Went to the farmers market today and got inspired....

I fixed:
-Homemade Salsa and Queso-
-Chicken in sauteed onions, mushrooms, fresh garlic, jalapenos, and cilantro, laid on top of white rice-
-(For me the same but with Tilapia)
-Rolls-
-Sun Tea-

Well, I figured it out. It was ugly (literally...Gordon Ramsay would have been disgusted), but it was good.

It was a raid the fridge kind of meal: pulled roasted skinless chicken breast, brown rice, onion, orange pepper, mini red peppers, jalopenos, and a few TBS of light buttermilk ranch dressing all stirred up together and cooked in the skillet.

Organic got red beans with Mexican blend shredded cheese and chopped onion on top and I got pickled beets. Mmmmmm.....:tease:.....beeeeets.

I didn't cook tonight, but someone here did

I had homemade tacos in hard shell tortillas with refried beans that had queso on top of them

Sahadi's fresh babaganoush, tiny pitas warm from the oven, cherry tomatoes, strips of yellow peppers, peapods, glass of Chardonnay, and two homemade feuilles de palmier (French pastries), small espresso with strip of lemon peel.

I just got home - knew it would be late so I stopped at Burger King and got a bag of burgers. I am on my second Whopper Jr. right now ... with a glass of tea. I love Whooper Jr.'s and have been known to eat them for breakfast.

Well, it's "clean out the fridge" again night at our house :) On the leftovers menu...

chili with rice or use it to make a frito pie

roast, rice & gravy

If that doesn't sound good, it might be a frozen pizza or Captain Crunch cereal & toast :winky:

femmennoir 11-10-2010 05:08 PM

Toasted Balthazar multi-grain, garlic mustard (from Trader Joe's), thinly sliced duck prosciutto from the farmer's market (heavenly!), creamy Gorgonzola, pistacchios, thinly sliced Empire apple, glass of Chardonnay, homemade chocolate biscotti for dessert, very sweet Turkish coffee brewed with cardamom. I am happyyyyyy!

Mushroom heaven

Hungarian Mushroom Soup - loosely following this recipe. I used mushrooms from the Asian market, including Oyster, Portobello, and Enokis (delish). Serious mushroom heaven. Was making for my boy but he had to work late so is a no-show.

And broiled Korean purple sweet potatoes - healthy and filling.

Lainie 11-10-2010 06:47 PM

Tonight, it's cube steaks smothered in mushroom gravy, mashed potatoes, and sauteed mixed veggies.
