🎄 Spread Some Christmas Cheer

Lets spread some cheer, starting ....NOW....

What have you seen already? What have you bought? What have you done? What have you heard? What will you do? What is your favorites?

Tell us daily, tell us often! Christmas will be here soon, share with us! Let's make it a season to bring all of us together 🎄🎄

While I was out I saw reindeer onesies for adults! Not for me, but definitely cute!

Bèsame* 11-09-2017 10:06 PM

I heard Christmas music today!

And I read that one of our "now famous" race car driver has a tree up!

I may or may not have bought gifts...lol

homoe 11-09-2017 10:10 PM

There is a car commercial that lights up to a Christmas song already airing!

homoe 11-09-2017 10:13 PM

I have already purchased several gifts.............:present::present::present:

This always gets me in the spirit of the season!

Oh man, so for starters, our tree is up already, yep, judge away! I will let bright_arrow talk about some of that, but my favorite part is the Christmas Village I have setup!

One of my favorite Christmas memories is of my grandfather and his Christmas Village. So I went and found a set I like (this one is Lemax brand) and started buying up the pieces that I wanted, and put together a village with people and animals and trees, etc. Its amazing, and I love it. Next up for my Christmas village collection will be the Hogwarts set that they are coming out with next year!

Anyone else do Christmas Villages? Would like to see them!

Our tree was up and decorated November 1. We don't mess around. We (Especially me!) love love love Christmas lights. They're one of my top 5 happy places :)

I have many memories as a child and even as a teenager sleeping on the couch (even though we weren't supposed to sleep on the couch) so I could fall asleep staring at the lights. Something comforting about the soft glow that makes my heart sing. Sometimes I get up early before work and spend five minutes cuddling the dog on the couch so I can look at the lights. It's the little things..

We went to Christmas In the Park last year and saw a lot of decorated trees and then walked the small shopping plaza. It was nice and something I'd like to do again this year.

It still weirds me out to have no snow, but they put up snowflake lights on the lightposts in San Francisco so I get to see those when I leave work at night.

I may have asked the boy to buy me an advent calendar because who doesn't like to countdown with chocolate?

Oh man,I love this season.Lots of happy memories as a kid during these days.I kinda keep Christmas especially fun.I have our lights stringed up in the living room facing the street. The outside lights are also up and ready for after thanksgiving. We usually spend it with family because for us, it's fun watching the young kids opening up presents. Some people are in a very good mood around this time, which is great energy to suck up.I love Xmas trees, but I don't believe we'll have a big one this year, may be a small Charlie Brown, with little figurines and tiny bulbs and cards with small presents to give each other before we head out Christmas morning to the in-laws.It should be fun. :smileyXmasTree:

i saw a Christmas commercial on halloween night!

I have purchased one gift-- a discontinued pandora charm for my mom, in the shape of La Sagrada Familia cathedral, which we visited in June

I have purchased a tea dress in a santa print which i will wear to hear Trans-Siberian Orchestra, which tickets we have also purchased.

LET'S DO THIS

I love the old-fashioned snowball lights and lighted ice lights. You have to have the old type of electrical cord to plug them in, and they do get hot, but they are so beautiful on the tree. My dad loved them too. I remember going to Chichesters Pharmacy with him when I was about 12 years old, and he bought up their entire remaining supply, since they weren't being made any more. Between those, and some that I found for him on eBay, he had those lights every Christmas until he passed away. I'm inheriting them this year - they may not go on the tree this year, since it is the first Christmas without my dad and it might be too sad, but then again they might.

I've kept my tree up all year for the past 3 years. I use the lights as a night light of sort and will sometimes watch TV in the dark with only the tree on for light. I agree; there's something beautiful and magical about holiday lights.

I love this .............

So for the past 3 years you've bypassed the hauling down, unpacking then packing back up and returning to the attic, basement, garage etc etc (wherever one stores their decorations) Avoided endless fights with tangled up strings of lights (which one may or may not always win) then thwarted the process of hanging said sets of lights on tree, and then been able to side step the dilemma of what ornament looks best where! Lucky you.......:hangloose:

homoe 11-12-2017 08:14 AM

I have several rolls of wrapping paper laying about and am slowly moving towards wrapping one or two gifts that I need to mail out early ..............

Indeed, I have. The tradeoff is that I have a 6 foot tree in my house all of the time, taking up space and enticing the kitteh into mischief. I will take it down in 2018 because We need more room and I'm tired of squirting the lil guy every time he gets hypnotized by the lights or shiny ornaments. Luckily, the tree is pre-lit, so I only have to check for any burnt bulbs before putting it away. The ornaments and garland aren't too bad so that's not a problem.

mission accomplished.......

now I have Christmas music playing in the background:smileyXmasTree:

homoe 11-12-2017 04:51 PM

Now I'm contemplating hauling down the decorations from the closet!

homoe 11-13-2017 11:19 AM

:stocking:

Today I'm on a mission to think up and then find unique stocking stuffers

:stocking:

Yes I realize it's a bit early but the closer to Christmas, the less appealing going out to shop is.

Bèsame* 11-13-2017 10:58 PM

I finished decorating at work this afternoon.

I have a feeling, it's going to be my last time.

Why do you think it is the last time?? What is the theme this year?

Teddybear 11-14-2017 06:11 AM

As much as I love Christmas and I do after losing my Dad last year on Christmas day I just haven't gotten into it so far. I don't know if I even want a tree.

I know the oldest of my 2 brothers and I are going to meet at Mommas to clean it out, paint and get it ready to put on the market.

I have listened to some Christmas music however I haven't found my spirit yet.

HELP!!!!

cinnamongrrl 11-14-2017 07:19 AM

Speaking of Christmas....

Are we doing a card exchange this year? I need to shop for cards if so.....

:)

Found these today...quite tasty!

Bèsame* 11-19-2017 06:50 PM

I love opening my Christmas decorations! I always find something I forgot I had. I have a bowl full of these little glass candies. Oh, and a couple of different ones I have hung on the tree. I love these, I found an entire mason jar of them at an antique store.

Bèsame* 11-19-2017 06:57 PM

I picked up this small pink tree a few years ago, for a super cheap price after Christmas. Something like seven bucks!

I'm going to decorate it this year. It's sitting at the end , or rather the curve of the breakfast bar. Looking at this pic, I've got ideas!

I have discovered mercury glass ornaments. I love the antique-ness of them! I have a couple of these aqua ones on my tree this year.

I have now purchased thirty-eight gifts-- because i bought a new "reading is fun" tshirt for every library worker

Six more to go and i'll be done with staff-- my three direct reports will get something more besides the t-shirt, and there are three staff who never want our t-shirts (of which we buy 2-3 per year)

The three staff who never want t-shirts are getting gift bags of hurricane survival items: crank flashlights, waterproof matches, and water purification tablets-- because a some of us are still homeless from Harvey and I think we all made ourselves a lot of promises about being prepared for the next one that we have not gotten around to keeping
