LOL!

yes, `twas very beautiful! I Love the color of the tutu: I feel prettiest when I am wearing shades of blue!

I like wearing a tutu at the Do It Yourself Nutcracker in SF, even tho' I look like a badly done drag queen.
what thread is this? omg! sorry ... LOL

Eleanor Parker

I loved her as Baroness Schrader - it's neat to see her other looks too.

I like the 2nd B&W photo of her in the sweetheart neckline/long sleeved dress!

Love that style! I think that style would look stunning on me!

I bet it would - what color would you choose and what would the rest of the dress look like?

Nat 06-02-2010 06:35 PM

on the blue tutu :)

Thanks Isadora and ALovelyKiss - it seemed to say what I wanted about this thread - just a happy blue etsy tu-tu. I don't know if my tutu wearing days are over, but if I get a chance one day, I'll totally rock one anyway. :) Maybe to pride, but not this year. :)

Oh that sounds very fun. :)

Now you must post a pic of yourself wearing a tutu at said event as payment for derailery! ;)

Midnight Blue, a waistline, oodles of sprawling fabric below the waist!

Maybe some silvery sparkly-threads in the fabric, as well.

I totally love that dress in the photo and would want the dress to basically be of the same design! I love the sweetheart neckline the most!

The skirt part yes - maybe even more fabric; the top/bodice part - in the top left of the pattern depicted -yes...

If I find a photo too, I will post it; but I'm not too great a conducting online searches, *lol* I mostly come upon them by accident...

waxnrope 06-02-2010 07:09 PM

I don't know, Nat. If I were dancing or otherwise close to the woman in the first pic, I would either get me sneezing or tickling me into giggles. Just saying ...

I love this dress! Lots of billowing fabric, two-tone (or does one call it 'sharkskin'?) shades of purple (purplish blues, etc); love the neckline - would alter the sleeves to be 3/4 or so.

A very pretty dress, Nat!

Hmm maybe it would be fun to wear a dress that tickled oneself or others into giggles. :)

Can we twist said partner's arm? :D

Jackie Kennedy's wedding dress may have some similarities, but it's missing sleeves.

How long would you want the skirt?

I'm bad enough with the tutu ... a dress would cause a scandal!

uh, no, you can't twist her arm ... or any other body part ... she's moved. :D
Now, stop baiting me before I get into trouble for derailing the thread! I just like to "look at the pictures" ... LMAO

Nat? I do like floor length for most skirted long dresses but I do tend to favor waltz-length because I might have an extraordinary pair of shoes...

Her wedding dress is a treasure, yes? I can't remember, but wasn't her wedding dress designed by someone kind of famous? Or, maybe it was worn by another member in her family??? I don't remember...

I prefer no ruffles, no laces...just pure elegance
