Roast. I order a couple of one pound bags each month and have it delivered so I never run out.
I make it in a drip coffee maker or a French press. My absolute favorite, which I treat myself- maybe once per year- is Peets Kona coffee. It is real, genuine Kona coffee (with a price to match, hence the once a year). Love it. Coffee ready right now! :tea: <<< pretend it is a coffee pot! |
columbian mountain grown coffee yum
really good coffee made with boiling water in my brewer, I like it really hot. Cold iced tea yum, brewed and sugar and tons of lemon in it. The best.
|
Salt oh yes
I always shake a little salt in my coffee before brewing, takes any bitterness out of any coffee you brew.
|
Coffee is Coffee
If I have to go to the dollar store and buy the instant jar stuff (btw, done it) i'll do it!..just give me the caffeinated coffee!!..black,no sugar,no cream :bringcoffee:
I hardly drink tea, only if I run out of coffee i'll drink a cup :overreaction: |
I love a cup of organic English Breakfast tea to start the day. =)
|
I used to like having coffee every morning, but I've been scaling back on coffee. I might have a cup of coffee twice a week or less and when I have coffee, I make it using a Swedish ceramic coffee cone.
I prefer herbal tea. Lately, I've been enjoying a blend of herbal tea which consists of an organic mixture of camomile, rose petals and buds of dried English lavender. It's soothing and delicious. I like using honey to sweeten a cup of tea. |

Today is a good day for chai....feeling fallie, want some spice and everything nice... |
When I am out and about I drink iced coffee from Starbucks. Usually an Iced Toasted Graham Latte or Iced Vanilla Latte.
When christmas come they have a Chestnut Praline that is delish. Their christmas blend is also amazing. OR vietnamese iced. At home, I prefer 8'Oclock coffee or Seattle's Best #4. |
The best coffee I've ever had was at a casino in Las Vegas, oddly enough. I tried my best to get them to sell me a pound, but they wouldn't do it.
I normally drink Yuban regular or Yuban Pacific Roast. I also like Don Francisco's or Cafe Bustelo's espresso. I enjoy hot tea when it gets cooler, found a great bulk loose tea website: http://www.herbco.com/ |
I drink organic low-acid coffee. No more than 1 cup a day maxiumum (and many days I don't even drink it).
I have many herbal teas, but my favorite is in cold weather, I enjoy chai tea with almond miik & stevia. It's about as yummy as chocolate! Deborah |
Coffee and Tea...
I don't drink coffee often but when I do I add a little bit of salt to my coffee grinds before brewing. I also add almond milk and sugar to sweeten.
I have several different herbal teas that I enjoy but as of late lemon has been a favourite. |

I like coffee french pressed and have two but am wanting to start drinking tea again. I like my coffee with cream and tea with nothing, and I like both hot and cold coffee and tea. Growing up my dad would sometimes make breakfast on the weekend. He would always include coffee and boil the coffee grounds in a pot. He'd let me have some and he'd serve it to me black with sugar. He said this was the way hobos made and drank coffee (for awhile he was a train-riding hobo tryna make his way up north). I used to love that coffee. That's only time I'd have sugar in it. |
