First concert: radio station sponsored rap concert in a giant field with speakers larger than I was....I couldn't hear properly for 2 days afterwards.

Music you grew up listening to: Disco cr*p. Sucked to be a child of the 70's and trapped in the parental car and no ipod invented yet to tune out their music. If you have never been forced to listen to "Disco Duck" then you have lived a blessed life.

Favorite Artist/Band: Ah, so many. Current favs. are Chris Botti, Yo Yo Ma, Indigo Girls, Rascal Flatts, Lo Cash and Darius Rucker.

Lots of live music at church, Pentecostal church with a odd mix of instruments and a solid blue grass sound.
Classical music, romantic music, I played the violin since I was 6 and loved the music so very much, I loved the complexity, especially baroque.

First concert: Ray Charles at the Graystone Ballroom in Detroit when I was a “small fry,” as my mother would call me. My uncle was a music promoter and my mama would occasionally count money for her younger brother. I remember my dad carrying me in his arms backstage waiting for mama to finish while Ray was performing.
