I would much rather spend an afternoon fishing or tossing a football/softball around than clothes shopping or going to the nail salon. Come to think of it, I’d really rather be doing anything other than that. :thinking:

Cute idea for a thread Mops!! xoxoxo I actually do to the salon to have my nails done, my arthritis is too bad to do them myself and i'm not very good at it. I do not really enjoy it, but I like the result.

I am a femme wargamer, Stellaris being my current game of choice - and if you don't play nicely with my Space Kitties, they will claim your territory as their own, wee in your empires litterbox, steal your string and shred your empire 'cause their battleships are full of Sharp, and Lasers, and stuffs. So don't be nasty to my Space Kitties!

I am a Dominant Femme Top, I curse, I'm physically strong. I also unapologetically take up space and will shoulder check anyone who takes up to much sidewalk.

I am Femme and I wear men's shoes mostly. Even with dresses.

I am a femme but...

I prefer flats or a low chunky heel.
I know my way around a tool box pretty well.
I would rather spend a day out riding my bike and coming home dirty and sweaty than get a mani/pedi.
I will actually NEVER get a pedi because I can't stand having my feet touched.

I am Femme, with or without the customary notions one might think is femme. And... :)

- I too, know my way around a tool box.

- Once upon a time ago, I rode my bike until I was good and sweaty, yet riding my bicycle was the sweetest mindful activity I loved the most.

- I can fix my car, if I have to, but I'd rather take it to the garage and have them fix it, since I exactly can't 'bench press buicks' anymore. :eyebat:

- I absolutely like having a regular manicure (I do my own pedicures), because it feels good to have my arms and hands massaged. I can't do that on myself anymore, so it feels good to have it done for me.

- I buy the best I can in hair and body care products because when my hair looks pretty and my skin feels lovely, then I feel very girly and Femme.

-I am not the best cook in the world, but I can prepare a satisfying meal.

- I appreciate the logic of Math and Philosophy. I adore Sociology.

- Arts and Crafts provides me with a place to express my mind and to find creative license that is unique to my own ability to create creations. It is a healing activity that brings joy to my life.

I am a femme, however sometimes I wear a baseball cap and look a bit sporty dyke because of my short hair.

Oh, I'm a femme, however I have very short hair.

I am a femme, but my nails do get grimy when I work on the motorcycles I ride. And I do love to ride. I ride in NYC traffic, and on the highway, and at the racetrack. That's where I aggressively pass as many other riders as I can. Need I say that most of the other track day riders are men? Which means that most of the riders I pass are men. Woohoo!

I use power tools all day in my work as a sculptor. I formerly made a living as a carpenter/stagehand, so I most certainly do know my way around a tool box.

I do love my high heels, but I don't like to shop. If I have to shop I lean towards yard sales and thrift shops. Recycled clothes are my thing.

I am femme and love baseball! you can find me hunkered down watching the cubs all season.

Also, I love doing my hair and makeup and all that jazz but can't use a curling iron to save my darn life.

Because I am Femme, I'm my own biggest cheerleader.

I am self reliant and resilient.

Just this past week, at work, my desk chair went right out from under me.... throwing me onto the floor, bruising my lumbar section and gave me a lump on the back of my head. I could of just laid there, stunned. But I didn't. I willed myself to get back up, except it took two other people to haul me up to an upright position. Let's just say the floor is never going to be my friend.

Anyhoo… The first thing I tell myself, is "Fall of Horse, Get Back Up", and that's saved me so many times because my PTSD is triggered by things I experienced in my work related accident, back in November of 2016.

I'm my own brand of Femme Unicorn. :blush:

I am a femme, however I am no damsel in distress. I can be vulnerable with my special love but I do not need to be saved.

I am femme, and love looking pretty, but I've never gone the whole hog with makeup (foundation & lippy usually, and mebbe blusher and eyeshadow as well on special occasions sufficies for me) and never worn false eyelashes.

I can play damsel in distress (for giggles), but I don't DO damsel in distress, though I do appreciate help when offered.

I'm not terribly competent at things like DIY etc, but I'm willing to have a go if need be, and can generally come up with something usable even if it'd be for the best if I got it replaced by something done properly as soon as I can. :-}

I LOVE pedicures, having my hair done, etc - wish I could afford 'em nowadays, sigh - but am also one who will shoulder-check ill-mannered irritating young oiks that think they own the pavement and that Granny will automatically move out of their way for them. I love their surprised reaction! (thanks, roller-derby training! eheheh)

Oh, and yeah - I am femme, but I've had a go at trying to get through roller-derby minimum skills training. Didn't manage to get terribly far (age and whatnot being against me), but wow was that fun! Don't let anybody tell you that femmes don't do roller-derby, LOTS of them do!

I am Femme, however, I love building things; I wear my favorite baseball hat when I hate messing with my hair; I never paint my nails; after retiring from work I no longer wear makeup; I love owning and driving my big truck; I love going fishing; and, I used to be a certified heavy machine operator.

I am Femme, however, I only have 2 pairs of shoes (flat sandals I wear almost all the time, and Sketchers Memory Foam slip-on tennis shoes)...
I own and frequently use a bunch of tools. (I grew up with several very mechanically inclined people...it feels natural to me to know about and use tools of all kinds, from a tiny wrench to a destructive sawsall)
I am Femme and I love to wear soft, long flowing skirts or dresses, however, since retiring, I wear mostly Tshirts and jeans.

If I wear makeup (big IF) it’s eyeliner and blush, which I typically rub off before I reach my destination, yet I find mani/pedis glorious!
I choose Chaco’s or tennis shoes to heels any day (even in my younger years with healthy knees, I’d still say it was 50/50)

I would rather sleep in the back of my truck (cuddled up with a bunch of soft blankets and my old furbaby) at my favorite mountain camp, under the stars than lodge at any fancy hotel.

I am Femme, however, today I went to an estate auction just to look at the antique cars and farm junk and buy some antique metal milk crates to make benches from. I loved finding and taking pictures of the old rusted cars with trees growing up through them. I had fun hiking around the property to see what this person had collected (hoarded) his entire life. I was amazed at the antique school busses filled with antique lumber. I got dirty, hot and sweaty and loved seeing some of the "history" in the old farm equipment and other junk.

I don't like the hierarchy. I ID as Femme. Regular Femme. None of us are high or low.

I mostly do not enjoy housework either. I think some people think of Femmes and 1950's (or before) and Femmes are the women and Butches are the men. I do not buy into this, but even if I did....modern men help with chores. Women work now and own businesses.

I am so glad you have a professional doing the heavy housework!

Slightly off topic, I'm really wondering....what's a space kitty?

I looked on Google and it seems like its a beer or kitty toys or cute kitties in astronaut outfits. Did seem super Femme tho. :)

Uh, if that was in relation to my posting about playing Stellaris, which is a real-time game of galactic conquest, then what you're missing is that the game allows you to customise a range of generic alien types, one of which is felinoid. I happen to adore cats, and I have a whimsical nature. So rather than talking about my mighty felinoid huntresses of the stars, I am far more likely to talk about my game empire in LOLcat-like terms, hence if the naughty aliens are mean to my space-kitties, my space-kitties will claw their furniture (attack their outpost stations)!, 'cause they is full of sharp! (they have fleets of effective ships and I well know how to use them to best effect).
