Wake up with a song...
Do you ever have those days where you wake up and a song is in your head from the start? Or by the time you get to the shower you're humming a tune?
I do. Sometimes it's something I heard the day before. Sometimes it's out of the blue. Sometimes it's an odd combination of songs left over from a dream. Sometimes, it's just a snippet of a lyric. What did you wake up with this morning? |
Audio Coffee
This morning...
Gretchen Wilson ~ Work Hard, Play Harder Although, I'm not especially looking forward to the office this morning. *yawn* I'll try not to sing for my coworkers. Not everyone has the protection of headphones. :dozey: |
"Walking on Sunshine" by Katrina and the Waves, but covered by everyone from Aly & AJ to Jennifer Lopez. It was, however, Nikki Clearly's version that I woke up with today.
No matter which version it is, I am sure to bounce around happily for quite a while now. I challenge anyone to hear this song and not get happy. :cheesy: |

Cascada's "Pyromania" and it's not on Rhapsody yet, so I can't put it on my MP3. That sucks. Now it will keep swirling about until I can download it.

Lady GaGa - I Like it Rough

Country Road by Paula Fuga with Jack Johnson
Paula Fuga wrote this song. The most popular version is from a live show she did with Jack Johnson. It's a beautiful song and I love her voice.

At this point, it's actually an Earworm....
[Allure] All alone on a Sunday morning Outside I see the rain is falling, whoa Inside I'm slowly dying But the rain will hide my crying, crying, crying And you... Don't you know my tears will burn the pillow Set this place on fire 'Cause I'm tired of your lies All I needed was a simple "Hello" But the traffic was so noisy that you could not hear me cry (I)I gave you my love in vain My body never knew such pleasure My heart never knew such pain (And you) You leave me so confused Now I'm all cried out, over you [112] ooohh Cryin' over you, yeah Never wanted to see things your way Had to go astray Oh why was I such a fool (Why was I such a fool?) Now I see that the grass aint greener Is it too late for me to find my way home How could I be so wrong? [Allure](( Happens during last 2 verses of 112's part)) Leaving me all alone Don't you know my tears will cause an inferno Romance often fades Why should I take the blame? You were the one who left me neglected (So sorry baby) Apology not accepted Add me to the broken hearts you've collected I gave you all of me (Gave you all of me) How was I to know You would weaken so easily I don't know what to do (I don't know what to do) Now I'm all cried out (All cried out) Over you I gave you my love in vain My body never knew such pleasure My heart never knew such pain And you [112] You left me so confused [Allure & 112] Now I'm all cried out( all cried out) Now I'm all cried out( all cried out) Over you [112] so sorry baby, please forgive me please forgive me |

Ugh.. The Latin part is just ...STUCK in my head.... :mohawk: |
This started out the morning, and I didn't know who sang it or the title...had to do some detective work. So, it was stuck in my head quite randomly. I'm not sure how it got there...

Redbone
feeling rather ego maniacal ... and being a freakass helps ... this is what i would have woken up to in my 'mentally eclectic brain' had i slept!
fact: jimi hendrix talked the members of Redbone into forming a band... incidentally the very first Native American and full ethnically mixed band in America [to hit the billboard charts]... and inducted into the Native American Music Association Hall of Fame 2 years ago... and i know this... cause well... i am a nerd! and that is what turns on my E! Mafia guys in suits with dark glasses were chasing us in a speedboat down the canal. Queen Latifah was driving the monster truck to get away, and this was on the radio...

oh gawd, shoot me now.........
Just sit right back And you'll hear a tale A tale of a fateful trip, That started from this tropic port, Aboard this tiny ship. The mate was a mighty sailin' man, The Skipper brave and sure, Five passengers set sail that day, For a three hour tour, A three hour tour. The weather started getting rough, The tiny ship was tossed. If not for the courage of the fearless crew The Minnow would be lost. The Minnow would be lost. The ship set ground on the shore Of this uncharted desert isle With Gilligan, The Skipper too. The millionaire And his wife, The movie star, The professor and Mary Ann, Here on Gilligan's Isle. |
